Recruiting Spotlight: Raymond Johnson, DB, Green Oaks High School, Shreveport, Louisiana

Wide receiver and defensive back Raymond Johnson of Green Oaks High School is a tough prospect in Louisiana's Class of 2027. Standing at 6’0’’ and weighing 190 pounds, Johnson is a DI prospect who is a threat for opposing receivers.

Johnson will return to play football at Green Oaks as a starter for his senior season. Johnson was also a member of the track team, where he was a three-time district winner. Johnson runs a 4.7 second 40-yard-dash.

According to Lee Brecheen, Johnson is a strong player who looks the part as a defensive prospect.

‍

“This kid is a DI defensive back who is a really good hitter, runs well, and he looks the part,” said Brecheen.

‍

In the classroom, Johnson maintains a 3.7 GPA, showing a strong commitment to his academics as well as his athletics. Once he gets to college, Johnson wants to major in photography. 

‍

Johnson spoke on what he’s focused on this upcoming football season.

‍

“Just wanting to win and make everyone stop sleeping on the Giants,” said Johnson.

‍

Johnson does not currently hold any offers, but he would like to play football at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Texas Tech University, or Jackson State University. Johnson’s cousin played basketball in college, so it is clear that athletics run in his family.
