I am old school and I don't think it’s about winning a title every year to mark success in a season, but just being consistent,, and this program has done that with young teams and older teams Hats off to the coaching staff . Coach Monica was an assistant at ST. Charles Catholic High School for 14 years,, for his dad, the legend Frank Monica, Hall of Fame coach. Coach Monica was the Defensive Coordinator at Archbishop Rummel High School before becoming the head coach.

Tidbits: Brother Martin High School Football made the Semifinals 7 out of 9 years prior to the last two years, 2023 & 2024. That is a remarkable feat in one of the toughest Class 5A big boy Districts in Louisiana. Head Coach Mark Bonis likes to play a lot of players, so they will always be players with experience returning in the program. I think it is a great system for getting many talented players on the field every year.
The Offense will have many great Wide Recievers back in the program something you dont see a lot of anymore at this level all these kids have experience starting with WR 2024 Hon Mention All State/All District Easton Royal 6-1 192 3 year starter, WR Brodie Dumontier 5-11 173 3 year starter, WR Rex Leblanc 5-11 180 3 year starter, WR Rowan Lipscomb 6-1 175 4 year starter, and WR/RB Jack Melancon 6-0 188 a 3 year player in the program. The run game will have a group to share carries just like the WR group, led by Jeremiah Burton 5-9 178, RB Julian Cutter 5-10 169, FB/RB Alex Diaz 5-9 198, RB Lucas Ascani, and Athlete Jack Melancon. The QB position will have a new starter in 2025, Hudson Fields,, 6-0, 190, who lettered and has experience with a good arm and good feet in the pocket to have a breakout year in 2025. The Offensive Line will rotate more than five players, and you will have Starter Zaaire Condoll 5-11 253, OL Brody DePhillips 6-0 272 , SR William Wiss 5-10 225, and OL Caleb Becnel 6-0 272, OT Nicholas Bruno 6-1 235, SR Many Heymann 6-0 287. The Fullback/HB/TE spot is always a deep rotation for this team, and you have FB Alex Diaz, TE/FB Jonathan Siggio 5-10 205 SR, HB/TE Owen Karl 5-9 181, and HB/TE Brady Balser 6-2 195. The Offense also has QB Justin Morgan, TE/FB Collin Tubre 5-10 185, WR Micah Irons, WR Glenn Hatcher, WR Jeremy Singelton, OT Ben Aucoin, WR Benjamin Dumontier, OG Kellen Grundmeyer, Center Caden Ballard, OG Mehki Lewis, QB/Wildcat Colton Elliot, TE Brayden Keller, all rotating in with reps at some point during the season.
The Defense will be replacing a few starters but return with experience and talent. Players to look for are DT/DE Robert Amos 5-9 224. DE Hayden Patterson 5-10 255, LB Trent King 5-7 195, OLB/SS Brady McCluskey 5-10 190, DT Grant Baglio 5-10 230, LB Chance Ross 5-8 175, CB Niles Barton 5-11 170 2nd year starter, Safety Luca Catanzaro 6-1 165, Safety Gaines Randol 5-9 163, LB Trey Goodall 5-11 208, OLB Jacque Airhart 6-0 202, SS Bronson Leaumont 6-0 190, DT Brandon Henry 5-8 240, and CB Kaeden Goodman 5-9 160. Here are more players who will get reps LB Andrew Fry 5-10 168, CB Patrick Jones 5-11 164, DE Claiborne Martin 6-1 245, Safety Dominic Trainor, Safety Caden Flanagan, LB Jacob Zavala, LB Cole Bienvenu, LB Dominic Jabbia, FS Andrew Dyson, and LB Johnny Revels 6-1 193.
Special Teams,, always a strong point for this program,, will be again led by Kicker /Punter new starter Max Barrios 5-10 165, Long Snapper Chris G’sell 5-7 166, Long Snapper Trent King, and Long Snapper Luca Catanzaro. The return game for Special Teams might be the best in Louisiana for a program with Easton Royal back 4.40 speed or faster Punt or Kick Return, KR/PR Brodie Dumontier, PR Rex Leblanc, and PR Rowan Lipscomb, all players with experience for Special teams with 3 years or more experience to make big time plays. The Crusaders also return SR Kicker Jacob Davidson, and SR Kicker Caden Flanagan, both could also figure in for Kickoffs and be a major part of this team in 2025 if not getting a shot to start at Kicker.
Edna Karr Cougars
Head Coach:Brice Brown(11th year)
2024 Record:14-0
2024 Playoffs: State Champs
2023 Record: Quarterfinals lost to Acadiana HS
Key players Graduated:WR Taron Francis(LSU),WR Bryant Sanchez(Arkansas Pine Bluff),LB Tyrik Brigalia(Southern U),LB Arsenio Bolds(Arkansas Pine Bluff),DE Corey Adams 15 sacks in 2024(Ole Miss),FS Cody Morris(Southern U),WR/RB Daehawn Smith(Louisiana Tech),WR Oliver Mitchell(Tulane),DE Lyric Hawkins(Louisiana Christian),DE Avant Lewis(Louisiana Christian),Kicker Jayden Hunter(Track Dillard U),and DE Jakeem Stewart(USC)
Team Outlook: When you win the school’s 7th State Title in 2024, and the 6th State Title since 2010, you don't rebuild, you reload. Coach Brice Brown has 5 State Titles as a head coach. This program reloads, it’s just a matter of how experienced they are going into a new season. This team coming back has the experience with talent mixed with young great players to compete for another State title in 2025. The Karr Defense has a chance to be one of the best Defense’s ot only in in Louisiana but in the Country in 2025.
The main reason this team could win it all again is that it returns All-State/All-District and Offensive District player of the year in 2024 Quarterback John Johnson for his 3rd year under center. John is special to the program,, and what’s scary is that his senior year might be his best year to show off his full potential at 5-11, now 195 pounds. John threw for 3,398 yards with 34 passing touchdowns,16 rushing touchdowns, and rushed for 901 yards all in 2024. The run game will return most of itsproduction also from a year ago in a system of rotating backs, which has worked for years for the program, starting with RB Jermond Macklin 6-1 200, RB Tre Garrison 5-11 195, and RB Jarrell McGee.All backs are playmakers with power and speed, and, and at any given time, they will see the ball out of the backfield or as a WR. The WR room lost a lot of experience and talent but return’s talent with players who played a lot in WR Floyd Jones 5-10 180 SR the leader of the WR room now, Anthony Thomas 5-9 165 also has experience, and then there’s a few others battling like Glen Gurly 6-1 175, Tye Jackson 6-3 185, and WR Kamal Martin 5-11 180. You might also throw in WR Greg Wilfred,, a transfer from Destrehan High School,, if he is cleared this Summer This room will be deep again.Wilfred,, if cleared,, has All-State ability for his senior season. There’s also DI WR Transfer Jay’lan Ash from Archbishop Rummel High School,, and if he is cleared, it’s not even fair the talent this team will put on the field. The Offensive Line will be young overall but has great size as a group, and does return some leaders in All District OT Leon Noil 6-5 290 SR one of the best in Louisiana at his position, OG Zyion Wesley 6-4 285 a 2nd year starter, and three new starters all talented players in SR OG Michael Williams 6-2 285, OL Emon Drake 6-3 380, and OL Caden Adams 6-4 330. There’s also returning a great TE/FB/HB in Cameron Mumford,, 5-11, 250, a SR in 2025
The Defense return’s some of the best players at their position in the United States 2024 All State DT Richard Anderson 6-3 330,2024 All State/All District OLB/Safety Aidan Hall 6-1 200, CB Torrence Sanders 6-1 185, CB Hayward Howard 6-2 190, Safety Maurice Williams 6-0 180, and soon to be one of the best DE Juelz Batiste 6-3 245. There’s also several more talented starters to mention all college prospects DT Nigel Marshall 5-11 265 2nd year starter, DE/OLB Carnell Williams 6-3 225 2nd year starter, Safety Michael Quinn 5-11 175, DE/OLB Romeo Brown 6-2 240, LB Kelvin Martin 5-11 210, MLB Kylon Jones 6-1 225, and OLB Ja’Michael Quinn 5-11 205 a new starter. Some more players to mention that will rotate in are LB Ronell Kindell 5-10 200, Safety Kaiden Lucas 6-1 180, LB Baylon Randall 5-9 190, DT Brice Davis 6-0 260, and DT Charquone Stevens 6-2 275,, and several other young players will compete for reps.
Special Teams,, the starting Kicker will be Brayan Castellon, 5-5,, 150, a 2nd year starter. Punter will not be decided till Fall camp. The return game has 12 to 15 players who run the forty in 4.5 or faster to choose from on this team in 2025 for Kick or Punt Returns.

The Offense will have a new Quarterback in Jakoby Farria,, 6-2 175,, has a DI arm and good feet in the pocket. Jakoby by season’s end has a chance to be a household name among several colleges and has a chance to lead this young team to the playoffs in his 1st year as a starter. The Jesuit program has always had good Quarterback in the system coming up, and in 2025, it will be no different The team returns starting QB Taylor Norton 6-1 193 SR,, good arm and good feet in the pocket, but also hasbig time QBscompeting for the spot in Garrett Jordan 5-11 160, QB Sully Sullivan 6-1 216, and QB Manni Vanden Weghe III 5-9 165. John Curtis Christian Patriots
Head Coach:J.T Curtis(56th year)
2024 Record:7-6
2024 Playoffs:1st Round Beat Brother Martin,2nd Round beat Acadiana HS,3rd Round beat Teurlings Catholic HS, Semifinals lost to Alexandria HS
2023 Record:8-3.2nd Round lost to Catholic High School of Baton Rouge
Key players Graduated: WR Xavier Brown(Coastal Alabama Baseball), CB Trey Brown, QB Reggie Johnson, RB Anthony AJ Smith, WR Juan Washington(Coastal Alabama Baseball), Safety Marc Canzoneri(Centenary), RB Jack Corcoran, WR Brayden Fulco, LB Hayden Delatte, Kicker Lucas Kippers, FS Frankie Massicot(Montevallo U Wrestling), DB Jason Curtis, CB Kien Franklin, TE Jojo Fagin(Northwestern State), OT Gabe Lagarde, OL John Signorelli, DT/DE Rowland Burrell, DT Tyre Gordon, DT Logan Barnes, WR Darien Mason..
Team Outlook: John Curtis High School will participate n the Jefferson Parish Jamboree,, where they will face the East Jefferson Warriors, where coach J.T. Curtis graduated from in 1966. The 2024 season was statistically one of their worst seasons. Ended the season in 2024 with a 4-5 record. It was the 1st losing regular season the Patriots have had since the very early days of the program. The only other losing season was in Coach J.T.’s 1st season in 1969. The Patriots' last non-winning regular season was 1974 when the team went 3-3-3. The Patriots won their 1st State Championship the next season in 1975. The 2024 regular season, however, was not the end of the road. The challenging regular season schedule(3 losses were by a touchdown) prepared them for a playoff run. The Patriots went on the road 4 times in the playoffs in 2024EaEachone as the lower seed and the underdog. They were able to power through three of those games by defeating Brother Martin HS, Acadiana HS, and Teurlings Catholic HS before eventually losing in the semifinalsto Alexandria HS. The 2025 season for John Curtis High School,, in my opinion will be fruitful because the program will go into the 2025 season as underdogs again in the best Class 5A District in the State of Louisiana. I was able to spend some time in early Spring of this year with Coach J.T. Curtis and Coach Jeff Curtis, and met a bunch of the returning starters for this year. I was really impressed with the amount of talent they have returning on both sides of the football for the next 3 to 4 years.
Tidbits: Head Coach J.T. Curtis has more football wins as a head coach in high school nationally with 630 total wins,, and I think it will never be broken nationally as the all-time wins ever for a High School Head Football coach. Coach J.T. has 28 State Titles, the most by any head coach in the history of Louisiana football and it’s up there nationally as well. Coach J.T. went to High School at East Jefferson Alum (Class 1966). Some people might not know this, but the coach was a High School All-American Offensive Lineman who signed with the University of Arkansas and finished at Louisiana College. The Schedule for the Patriots will be tough non district they play Cathedral High School in Los Angeles, California September the 5th at 4:00 Pacific time in the season opener, district opener will be Archbishop Rummel, and four games will be played on the road all in a row Warren Easton High School, Holy Cross High School, Brother Martin High School, and Jesuit High School.
The Offense will have 2 Quarterbacks to lead this team in 2025.Both Quarterbacks, London Padgett 6-0 170, and QB/WR Luke Martinez know the Offense in and out. The new starter will be Padgett, 1st year starter who will do a good job, and at times you will see Luke Martinez, who can also bring a dual presence to the Offense as a runner and running the Offense when he doesn’t play some WR for the team. The Running Back position also will have a new starter and new faces led by starting RB Jacobi Boudreaux, 5-10, 180 S, who had a really good Spring and has some power and speed to the position. Also rotating in will be RB Kolston Martinez 6-0 190 SR, RB Jaymon Williams 6-0 185 SR, and RB Gavin Ledet 5-7 170, all really good players. The WR position hasa group of rotating talented players in Darryck(D.J) Horton, 5-0 175, WR PaulDDufree 6- 4175, WR Evan Ditcharo, WR Keigan Linn, 5-11 175, WR Jace Gonzales, 6-1 165, and WR Luke Martinez. The Offensive returns eight players that can rotate at any time for the five spots led by 2nd year starter Willie Bolden 6-3 290, OL Colin Gonsoulin, OL Sean Goodrum, OL Broc Bryant, 6-0 300, OL Cody Woodruff, 6-2 270, OL Isadore Vance, OL Luke Castanza, and OL Eric Campbell. The Tight End position will be strong again, led by TE Caden Battard 6-2 225, and HB/FB/TE Nathan Newby 5-10 185.
The Defense will have some new faces in the starting lineup and is ledd by experienced LB Jeffrey Curti,,s 58, 200 pounds, All-State, All-District, led the team in tackles in 202, a big-time leader, coached on the field as a senior. The rest of the Linebacking core will consist of many players, Jamari Horton 5-10 200, LB Terrance Julien, LB/Safety Ben Barron 6-1 195 SR, OLB/MLB Lane Lecron 6-0 210, OLB Cam Gaudet, and OLB Aiden Morril 6-2 210. The Defensive Line, early on, will consist of these four players: Justin Lagarde, Trip Hall, Zaire Shepard, and Sawyer Barron. The Secondary lost some leadership to graduation but return a lot of talent in 2025 lead by Safety Jaden Keelen 6-1 190(55 tackles with one interception in 2024), CB/Safety Jewellz Tapp 6-1 180, CB/Safety Prentice Mackyeon 6-2 190, CB Craig Connor 6-0 175, FS Jayden Turner 5-10 155 newcomer, CB/Safety Jordan Pate 6-0 160, and newcomer Julian Tully.
Special Teams will have a new Kicker and Punter starting in 2025. Mathias Hernandez 5-8 160 will be the new starting Kicker, and Neil Lookingbill will be the new starting Punter. Lookingbill will also help with kickoffs and Extra Points for the team in 2025.

We will have a senior-heavy class of 30 players in 2025. I am excited for the new season coming up said Head Coach Jerry Phillips.”
Tidbits: Head Coach Jerry Phillips, back in the day Conference Linebacker for Tulane University, and an All-State Linebacker for Edna Karr High School. Warren Easton High School is one of the few schools in Louisiana in the last 10 years that has produced some of the top Offensive Linemen in the State and in the United States to DivisionI programs. After talking to Coach Philli, Warren Easton High School will dress close to 80 players in the Fall.
The Offense will return starting in 2024.. All District 2nd team QB Carl Reed 5-10 160 bigger and stronger and poised to have a great year passing and running in 2025. Reed can run a legit 4.5 forty. The Run game is so important in the Offense, and it returns some really good players. RB Terrell Surtain, 5-10 180, 4.49 speed in the forty, is one of the fastest players in Louisiana in the Class of 2026. Surtain will be a 3-year starter, then you have All District RB Thomas Vaughn 5-9 165, another speedster with 4.5 speed with experience, and then there’s FB Jayden Matthews 5-7 160 starting with 4.5 speed also in the backfield. The WR position strong for years will still have talent with players like TE Dillon Cain 6-5 205 2nd year starter, WR Davon Edwards 5-9 170 4.45 speed in the forty, WR Kelvin White 5-10 165 new starter, WR Joshua Parker 6-4 180, and newcomer Malcolm Martin 5-9 150 who the coaches think will have a monster season for the team with 4.45 speed and great skill set. The Offensive Line will return two Division I Seniors in OL David Baker 6-4,340 3 3-year starter, OT Jalen Chapman 6-,4 305, and OL Kenney Cain 6-,4 310), who also has a chance to be DI in the end. The other two spots on the OL are to be determined going into the Summer among a few players competing.
The Defense will return a lot of speed and tough kids, and not as big as some Defenses of the past for the program, but again, really Athletic overall in all positions. The front seven will be lead by DE Marcus Jasmin 6-3 255 SR a 4 year starter leader, MLB Narco Dunn 6-2 220 3 year starter leader, LB James Curley III 6-1 210 3 year starter leader, DE Juelz Haley 5-10 182 new starter, DT Soudah Koussanta 6-2 260 new starter, OLB Cahren Cotton 6-0 190 new starter, Christian Adams 5-10 185 DE as a new starter. The Defensive Tackle spots going into the Summer are still not determined. There are a few young players competing at DT, but Kane Mitchel, 5-10 260, seems to be one of those who won a job over the Spring. The Secondary will be one of the strongest positions on the team again lead by CB Miles Torres 6-0 170 4.45 speed in the forty, CB/Safety James Hogan 6-1 175 2nd year starter, CB Bryce Carter 5-9 160 new starter, and CB Re’Kye Gibson 5-9 150 will be one of the top Freshman Defensive Backs in Louisiana. Safety,, you have a strong group led by Safety Myron Lemont Wilhike 5-9 175 SR, Safety Jaedon Phillips 6-0 190 a 4 year starter leader with 4.59 speed in the forty, Safety Kaleb Gibson 6-0 175 SR, big time sleeper, and the talented SS/FS Ellery Boyd 6-1 180.
Special Teams will have two new Kickers in the program competing in Denim Mayes 5-8 150, also a CB on Defense, and then there’s Kicker/Punter Jama Sanon 6-1 195, who had a great Spring showing over 50 yards in range. Mayes can also punt for the team.
