Recruiting Spotlight: Hudson Hyde

Recruiting Spotlight: Hudson Hyde, Live Oak High School, Watson, LA

Tight end/H-back Hudson Hyde of Live Oak High School is a developing Class of 2027 prospect who brings size, versatility, and toughness to the offensive side of the ball. Standing 6’1” and weighing 210 pounds, Hyde plays a physical style at tight end while also contributing as an H-back/fullback.

Hyde’s role in the offense has primarily been as a blocking tight end and short-route target, doing the dirty work that often goes unnoticed but is critical to a team’s success. He finished last season with two touchdowns while helping his team in multiple ways beyond the stat sheet.

According to Lee Brecheen, Hyde is a prospect who could develop into a strong option at the next level.

“I think he would be a sleeper fullback for college. He has the size, is a tough, strong kid, and I think he goes into his senior year as a big-time sleeper at the position. He also runs very well,” Brecheen said.

Off the field, Hyde carries a 3.5 GPA and continues to work toward improving his ACT score. He plans to major in construction management at the next level.

Hyde credits much of his development to the coaching staff at Live Oak, including head coach Jimmy Leggett. He also spoke highly of former position coach Tommy Beswetherick, who helped shape his game early on, and current coach Raymond, who has worked with him to improve his route running and explosiveness.

“Playing for Live Oak High School has been great throughout these last three years,” Hyde said. “Coach Leggett has been a big help in steering the program in the right direction. Coach Beswetherick taught me a lot, and Coach Raymond has helped me improve my route running and become more explosive.”

Hyde has attended a camp at The University of Louisiana at Lafayette and has received letters from schools, showing early interest as he continues to develop.

With his size, versatility, toughness, and continued development, Hudson Hyde is a prospect who could see his recruiting stock rise as he heads into his senior season.
