Recruiting Spotlight: Aaron Owens, Thrive Academy, Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Interior offensive lineman Aaron Owens of Thrive Academy is one of the most physically imposing prospects in Louisiana’s Class of 2027. Standing at 6’6” and weighing 360 pounds, Owens is an intimidating matchup for opposing defensive linemen.

Owens put together an impressive junior season where he was the leader of the Thrive Academy Offensive Line. Owens received all-district honorable mention honors for his play on the field. He is looking to have a big senior season in hopes of catching the eyes of college scouts to perform at the next level.

‍

According to Lee Brecheen, Owens is a versatile lineman who can potentially have a big year this upcoming season.

‍

“He has great size and moves well for his size. If he has a big year in 2026, he will become a big-time recruit overnight,” said Brecheen.

‍

In the classroom, Owens maintains a 3.2 GPA, and he scored a 19 on the ACT. Once he gets to college, Owens would like to major in agriculture and possibly education as well. Owens shows a strong commitment to both his academics and athletics.

Owens spoke on what it’s like playing for Thrive Academy.

‍

“Playing for Thrive Academy means a lot to me because of how many opportunities I got,” said Owens.

‍

Owens doesn’t currently hold any offers, but he attended the LSU OL/DL Camp and Prep Redzone Combine. Owens also visited McNeese, North Texas, and Alcorn State.
