and Tyler Andrew Edwards

I talked to head football coach Bryan Trosclair at St. John High School over the Summer in June of this year, and we went over some players for me to keep an eye on for the Class of 2026. This past week I had a chance to see a St. John High School football game and came away impressed with a handful of really good underrated players lead by P/K/FB/MLB/QB Nathan Burleigh 6-0 205 pounds, QB/WR/CB Tyler Andrew Edwards 5-10 150, and TE/FB/DE Maddox Quebedeaux 6-1 215 pounds.
Nathan Burleigh plays 5 different positions, and he plays the game full throttle with grit and determination. What impressed me he will run over you and not around you as an RB in the Offense. I can see this kid playing football in college, but he also has interest from a few schools for Baseball (Offer from Millsaps), with visits set up in the near future to Millsaps, Loyola University, and Southeast Arkansas for Baseball. Nathan has a 3.9 GPA in the classroom 2024 was also All-Parish and team MVP in Baseball. Football in 2024 was the team MVP on Offense. His dad, Brad, played football in high school at Ascension Catholic, and Mom Tracy was an All-State Shortstop back in the day and a Volleyball player for St. John High School.
Nathan (Nate) Burleigh is an old school Fullback, big and physical, running and blocking. Will do anything you ask. Plays all over the field for the team's 5 positions and starts on the kick team said Head Coach Bryan Troxclair.”
Coach Bryan Toxclair and Coach Ron LeJeune, my Offensive Coordinator, are my coaches on Offense. From these two, I’ve learned the right way to run the Wing T Offense. Coach Tro has our backs no matter what and treats all of us like we’re his sons. Coach LeJeune has spent plenty of time drawing up plays and breaking down the Offense to ensure us the best chance of winning. The atmosphere created by the St. John fans is electric. There is so much support from the school, community, and coaches.
Tyler Andrew Edwards starts at Quarterback with good feet and a good arm. Really good Athlete for the team with good speed, and I think if he chooses football would make a really good Wide Receiver in college from what I saw. Tyler, in 2024, was the team’s MVP on Defense in Football and an All-District Shortstop in Baseball. In 2024 was also the school's MVP in Basketball. This is a kid that the coach told me over this past Summer started 9 games as a Freshman 3 years ago on varsity at 92 pounds at Quarterback on the football team. Edwards currently has a GPA of 3.21 and an ACT score of 19.
Tyler is a 3-year starter for us at QB. Also starts at Free Safety for the team on Defense in 2025. Can’t let his size fool you because he plays with all heart said Head Coach Bryan Troxclair.”
Playing for the Community we have at St. John is truly something special. The community behind the football team is something I wish everyone could experience. We come from a small school, but to see the community come together and have our backs from home games to away games is amazing said Tyler Andrew Edwards.”
Maddox Quebedeaux could become a player in time in college for football because he is already a big-time blocker as an FB/TE for the team. This kid will flat-out lay you out on the ground blocking for his team. He is full go every play at 6-1, 215 pounds of Muscle with good feet. If I were a college coach and needed a FB to polish in college, this is a kid I would take a chance on for my team.
Maddox is a very versatile player with good size to block as an Offensive Lineman and Athletic enough to be a threat in the passing game. Tough player who also contributes on Defense as a LB/DE said coach Bryan Troxclair, St. John High School.”
I also would like to mention some tough Seniors who deserve to be mentioned for St. John High School: OG/MLB Cole Markins, tough as nails, OT/DE/DT James Clark, 6-1, 265, moves well and tough, and WR/DB Levi Taylor, 6-0, 170, with really good hands and decent speed.
