Team Outlook: Real good off-season for the team. We do have some spots to fill, like a few Offensive Linemen, Linebackers, and some Wide Receivers, and we lost a really good QB to graduation. Players are working hard as a group. We had 45 to 50 players to finish the season in 2024, and in 2025 look to have 60 players overall.Spring/Summer will look to see fresh faces to fill key spots said Head Coach Steve Soper.”
The Offense will look to Braden Sprang as the new QB in 2025. Braden has a high IQ for football and the offense, and is a big-time competitor. Braden will also see some time on Defense as a Safety.
The young program returns some players with experience and new starters. Team Outlook: We were able to get on a roll in 2024, our QB Crain got hot and played lights out. Crain is the best QB I’ve ever coached in High School, and I had Zach Mettenberger(LSU) in Georgia, and some good ones at Hahnville HS and East Jefferson HS.. The kid is special. I feel like last year was a year to be one year ahead of schedule, and I thought 2025 was going to be the year as a team. I am excited about how good we can be in 2025 said Head Coach Nick Salterformaggio.”
Tidbits: I had a chance to take in a practice during the Spring and saw Franklinton High School football team in full pads, and they look like a team on a mission. I love the all-out effort from the kids in practice and the intensity on both sides of the football. The Demons also look like one of the most talented teams in all of Class 4A. If they get back to the dome in 2025, I would not be shocked; they have the coaches and players and mindset to win it all this season.
The Offense will return Jacob Crain 6-2 190, a strong, determined, strong-armed QB with State Title experience now and a big time sleeper in the Class of 2026 in Louisiana. The skill talent will still be as good even though some special players have graduated. Special Teams, the team returns one of the best Punters in Louisiana in starting QB Jacob Crain. Crain has a cannon leg, and I think it's a DI leg. Kicker will be returning 2nd year starter Gabe Ezell made a 38-yard Field Goal in the State Title game in 2024.

I am excited that we return a lot of skill players with experience. We just need to get a solid footing at the QB spot and Offensive Line in 2025 with new players, and we should be good said Head Coach Brent Indest.”

Key players Graduated: WR/SS Sean Jenkins, RB Tashod Badon, CB/WR Cameron Thibodeaux, LB Phillip Huth, OC/DT Gavin Ruble, LB Matt Palmer, OT Joseph Seghers, OT/DE Andrew Neal.
Team Outlook: Came out of retirement. Missed coaching. I’ve been living in the Pearl River community since 2002. I put my hat in for the job, and I got the job in the end. I wasn’t sure I would become the coach, and glad I was chosen. I spent 7 years away from coaching, working as the Parish Athletic Director Central office, so in a way I was never fully away from the game. I have a great administration, and Pearl River is a great community said Head Coach Jerry Leonard.”
Tidbits: New Head Coach Jerry Leonard did a great job when he was the Head Coach at Salmen High School for 14 years as the head football coach. This was a huge hire for the Rebels. I think Coach Leonard will do a great job with the program. Coach Leonard spent a total of 28 years coaching at Salmen High School and was a part of some great teams as an assistant in State Title games and as a Head Coach, taking his teams to the playoffs regularly.
The Offense will return 2nd-year starter Brayden Hutchinson, 6-2, 170, who has a good arm and experience from the 2024 season, but will get challenged at Quarterback by Romy Burrell, 5-10, 155, who also can play WR for the program because he can also really run.
