Head Coach: Chris Womack (1st year)
2025 Record: 2-8

Team Outlook: “Change personality and culture here," said coach Womack. “Always go 100% every play, worry about the outcome in the end.” “Moving forward everything we do becomes better people and football will take care of itself.” “The Offense will be more Flexbone/Option with the Quarterback being more involved in the Running Game.”
New Head Coach Chris Womack I think is a good hire. His background is impressive, and I remember when he was Defensive Coordinator for Lakeshore HS in 2017 when they went to the State Title Game and finished State runner-up.
The Offense will have 2 Quarterbacks competing all the way through the Fall in Logan Astugue, 5'8", 170 pounds, with legit 4.6 speed in the forty, and Jacob Treuting, 6'0", 175 pounds, also Athletic with a good arm.

2026 Non District Games: Week 1 Prairieville HS(Away), Week 2 Ascension Catholic HS(Away), and Week 3 L.W. Higgins HS(Home)
Team Outlook: “We lost 23 seniors from the 2025 team, plus 4 players hit the transfer portal and one player gave up football so 28 players we lost total with experience from last year," said coach Buckels. “We return 5 starters on Offense and 2 starters on Defense.” “We do return a talented team but we will be young to start the season overall.” “I think come Fall practice we will be good and ready to compete again with some talented young kids and look forward to another season leading the Tornadoes.”
The face of the Tornadoes program returns in 4-year starting Quarterback Terin Jones, 6'0", 190 pounds, a kid who competes and works hard to win games. Jones will enter the season as one of the top players in the District, and I think he has a chance to be a great college player one day too.

The program will be led by one of the most talented young Quarterbacks not only in Louisiana, in my opinion, but in the US for his class, Krew Collura. This is a kid who started as a Freshman in Class 5A and looked like a college senior in being competitive and competing at a high level you don’t see from Freshman High School QBs. Collura had 2,333 passing yards with 23 Touchdowns and only 6 interceptions and ran for 600 yards and 2 Touchdowns.
There’s skill experience back around Collura like WR Jake Jacketti, 5'8", 180 pounds, 55 catches, 714 yards with 7 Touchdowns; and WR Luke Demelo, 5'11", 170 pounds, 48 catches, 793 yards with 10 Touchdowns.

The Defensive Backfield will be led by senior 3-year starter Dylan Henry, a Safety, 5'11", 170 pounds, had 50 tackles with 2 Interceptions in 2025; Safety Logan DesRoches, 5'10", 185 pounds, returning starter; Safety Zach Ferro; CB Cole Amato; CB Max Malik; CB Zac Malik; and newcomer, if cleared, transfer from Northlake Christian HS Carter Curry, 6'1", 185 pounds, with 4.5 speed, can play CB or Safety.

he Offense returns one of the best Athletes in the district in 3-year starting QB J.J. Gonzales, 5'9", 160 pounds, who is very underrated as a runner and passer.
More skill players on Offense to watch are WR Eli Knighten, 6'4", 200 pounds, 2nd-year starter; RB Justus Carlton, 5'8", 165 pounds; RB/WR Miller Wadley, 5'10", 170 pounds; WR Savion Harris, 6'3", 175 pounds; WR Tyson Burns, 5'7", 150 pounds, 4.6 speed in the forty; FB/TE Carter Autin, 5'10", 200 pounds; WR Bryer Loyd, 6'0", 170 pounds; and 2-way player WR/Safety Savion Gray, 6'3", 185 pounds.

Slidell Tigers

Head Coach: Damon Page(3rd year)
2025 Record: 6-5
2026 Playoffs: 1st Round loss to Hahnville HS
Signees Colleges:TE/DE Jeremiah Birdlow (UL), LB Tyler Roberts (Millsaps), WR Carlos Flemings Jr (Alabama State), CB Eric Morgan Jr (Nelson College), DT Omarion Clark (Millsaps),and OL Landon Bissel (Mississippi Christian JC)
2026 Non District Games: Week 1 Holy Cross HS(Away), Week 2 Lakeshore HS(Home), and Week 3 Lutcher HS(Away).
Team Outlook: “Special group coming back, these kids were Freshman on campus when I was hired and now they're going to be seniors,” said coach Page. “ We are focused, locked in to capitalize on the experience we have as a team for the 2026 season.” “We had 100% attendance for workouts this Spring and Summer.”
The Tigers will be as skilled with size on both sides of the football as any Class 5A team you will see in Louisiana. I was able to see Slidell play in 2024 and 2025, and most of these kids, like coach said, were playing. If they can put it all together as a team, we might be talking about a Cinderella story in the end for this program.
The Offense has the option of starting Ricky Williams III, 5'8", 180 pounds, for his 3rd year at QB or start Stanley Lange, 5'8", 165 pounds. Williams will be more of an Athlete for the program in 2026, able to play WR/RB and Safety to help the team more for a full season, and Lange is an up-and-coming really good Athlete who is becoming a good Quarterback for the Tigers.
There are several skill players in the program with talent. Here are some players to watch: Safety Bryant Brown, 6'4", 190 pounds; I think one of the best Running Backs in the Country Ja’Kwan Jones, 5'9", 190 pounds, power, speed, vision, has it all from what I saw in 2025; CB/WR Michael Thompson, 6'2", 188 pounds, 4.5 speed in the forty, playmaker for the team; WR Ra’Jon Williams, 5'6", 145 pounds, great hands; CB Cortez Thompson, 6'2", 172 pounds; Safety converted from Linebacker Taurean McCelland, 6'1", 185 pounds, 4.6 speed in the forty; CB Collin Hartmann, 6'0", 163 pounds, lockdown CB; Safety Denin Jordan, 6'2", 155 pounds, good tackler; CB/WR Harlem Steele, 6'2", 160 pounds; TE Andre Brown, 6'4", 205 pounds; LB/RB Jaden Cagler, 5'11", 187 pounds; WR/QB Dadrian Bartee, 5'9", 145 pounds; WR Drake Wilson, 5'8", 145 pounds; RB Kaden Calice, 5'8", 170 pounds; Safety Kyren Calice, 5'7", 165 pounds; and Safety Dalton Procter, 6'3", 185 pounds, will rotate in.
Key Linemen and Linebackers in the program to watch will be OLB/DE Javonte Watkins, 6'1", 210 pounds, 4.65 speed in the forty; OT/DT Tristan Jordan, 6'4", 285 pounds; LB/DE Jeremiah Gipson, 5'8", 205 pounds; DE/DT Jake Luneau, 6'0", 256 pounds; OG/Center Jeremiah Hookfin, 6'1", 258 pounds; OG/DT Kevin Ross Jr., 6'2", 295 pounds; OT Anderson Brown, 6'5", 260 pounds; DT Nazir McClelland, 6'2", 245 pounds; OL/Center Brenden Williams, 6'0", 253 pounds; DT Jaheim White, 5'10", 270 pounds; LB Braxton Sims, 5'10", 175 pounds; and OL Adam Thomas, 6'4", 270 pounds.
Special Teams will be led by returning starter Kicker Wyatt Burckel, 6'3", 178 pounds, who will also be the Punter. Long Snapper will be Harlem Steele. In the return game, Slidell has several players who can run in the 4.5 to 4.6 range in the forty that will make this a strong point all year long for the program.
