Recruiting Spotlight: Jackson Gautreaux, OG/OT, Notre Dame High School, Crowley, Louisiana

Offensive lineman Jackson Gautreaux of Notre Dame High School is one of the physically imposing prospects in Louisiana’s Class of 2027. Standing at 6’7’’ and weighing 320 pounds, Gautreaux is an intimidating matchup for opposing defensive lineman.

Gautreaux is new to football this season, but if he has a good year, he could impress some colleges.

‍

According to Lee Brecheen, with a good senior season, Gautreaux could play football at the next level.

‍

“Its his first year playing football, and he’s one of the biggest kids in the state. If this kid has a good senior season, a lot of colleges will look his way to offer him,” said Brecheen.

‍

In the classroom, Gautreaux maintains a 3.0 GPA, showing that he is committed to his academics as well as his athletics. Once he gets to college, Gautreaux wants to major in business.

‍

Gautreaux spoke on how he approaches every game each week.

‍

“I just let our success be the noise. I don’t worry about talking trash to the other team. I let my actions and what I do on the football field speak for themselves,” said Gautreaux.

‍

Gautreaux does not have any offers currently, but he did go to a camp at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette this summer.

‍

Gautreaux’s father played high school football at Notre Dame, where he was an all-state offensive tackle. He also played college football at McNeese.
