Beau Chene Gators
Head Coach:Buck Harris(2nd year)
2024 Record:1-9
2024 Playoffs: No
2023 Record:1-9
Key players graduated: Kicker Marcelo Sanchez
Team Outlook: We finished the season good in 2024.Got experience with 2024 young players. Spring game played at Basile High School, and I thought we got better as a team. Our schedule will be tough again in 2025 with teams like Rayne, Port Barre, and Delcambre said Head Coach Buck Harris.”
Tidbits: After talking to coach Harris, an Alum of Beau Chene HS Class of 2001, I know he’s working hard to improve the program. The good news is the program had 45 to 50 players in 2024, and in 2025 will have as many as 50 players, so the numbers will be up each year for depth purposes. The program returns a really good group of linemen that played and got experience in 2024, especially on the Defensive Line.
The program has the luxury of 2 Quarterbacks with experience last year in Brayden Marks who started 6 games and finished the season in 2024 5-10 170, and you have the starter from Spring did a good job in QB Cameron Sonnier, 5-11, 170 pounds. Simmons can also be a playmaker at the WR position.
The program will go into the 2025 season led by leaders OL Dylan Marks 6-2 290 SR, DT Marcus Blueitt 5-11 290 SR 2nd Team All District in 2024, MLB Matt Wheaton 6-0 180 SR, 3rd year starter, and DE/OLB Gavin White,, 6-3 190 SR, 2nd year starter.More key players to keep a eye on this year will be WR/DB Cayson Woods 6-2 185 2nd year starter, RB/LB Christian Wheeler 5-10 180 2nd year starter recovering from a injury in 2024, OT Malyq Mayfield 6-4 290, RB/CB Kyleon Lewis 5-10 180 2nd year starter, WR Aiden Crawford 2nd year starter, WR Keshawn Orville 6-1 165, Center Taylor Lanclos 6-2 210, DE Santiago Solos 2nd year starter, DT Kyron Lemelle 6-0 270 2nd year starter, CB Carter Thibodeaux 5-9 170 2nd year starter, and LB Isaiah Cisneros 6-1 172 a 2nd year starter.
Special Teams starter for both Kicker & Punter to be determined during Summer/ and early Fall practice in 2025.
Breaux Bridge Tigers
Head Coach:Tyler Pierce(2nd year)
2024 Record:2-8
2024 Playoffs: No
2023 Record:
Key players Graduated: LB/DE Logan Roberts, Athlete Ja’kylon Thomas, TE/WR Sage Chevalier, TE/WR Ethan Comb, OC/OG Kale Boudreaux, OL Ethan Pitre, QB Jaden Broussard
Team Outlook: New beginning. We lost a big senior class from the 2024 season. We are still building with a lot of new players. We do have 20-plus kids back with experience. Still have lots of bricks and sheet rocks to put up said Head Coach Tyler Pierce.”
This program will have most of the starters playing both sides of the ball in 2025. The QB spot will be a battle among WR Isaiah Leblanc, a SR in 2025, the best Athlete on the team at 6-2 180 pounds, 3rd year as a starter, and will compete with younger players coming in this Summer. The ideal plans would be a younger QB coming in to handle the QB duties and keep your star WR at that spot in 2025. More key players going both sides of the football are LB/RB Shawnee Lewis 5-10 188 SR 2nd year starter, DE/OT Christian Joseph 6-4 245 a college prospect SR 3rd year starter, LB/RB Baylon Champagne 5-10 215 SR one of the biggest leaders on the team had the most tackles on the team in in 2024 with close to 100, OL/DL Luke Landry 5-11 250 SR 3 year starter, WR/DB Dakowen Celestine 2nd year starter Athlete, DE/DT Percy Moultrie 6-1 225 2nd year starter, LB Cruz Trail 5-10 180 leader 2nd year starter, Safety/CB Noah Solomon 5-8 165 2nd year starter, WR/CB Chase Broussard 5-6 150, DT Ken’yan Domonter 5-11 245 2nd year starter, TE/FB Nelson Borel 6-3 180 great Athlete, and other young players coming up to compete to start at several spots.
Special Teams returns Kicker Myles Renard, who has a pretty good leg.
Cecilia Bulldogs
Head Coach:Cody Champagne(1st year)
2024 Record:12-3
2024 Playoffs: State Champions over Franklinton HS
2023 Record:12-2 Runner Up State Title game to Opelousas HS.
Key players Graduated: Safety B.J Gordon 400 career tackles (UL), Athlete Diesel Solari over 8,000 total career yards and holds school record total points 448 (Coffeyville, Kansas JC), OL Christian Menard (Northwestern State), DB/WR Ellis Stewart (Arkansas Pine Bluff), OL Ryker Airhart (Louisiana Christian), DB Gavin Solomon, MLB Bryson Guidry, OL/DL Rylan Hardy, LB Ben Theriot, OL Ames Meche, OL Kristen Landry.
Team Outlook: We still have a lot of pieces left to the puzzle. We will start very strong on Defense with more starters back there in 2025. The Offense, we still have players, and the kids are excited and ready for the 2025 season. Our kids work hard, and they know what it takes to play for championships here. I also also excited we have a good group of Soph players coming up with some experience and older players now helping the younger players get better, along with coaches, said Head Coach Cody Champagne.”
Tidbits: The Bulldogs' last 2 years have been special. Two State Championship games in 2 years, one State Title in 2024. I was able to visit with the team last year, week 10, in person and meet the whole team and staff, and you can feel the energy of the players and staff to compete as one and be great. It’s not an accident these kids play for State Titles; they believe they can and work hard to do so. I think you will still see that with the new Head Coach, Cody Champagne. Coach Champagne was the Offensive Coordinator for the team in 2024, and is an Alum of the school class of 1999. Coach was also the Softball coach at the school for 16 years. Tidbit Cody Champagne had the first hit in school history for LSU Eunice during his playing days there and at William Penn in Iowa as a Baseball player in college.
The Bulldogs have some special older players back coming off great years in 2024 in CB/Safety/RB/WR Franky Frank 6-0 180 had a fumble recovery in the State Title game in 2024, 3 year starter WR Jermaine Davis a fast big time playmaker coming off a great year 5-10 175 4.5 speed in the forty, LB Braylon Jones 6-0 210 SR leader had a great year in 2024 3 year starter, and one of the best in Louisiana in my opinion at several positions for the team 2024 2nd team All State/ All District WR/DB/Athlete/QB Braylon Callais 6-2 215 with legit 4.5 speed in the forty.
Speaking of Quarterbacks, the team will have to replace one of the greatest players in the history of the program, in 4-year starter QB/Athlete Diesel Solari, with over 100 touchdowns, over 8,000 career yards, and over 448 points scored. Braylon Callais can make All District again at WR/DB or QB, and will get a shot at QB at times in 2025. You also have at QB SR Veteran starter Collin Dore 5-7 195, who had a good spring at QB, played FB as a starter in 2024, LB Braylon Jones got reps at QB Spring, and young QB Layne Champagne, who has a good arm, looked good too. The skill positions on the team were as good as any team in Louisiana in any Classification in 2024. 2025 skill spots will still be strong again with CB/Safety Franky Frank, WR/DB Braylon Callais, WR Malik Joseph 5-11 165 SR 2nd year starter, WR Blake Huval 6-0 165 SR 2nd year starter, WR/OLB Jaydan Lewis 6-3 185, CB Da’Kelian Chevalier 5-11 170, WR Jermaine Davis Jr, CB Derrick Ross 6-1 170 2nd year starter, RB/HB Deondre Briscoe 5-11 195 2nd year starter, SS DaMarcus Babineaux 5-10 165, DB/WR Nathan Thornton 5-7 160, and TE Aaron Lindsey 6-2 195 a new starter.
A good bit of lineman return both sides of the football and linebackers here are a few players to keep a eye on LB Colton Faulk 6-0 175 SR 2nd year starter, OLB Jaydan Lewis,3 year starter 2024 Hon Mention All State LB Braylon Jones, DE/LB Conner Helaire 6-2 215 2nd year starter, DT 6-0 220 2nd year starter, Kennan Batiste 6-0 220, Ethan Journet 6-0 290 2nd year starter, OG/OC Jabarik Sebile 5-10 245 2nd year starter, LB Jace Knott 5-7 190 SR had a fumble recovery in the State Title game in 2024 tough leader, new starter OL Chance Guidry 5-8 200, new starter OL Zane Noble 6-0 230, and OL James Deluna 5-9 200 new starter.
Special Teams will be one of the stronger teams in Louisiana with Kicker Aiden Landry back as a cannon leg 2nd year starter, Punter will be Braylon Callais, and SR Collin Dore. In the return game, you have three big-time players back in Deondre Briscoe, Malik Joseph, and Jermaine Davis Jr can take it to the house at any time.

Team Outlook: We took a large step, finally understanding the level of commitment to buy into for the next level. We are competing. Finally feel like we are closer to where we need to be, but still a long way to go as a team said Head Coach Khalil Thomas.”
Tidbits: Head Coach Khalil Thomas, back in the day, was one heck of an All-District RB in High School at Catholic High School of Baton Rouge(Class of 2013). Coach Thomas went on to start for McNeese State Cowboys as a WR and later in his career as a DB, his senior year of college(Class of 2017). Coach Thomas, early in his career, was also an assistant coach at St. Augustine High School in New Orleans, Dutchtown High School, and was a graduate college assistant coach for the UL Ragin Cajuns. An interesting tidbit, coach Thomas told me I found interesting and happy for the program, they were able to get a grant to help pay for equipment and uniforms for this upcoming season for the players.
The program will build around some very special leaders coming back with experience in 2025. Those leaders are RB/CB Jamyrie Lambert 5-8 170 a 2nd year starter had 4 Special Team returns for touchdowns in 2025, All District, and over 1,200 total yards in 2024. Also back as a leader with experience is QB Chase Sylvain, 6-1, 170 started the last 3 games of the season at QB and did a great job in 2024.CB/WR C.J Aguillard has real 4.4 speed in the fort.y 2nd Team All District in 2024 team’s go to WR.MLB/TE/HB Jaedon Lathers returns for his 5th year as a starter, 6-1 232 with 6 sacks, and 77 tackles in 2024. 2nd Team All District in 2024.DT/OL Jaccoryn Franklin 6-1 240 a 2nd year starter with 5 sacks and 8 tackles for loss in 2024, RB Cameron Johnson 5-7 190 power and speed a 3 year starter, CB Carmel Bourgeois 6-0 150 SR a 2nd year starter with 7 interceptions in 2024 2nd Team All District, LB Avery Bergeron 2nd year starter former QB with 60 tackles,12 tackles for losses, and the captain on the field for the Defense FS Nico Maradiga 5-10 167 a 3 year starter.
More players to keep a eye for starting or playing time will be WR Bo Stewart 6-4 170 a 2nd year starter, WR Parris Hayes 5-7 145 with 4.45 speed in the forty, SS/OLB/RB Zachary Nelson 5-10 177 a 2nd year starter, OLB/Safety Chris Nelson 5-10 180 2nd year starter, OG Dmarkis Munson 6-0 308 2nd year starter, WR/FS Cam Carter 5-8 165 a 2nd year starter, OC/OG Ethan Darensbourg 5-6 230 2nd year starter, OL/DL Delaney James 6-1 238 2nd year starter, CB Aldric Collar 5-9 150 2nd year starter, DB D’Morian Douglas 6-1 160, and 1st-year starter DB/WR Marvin Dixon 5-10 175.

The return game you have 3 players who make up one of the best return Special Teams units in Louisiana starting with RB/CB Jamyrie Lambert returning as one of the best in Louisiana 4 touchdowns on returns in 2024, WR C.J Aguillard fast big time Athlete, and also you have the fast playmaker Parris Hayes SR also a starting WR for the team.
Opelousas Tigers
Head Coach: Harry Coleman(1st year)
2024 Record: 8-5
2024 Playoffs: Semifinals
2023 Record:11-4 State Champs
Key players Graduated: CB Landon Hammond (Tulane), DB Kyran Moore (Stephen F. Austin), WR Korey Fontenot Jr, QB/WR Zackeus Malveaux (Southern U), SS/LB Jaylon Breaux, OLB/DE Corey Amos Jr (Ole Miss), OC Chris Rideau (Tuskegee), DT Jonathan Ford (Southern), OT/OG Daniel Green, OL Bryson Lewis (Louisiana Christian), MLB Kylen Young, RB Da” Shaun Ford (ULM), LB/LSP Travis Esprit, DB Caden Arvie, DT Jacobian Ardoin Jr, WR Michael Hayes.
Team Outlook: Great football town in Opelousas, Louisiana. Great Athlete in the program still. Kids are already buying into the new head coach and staff. I am excited. I love what I see with the players and the program. We have to keep the standard in 2025. I am a football guy and excited I will coach in a football town said Head Coach Harry Coleman.”
Tidbits: The Tigers lost 15 to 16 players with 3 or 4 years of starting experience and players that made up a good bit of the 2023 State Championship team, the 1st in school history. After talking to new Head Coach Harry Coleman, he is confident that the program will be fine; they are just young in 2025, but again still talented. There were 45-50 on the team going into off-season workouts, which is a good number considering the program lost 17 seniors. Coach Coleman told me he expects as many as 62-65 players out for fall, which will be a great number for the program. Head Coach Harry Coleman, it seems like yesterday I saw him play football in high school at West St. Mary High School. And then covered him at LSU as a Linebacker for Louisiana Football Magazine.
The Offense will have many new faces in 2025. The new starting QB will be Collin Rideau, 6-0, 170, a talented passer and runner, a Dual player for the position. The WR unit lost a lot of talent but does return 3rd year starter Korey Major 6-2 170 will be the go to guy in 2025, along with Aaron Hall, 6-2 160, and 2-way starter WR/DB Marley Richard, 6-0 160, who led the District in interceptions as a DB in 2024. The run game will have a new starter for the first time in 4 years. The new starting RB will be Braylon Gradnigo, 5-8, 185, who lettered in 2024, but there will be a few new young players competing here in the fall, and this might be a position my committee in 2025. The Offensive Line graduated most of the starters from a year ago but do return talented players in OL Grant Lastrapes 5-11 255, OL/DL Ross Guillory 5-8 225, OL/DT Shane Broussard 6-1 260, OL/OC Daelon Roby 6-0 245 new starter, and OL/DL De’Marian Ladbe 5-10 260 another new starter.TE/DE Evan Thomas 6-5 228 will have a chance to be a big-time blocker and WR in 2025 for this team and a starter on the Defensive Line.
The Defense lost 8 starters from the 2024 season to graduation. DB Jaylon Owens, 5-8 155, 2nd year starter, DB Marley Richard, and DT Deaven Stevenson, 5-11 230, are the only players coming back as starters. Here are some new players to keep a eye on DT De’Marian Ladbe, DE Damien Rubin 5-11 215, DT Shane Broussard 6-1 260, and coaches son Corey Coleman CB transfer from Peabody High School where he was All District 2 different times in 2023 and 2024 with over 15 pass breakups will be the team’s lock down CB at 6-0 170 pounds. Look for many young, talented players to step up over the Summer and Fall for the Defense.
Special Teams will be decided probably in the Fall or late Summer for the Kicking and Punter starting spots.
