Recruiting Spotlight: Daniel Thomas Jr

Many High School’s Daniel Thomas Jr is a speedy running back gaining traction in the Louisiana Class of 2027. Measuring in at 5’8” 175 pounds, his burst and physicality make him a prospect to look out for.
Thomas’ numbers speak for themselves, with the prospect running for 2,249 yards and 31 touchdowns in his Junior season. He also holds the school record for rush touchdowns in a game with seven.
Lee Brecheen says Thomas is one of Louisiana’s best running backs and has the ability to be a quality FCS starter or FBS walk-on.
“He has a great burst that colleges look for when he hits the line of attack,” Brecheen says. “When he hits the open field he can separate from a lot of players.”
He does not hold any offers, but has attended camps at Louisiana Tech, Grambling, Northwestern State, and Louisiana Christian.
He plans to major in physical therapy or agricultural studies in college.
Thomas says he sees his small stature as an advantage rather than a challenge
“I hit the hole very low, and I'm fast enough to break any arm tackle,” Thomas says.
He is also a varsity baseball starter in the offseason, boasting a .301 batting average and more than 20 stolen bases in his junior season.
