East Jefferson High School’s Jacob Boudreaux is growing into a talented athlete in the Louisiana Class of 2027. At 6’4” and 242 pounds, Boudreaux has impressive athleticism and is poised to gain muscle.

‍

LHSAA eligibility rules forced Boudreaux to sit out his junior season following a transfer from Crescent City High School, which cut its football program.

‍

Lee Brecheen says although Boudreaux has been a mainstay on the defensive line, his agility and football IQ are suited for multiple positions in college.

‍

“He is a late bloomer with a great frame and can play either tight end or defensive end in college,” Brecheen says. “He also has good feet and a high football IQ.”

‍

Boudreaux is homeschooled and goes to East Jefferson only for practices and games.

‍

The arrangement, Boudreaux says, lets him strengthen his faith and relationship with his family, and gives him more time to train.

‍

“I enjoy being around my mom more. She helps me to grow and learn, not just academically, but spiritually because Christianity is a big part of our lives,” Boudreaux says. “It also allows more time for me to work on my craft. I see a trainer twice a week, around 10 a.m., and we work on my defensive play.”

‍

Although athleticism is one of Boudreaux’s premier abilities, his strength is constantly improving.

‍

The prospect registered a 265-pound bench and a 485-pound squat when he last recorded his lifts several months ago.

‍

Boudreaux is not only a two-way player on the field, he also takes dual-enrollment classes at Southeastern Louisiana University while maintaining a 3.65 GPA.

‍

He has offers from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi, and Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana. He has also attended camps at LSU, Southern Miss, and Houston.

‍

He plans to major in business finance and analytics.

‍

In his free time, Boudreaux keeps a full schedule. He volunteers with teammates to help disabled athletes, participates in the Association for Catholic Formation and Leadership, and has earned a first-degree black belt in Karate.
