Recruiting Spotlight: Wyatt King, LaSalle High School, Olla, Louisiana

Class of 2027 MLB Wyatt King of LaSalle High School is a physical, downhill linebacker who thrives on contact and setting the tone for his defense. Standing at 6 '1 and weighing 200 pounds, King embraces the responsibility of being the leader in the middle and consistently finds himself around the football making impact plays.

This past season, King recorded 101 total tackles, 4 sacks, and 11 tackles for loss, showcasing his ability to disrupt opposing offenses both in the run game and as a pass rusher. In addition to his defensive production, King also contributed offensively, rushing for 514 yards and proving his versatility as an athlete.

In the classroom, King maintains a 3.5 GPA along with a 20 ACT score, demonstrating a strong commitment to academics while balancing the demands of being a multi-phase football player.

King credits much of his growth to the environment around him and the standards set within his program. “It’s a blessing to be able to represent my school. My coach holds me accountable and brings out the best in me,” he said, reflecting on the culture that has helped shape his development both on and off the field.

According to Lee Brecheen, King is an impressive athlete for his size who is under the radar and has strong potential to play at the next level.

“This is a kid who can run a 4.7 forty at 235 pounds, a great athlete, and does everything for his team, sleeper recruit.”

Football runs in King’s bloodline, as his father played at Ferris State and Louisiana Christian, giving him a strong foundation and understanding of what it takes to compete at the next level.

While King does not currently hold any offers, he is actively working to gain exposure and plans to attend camps at Nicholls and ULL, along with several other FCS and Division II programs. With his production, physicality, and mindset, King is a name to watch as he continues to develop and pursue opportunities at the collegiate level.
