Team Outlook: We are loaded in 2025. We are a really talented.  We belong in the 3rd Round and are one of the top-heavy programs in Louisiana in Class 5A. Northshore Panthers

Head Coach:Bobby Sanders(5th year)

2024 Record:1-9

2024 Playoffs: No

2023 Record:6-6

Key players Graduated: DE Wyett Sistrunk, MLB/RB Rogie Magee, QB Donovan Weilbaecher, OC/OG Jayden Lang, LB Carson Malasovich, Kicker Ethan Hanraha, and DB Brody Dukes.

Team Outlook:2024 was a tough year with a small senior class and a young team. We will be young again with a small senior class, but some kids will have experience in 2024. We go into the Spring/Summer trying to replace the whole Defensive Line from 2024. We will have mostly as starters So’s and Jr’s in our lineup said Head Coach Bobby Sanders.”

Tidbits: Head Coach Bobby Sanders was a big part of Ja'Marr Chase's WR NFL Bengals/LSU development at Archbishop Rummel High School. Coach Sanders was the wide Receiver coach at Chase High School.OT Chris Faulk to this day is the most talented player I’ve ever seen play for Northshore High School. Chris was 6-6, 300 pounds in High School and signed with LSU and was a big-time starter in the program before an injury cut his career short in the NFL.

The Offense will build around QB J.J. Gonzales, who is a great Athlete and has experience in 2024. The Offensive Line has a chance to be solid, led by Grant Lasseigne, Tarin Bridges, and OT Evan Orillion, 6-5 280, all starters in 2024. The run game returns starter RB Ramon Williams 6-0 195 SR, FB/TE Micah Cooper, WR/RB Tyson Burns 5-8 160, and WR/RB Justus Carlton 5-8 155, both quick and fast. You also have WR Eli Knighten 6-3 180, and WR/DB Miller Wadleigh 5-10 170 for the passing game.

The Defense will be rebuilding in the front seven but does return DE/TE/LB Jo’Vaughn Richardson 6-2 225 SR, LB Micah Cooper 6-0 211, LB Nate Myers 6-0 225, LB/DE Brayden Martin, and DE Austin Cohn 5-10 230, who can run a 4.7 forty. The Secondary will start out with CB Kai Williams 5-7 160 SR returning starter,  CB/Safety Brendell Vedol returning starter 5-7 160 3rd year starter, Safety Dominic Morsch 5-8 175, LB/DB/WR Savion Gray, and Safety Brennan Overby 5-8 160.

Special Teams will be solid again, led by Long Snapper Dom Dimitri, 5-11 240, and Kicker/Punter Will Lachney, who has a good leg.

Salmen Spartans

Head Coach:Eric Cutrer(8th year)

2024 Record:5-5

2024 Playoffs:1st Round lost to Northwood/Shreveport

2023 Record:

Key players Graduated: QB Markel Keyes(West Alabama), RB/OLB/SS Desmond Beasley(Louisiana Christian), RB/CB Christian Brown, WR/DB Tayshawn Scott, WR Alfred Smith, WR A’San Johnson(Butler, Kansas JC), FB/DT Izavion Morton, OL Adrian Ballard, OL Peyton Elder, OL Termaine Collins, LB Wylee Jackson, WR Grayson O’Shaughnessy, CB Josiah Morton, FB/LB Michael Welch Jr, CB/SS Kylen Fryson, Kicker/Punter Baha Barakat,  FB/DE Titan Breaux, DT/DE Darien White, OG Gabriel Lynn.

Team Outlook: New QB in 2025.Will have many new skill starters. I really feel good about our Offensive & Defensive Lines after Spring. We need to create some depth. I think we got better after our Spring game with Live Oak High School. I think we have a  few kids coming up who have a chance to be special. I love the kids we have coming back, we have  a family atmosphere and a hard-working group said Head Coach Eric Cutrer.”

Tidbits: The Spartans graduated 24 seniors from the 2024 season, and most of those were starters or played a lot of the last two or three years.

The Offense has two Quarterbacks competing for the Fall. I would not be surprised after talking to the coach that both players will help the team win at some point this upcoming season. Dajohn Howard is the leading candidate with a great Spring. Howard played a lot of Safety in 2024 and looks to bring a Dual presence to the team.WR Terrance Mitchell is recovered from an injury in 2024, where he missed most of the season, and will get reps at QB too at 6-1, 160 pounds, and is also a great Athlete. Both of these kids are starters in the program at another position if not at QB.

The Offense will build its run game around All District in 2024 RB Jimmy Chanzy 5-11 190, a power player with speed and quickness capable of rushing for over 1,000 yards in 202,5 and has experience in 2024 as an RB and in 2023 was All District as a Defensive player. Another name to keep an eye on getting reps at RB will be Korde Harris, who has a great future.  There’s also RB/CB Camron Robinson 5-10 165, a 2nd year starter, mostly a CB, but can get some carries in 2025. The Offensive Line, like the coach said he was impressed with, is led by the only true 2-way starter on the team, leader OG/DT Chris Newman, 5-10 220, who plays like he’s 290 pounds with feet and a concrete build as one of the best linemen in the District. There’s also OT Ronald Coleman 6-1 255, OT Jamare Shuler 6-0 215, Center Kermit Brower 6-3 270, and young Nicholas Carr 6-0 225 competing for a job with some other young players. The WR room lost a lot of experience but returns another talented group in WR Terrance Mitchell, WR Kashius Sampson 6-0 175 2nd year starter, WR Rey’sean Coleman, TE/DE Savolia Calahan 6-1 190, WR Jace Gains 5-7 160, and WR Amaz Aslam 5-11 155 getting reps. You will see a big group of Fullback/HB types getting reps, and all are mostly starting Linebackers from the Defense led by OLB/FB Ahman Bush 5-10 180, MLB/FB Eliss Knight 5-9 190, and FB/MLB Diaa Barakat 5-10 185.

The Defense will return some young talented players but again lead by DE/DT Chris Newman, Safety Tyree Burton 5-9 150 2nd year starter, CB Camron Robinson,  DT Joshua Loydrake 6-1 250, DE Reginald Bouie 6-4 210 2nd year starter, Safety Kevin Smiles 5-10 160, DT Imon Howard 5-9 240 big time strong, Safety Delaney Taylor 6-1 170, MLB Elliss Knight, CB Korde Harris, DE/OLB Durrel Charlot 6-4 195 rotating in or starting, LB Justin Amardor 5-10 220, and DT Cameron Wiltz 6-1 225 rotating in.

Special Teams, the Spartans will have a new Kicker in Isaac Plianski, 5-7, 140. Plianski had a really good Spring and improved with kickoffs also. The Long Snapper job is wide open going into the Summer.

Slidell Tigers

Head Coach:Damon Page(2nd year)

2024 Record:2-8

2024 Playoffs: No

2023 Record:4-6

Key players Graduated: RB/OLB Torey Kitchens, TE/WR Ramelo Howard, DT Isaiyah Gallien, P/Safety Austin Buell, WR/CB Jyron Terrance, DE Kendall Turner Jr.

Team Outlook: We have almost everyone back on Offense. We started 7 So’s in 2024 on Offense. We have grown a lot as a team. We have a mature team now. We will be holding each other accountable now. Kids are owning up to their role in the program now said Head Coach Damon Page.”

Tidbits: I had a chance to watch this team play in person in 2024 against Fontainebleau High School. I was very impressed with some of the young players on both sides of the ball. This team has a chance if they come together to be the sleeper team in Class 5A in 2025 across the State. Three of my favorite Alums of Slidell High School was CB Troy Twillie who was All District in Track/Football at Slidell High School then signed with LSU and started, and the greatest player most gifted i ever played against in high school was former Safety Reggie Cooper 6-3 215 played at Slidell High School tackled me in a game i thought i got hit by a NFL player in the 1980’s and was a All American at Nebraska.RB Matt Forte 6-1 200 coming out of high school was Fontainebleau Highwincredibleibl.e too lightly recruited out of high school, not offered by LSU, and became a starter with Tulane and played many years in the NFL, mostly with the Chicago Bears.

The Offense returns the Athletic QB Ricky Williams 5-8 170, who returns after starting his 1st year on varsity as a QB. I was impressed with his ability to run when needed and arm on the run. There will be competition from young QB Stanley Lane, 5-9, 165, who will also play some RB/WR/Safety for the team. The skill talent around the QB’s will be really good lead by RB Kewan Jones returning starter 5-9 185,  converted TE Andre Brown 6-4 210, WR Cortez Thompson 6-2 160, WR Michael Thompson 6-1 175, WR Khristopher Whittington 6-3 185 4.45 speed, RB D’Arrius Speedy Lee 5-5 145, and 2 way starter Jamar Spencer 5-10 185 SR RB/HB/WR/OLB missed 2024 with a injury now fully healthy to help the team all over the field.  The Offense will also see at times DE/TE 4 year starter Jeremiah Birdlow 6-4, 230 pounds, a big time player, get reps on Offense as a full-time DE. The Offensive Line has size and depth players to look for are OT Tristan Jordan 6-3 270, All District in 2024 OL Landon Bissel 6-3 270 2nd year starter,  OL Shawn Williams 5-10 220 SR 2nd year starter, OL Sterling Garrett 6-0 275 2nd year starter, OL Jeremiah Hookfin 5-11 210, OL Noah Leblanc 5-11 220, and OL Kevin Ross Jr 6-2 230 a new player.

The Defense has size, speed, and experience with several players to start or rotate in 2025. Here are some players to watch All District TE/WR in 2024 DE  Jeremiah Birdlow returns for his 4th year,2nd year starter Safety Jarvion Evans 6-3 170 SR,  LB Tyler Roberts 5-10 205,  CB Carlos Flemings Jr 6-3 170 SR 3 year starter,  DT Khagen White 5-10 245 2nd year starter,  DT/DE Elijah Cross 6-0 210 2nd year starter,  DE/OLB Javonte Watkins 6-1 195 lettered in 2024 new starter 4.6 speed, DT Christian Cook’Wright 5-10 230 new starter, DE Turrell Washington 6-0 185 new starter, LB Clyde McCoy 5-9 170 new starter, LB Taurean Duce McClelland 6-0 185 new starter, LB Bryant Brown 6-1 180 new starter, CB Eric Morgan SR 5-11 165 big time hitter, and Safety Chyan Hurt 5-10 170 new starter.

Special Teams will be strong with the return of Kicker/Punter Brennen Heim 6-0 180 SR, who will be in his 3rd year to start.
