Team Outlook: “We are going to do things the Chalmette way tough, hard nosed kids, compete and play hard all the time,” said coach Tucker. “We are in a new tougher District, the Catholic League in 2026.”
The Owls are coming off a season where they did not make the playoffs for the first time in 10 years. I think you will see them back in the playoffs in 2026 with a talented younger team overall. The future is bright for Chalmette High School with one of the largest enrollments in Louisiana, with close to 2,300 students.

We only return 1 starter on Offense and 3 on Defense plus return our starting Kicker. We had over 20 players sign college scholarships from the 2025 team special group.” “We just need to play the Karr way and we will be fine for a new season.”
The Offense, for the first time in three years, will need to replace one of the greatest Quarterbacks in Karr's storied history in John Johnson, who graduated. Marlon Jones, 6'3", 195 pounds, is the leading candidate to take over under center, and you have some competition led by Forest Johnson, 6'1", 170 pounds, and some younger players that might emerge throughout the Summer. The Offense's run game could end up being the strength of the team early on with several Running Backs returning with experience, led by senior Jermond Macklin, 6'0", 195 pounds, 4.5 speed in the forty; RB Jarrell McGee, 5'9", 185 pounds, 4.4 speed; RB Jai Warner, 5'8", 185 pounds; and RB Justin Roberson, 5'9", 185 pounds. 2026  Non District Games: Week 1 Madison Prep HS (Home), Week 2 St. Thomas More HS (Home), and Week 3 Bonnabel HS (Away).
Team Outlook: “ Like this group of players ,I like the humility I’m seeing with the hard work being humble and these kids are looking for more," said coach Manale. “ Hopefully all this translates onto the football field.”
The Offense, because of injuries to the Quarterback position in 2025, was able to play two young QBs that got a ton of playing time: Sully Sullivan, 6'1", 230 pounds, and Mani Vandenweghe, 6'0", 180 pounds. Both of these young men have the ability to make all the throws, and both can run the football as dual threats. This will be a strong QB battle throughout the Summer. The team basically has two QBs that could start for any Class 5A team in the state right now. The sky is the limit for this program moving forward, and now, like Coach said, if the team stays focused and remains consistent with its goals, it's scary what this program can achieve not only this year but for many years moving forward.
The Offense will revolve around a talented Wide Receiver room, which returns two of the best WRs in the country on one team, led by Ray'Quan Williams, 6'1", 189 pounds, senior (31 catches, 647 yards with 7 touchdowns), and senior 4-year starter Miguel Whitley, 6'1", 190 pounds (889 yards with 14 touchdowns in 2025), both great, tough players who have the ability to each go over 1,000 yards in 2026. There's also several more WRs to watch in Lucas Jefferson, 5'11", 178 pounds; senior Derrick Bennett, 5'10", 170 pounds, who does everything well; Quinton Richardson, 6'2", 170 pounds; Jace Newman, 5'10", 180 pounds; and WR Terrance Connor, 5'9", 165 pounds, with 4.5 speed in the forty. The run game will have four different backs rotating as a group: RB Khlil Lewis, 5'9", 175 pounds, with power and speed; RB Patrick Robinson II, 5'9", 175 pounds, back from an injury; Freddie Burguess, 5'9", 170 pounds, who had a great Spring; and RB Cohann Davis, 5'10", 185 pounds, who brings both power and speed. The new Quarterback, Jaelle Noble, 6'3", 195 pounds, has a lot of experience from the 2025 season and will be ready to lead this talented Offense. The Offensive Line will be tough overall, led by OL Jaden Taylor, 6'5", 270 pounds; OL Gregory Shields, 5'10", 230 pounds, senior leader; Center Elijah Menville, 6'0", 270 pounds, senior leader; Stephen White, 6'0", 320 pounds, a converted Defensive Tackle from 2025; and OL Taeyo Suarez, 6'1", 245 pounds. Also getting reps will be Michael Coleman, 6'1", 250 pounds. The team also has a really good Tight End room led by Kamari Navarre, 6'3", 235 pounds; Christopher Dupuy, 6'0", 205 pounds; and Jackson Green, 6'1", 200 pounds.
The Defensive Line returns experience and depth, which will help in a tough, long season for this program. Players to watch are DE Jacques Robichaux, 6'4", 225 pounds; DE/LB Darren Coates Jr., 6'1", 220 pounds, with 4.6 speed in the forty and a leader; DT Dominick Lloyd, 6'1", 260 pounds; DT Dylan Davis, 5'10", 265 pounds, senior; DT Corey Brooks, 5'10", 260 pounds, senior; DE Darrius Gibson, 6'0", 215 pounds; and DT/DE Justin Betts, 6'2", 265 pounds, who had a great Spring.
The Linebacker room also has experience and depth, led by John Carter, 6'1", 220 pounds, tough leader; Jai Dillon, 5'10", 200 pounds; Caleb Trueblood, 5'10", 180 pounds; Zige Casby, 5'10", 200 pounds; LB Kimari Smith, 5'9", 185 pounds; and Kolby Roybiskie, 5'11", 200 pounds. The Defensive Backfield has experience returning and some new faces, led by CB/Safety Armon Allen, 5'10", 170 pounds, a 2nd-year starter; CB/Safety Trevor Randall III, 5'9", 160 pounds; CB Payton Thomas, 5'10", 165 pounds; Safety Randall Parnell, 5'11", 165 pounds; CB/Safety Jarren Marshall, 5'9", 160 pounds; CB/Safety Brian McCollum, 5'9", 160 pounds, with 4.5 speed in the forty; CB Kymani Price, 5'10", 165 pounds; Safety Payton Anderson, 5'10", 165 pounds; and CB Vincent Baptiste, a newcomer with 4.5 speed in the forty to watch.
Special Teams starting Punter will be Miguel Whitley. Kicker will be Tawain Simon, 5'10", 150 pounds. Long Snapper will be Christopher Dupuy, 6'0", 205 pounds. In the return game, All-Purpose player WR Derrick Bennett will be a big playmaker on punt and kickoff returns.
