The Sam Houston Broncos are entering the division I (Non-select) playoffs as the 12th seed after a strong 7-3 performance in the 2023 regular season. They will face the Mandeville Skippers in round one of playoffs. Wyatt Fontenot is one of the key players helping to lead the Broncos this season.

Fontenot is one of the best defensive linemen in the state. He had over 130 tackles in the 2022 season and over 63 in the 2023 season. He has received offers from Northwestern State and Centenary .

"The brotherhood here(Sam Houston) is the best there ever is," said Fontenot. "The atmosphere always leaves you in shock every time you walk onto the field."

Fontenot is currently looking to attend either University of Louisiana, LA Tech, or LSU. He intends to major in kinesiology

"I'm a hard worker and I never quit no matter what, " said Fontenot.
