Will Berry

Class 2026, Defensive Lineman, Will Berry, Jesuit High School

It’s not every day you have a player coming out of a high school in Louisiana for any sport with a 36 perfect score ACT, a 4.62 GPA, and by the way, a pretty good football player in Will Berry of Jesuit High School in New Orleans, Louisiana, who stands 6-4 in height and weighs 262 pounds.

Will Berry I saw play in 2023,2024 and current 2025 a Defensive End who impresses me with his toughness, high effort, and good feet as a pash rusher and can run down Running Backs in one of the toughest districts in Louisiana (The Catholic League in New Orleans) made up of Jesuit HS, Brother Martin HS, Holy Cross HS, John Curtis HS, Archbishop Rummel, St. Augustine HS, Edna Karr HS, and Warren Easton HS.

If I were a college coach and I wanted to sign an Offensive or Defensive Lineman ready to go, I would sign players from this District because it will get you ready for high-level DI football with some of the best linemen in the state in the District every year.

Will is currently committed to Princeton College in the Ivy League for the Class of 2026.

Quotes from Will Berry, Jesuit High School in New Orleans

Coach Ryan Manale, head coach of the Jesuit High School football team, is always pushing us to be the best versions of ourselves we can. He always reminds us that, especially in the heat of the moment in games, he expects perfection. He has pushed me to continue to grow since my 8th-grade year. His focus on the little things has driven me to strive for excellence.

Our Defensive Line coach at Jesuit is Austin Bellamy. He is one of the smartest football minds I have been around. Coach Chris Baxter is our assistant Defensive Line coach. He brings more of the physical side of the Defensive Line play. The Combination of coach Bellamy’s technique and coach Baxter’s physicality makes for great coaching. The best players can be technically smart and sound while playing physically at full speed.

Princeton football is one big family from coach Bob Surace down to the players;  everyone is welcoming and acts like a band of brothers. The tight-knit nature of the program was evident from the moment I stepped onto campus. Coach Will Fox, who was fairly new at the time of my visit, and Coach Stephen Verbit clearly work incredibly well together-just one instance of how close the people in the program are. Coach Verbit is incredibly knowledgeable about the Defensive Line play, which is a good thing because I can talk about it for hours. The Campus at Princeton is beautiful. I can imagine it looks like you’re going to school at Hogwarts during the school year. After months of recruiting, it came time to make the biggest decision of my life so far. I prayed on my commitment . After about an hour of prayer in the dead of night, I knew it had to be Princeton. I am incredibly blessed and fortunate to be able to play the sport I love at one of the best institutions in the world.
