Recruiting Spotlight: Keith McKinney, DB, Grant High School, Dry Prong, Louisiana
Defensive back and wide receiver Keith McKinney of Grant High School is an athletic prospect in Louisiana’s Class of 2027. Standing at 5’10’’ and weighing 175 pounds, McKinney has the potential to make an impact at the next level.
Last season, McKinney recorded 730 all-purpose yards at wide receiver, and he received honorable mention all-district honors twice in his high school career. He was also a member of the track team, where he was a regional qualifier.
According to Lee Brecheen, McKinney is a prospect who could make an impact at corner back at the next level.
“This kid is a 4-year starter who could possibly go play Division I. He would play wide receiver or corner back in college, and he’s a big-time sleeper for college," said Brecheen.

In the classroom, McKinney maintains a 3.8 GPA, and once he gets to college, McKinney wants to major in business.
McKinney spoke on what it is like playing for his coach.
“Playing for Coach Jarvous is amazing because he makes it not just about football, and he makes it feel as if our football team is another family,” said McKinney.
McKinney doesn’t currently hold any college offers, and he would like to play football at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette or Northwestern State University.
