Recruiting Spotlight: Preston Tilley, St. Mary’s Catholic School, Natchitoches, Louisiana

Quarterback Preston Tilley of St. Mary’s Catholic School is a skilled prospect in Louisiana’s Class of 2027. Standing at 6’1’’ and weighing 195 pounds, Tilley has the competitive edge that scouts look for in a quarterback.

Tilley put together an impressive junior season where he showcased his leadership and ability to compete at the quarterback position. Tilley was also a member of the baseball team, where he recorded a .318 batting average and two home runs.

According to Lee Brecheen, Tilley has the leadership qualities that are expected from a starting quarterback.

‍

“He’s a big-time leader and competitor. He’s also a sleeper,” said Brecheen.

In the classroom, Tilley maintains a 3.8 GPA, showing a strong commitment to his academics as well. Once he gets to college, Tilley wants to major in industrial engineering.

Tilley spoke on his mindset going into every practice and every game.

“No matter how small the gain is, you're still profiting. Just give your playmakers the opportunity to make plays, and give yourself the best chance to win,” said Tilley.
