We think the maturity level of the team will be a lot better and help us with the off-season program, where most of our starters are in routine and understand the hard work and effort, and what we expect is better.
The Offense will return their QB for the third straight year as a starter in 2nd Team All District QB Luke Bauboin. Luke passed for 1,147 yards with 11 touchdowns in a Wing-T Offense. Luke has a strong arm and command of the Offense at 6-1, 180 pounds.2024 All District Jarrison Reese returns for his 3rd year as a starter and in 2024 ran for over 1,000 all-purpose yards. The Offense will have a new QB in Jayden Ardoin for the 2025 season. Ardoin lettered as a QB in 2024 and got experience at the position. Ardoin has a strong arm. Team Outlook: Had the injury bug hit us late in the 2024 season, lost 2 key running backs to injury, and that kept us from getting deeper in the playoffs. We did get to play 2 young, talented Running Backs, which will pay off for us this year with more RB depth for the 2025 season. I think our Offense will be loaded with skill talent also at WR. The challenge will be replacing 8 starters from the Defense, but I feel good about the young players stepping up to take their place said Head Coach Chris Edwards.”
Tidbits: One of the best coaches in Louisiana, replacing talent every year and big senior classes, and development is Head Coach Chris Edwards.
The Offense has a chance to be one of the best in all of Class 3A again in 2025. They return some special players like RB Ke’von Johnson, a 4-year starter if you combine his Freshman year with St. Edmunds HS. Johnson is a kid who can run a 4.39/40, rushed in 4 years for close to 6,000 yards(Ran for 1,850 in 2024 with 26 touchdowns), and had over 2,000 yards in 2023. Johnson was the District MVP Offense in 2024 and 2nd Team All-State as an RB. Johnson is 5-8, 180 pounds, but he is special. More skill talent with speed back will be WR/DB Markez Davis 6-4 185, CB/RB Hayden Brown 5-7 165 SR 3rd year starter, All District in 2024 with 4.45 speed in the forty. There’s also great Athlete’s Samuel LeDay WR/DB 5-8 170 SR with 4.5 speed, WR/FS Reginald Lavergne 6-2 190 DI recruit, RB/LB Frederick Nimer 5-9 185 2nd year starter 70 tackles in 2024, WR Mhy’kal Richard new starter, RB Adrian Lazard 5-6 150, RB/Safety/OLB Dontrell Etienne and talented new QB Justin Chavis talented arm and feet. The Offensive Line returns Center Hayden Brown 6-2 300, OG Justin Manuel 5-11 215 2nd year starter, FB/TE/LB Brycen Comeaux 6-0 205 2nd year starter, and Center/OG/LB Logan Moore 5-10 215 2nd year starter.

Pine Prairie Panthers
Head Coach:Lance Myers(2nd year)
2024 Record:1-9
2024 Playoffs: No
2023 Record:0-10
Key players Graduated: OL/DL Caydon Descant, RB/DB Draylin Freeman, RB/LB Caden Askey, RB/DB Kyle Basco, TE/LB Riley Fontenot, RB/DB Logan Vidrine,
Team Outlook: Pine Prairie will be a young team with Freshmen and Sophomores making up ¾ of their roster. Discipline will be the key that coach Lance Myers will use to continue a solid foundation. After winning a game last year for the 1st time in 2 years, the Panthers are trying to use that as a positive moving forward. The boys have been working extremely hard and are ready to finally take the next step in improving the program. They are learning what it’s like to commit to the process on how to do things said Head Coach Lance Myers.”
Tidbits: Head Coach Lance Myers will be installing a new Defense, implementing Coach Myers 3-4/3-3 hybrid Defense. The Offense will be running coach Higginbotham’s Flexbone Scheme. Coach Myers believes that any success this season will be the staple to get more kids to join the football team going forward. Low numbers have been what he feels have held the program back in the past.
Key players to watch for Pine Prairie high school football in 2025 are QB Ashton Deville 6-1 175 a SR, RB/DB Cade Rollins 5-9 190 a SR, WR/DB Jayland Duplechin 5-6 155 SR, OL/DL Dean Chapelle 6-1 265 SR, OL/DL Kade Fontenot 5-11 240, and OL/DL Koby Likehart 6-3 275 another SR to lead this team in 2025.
Ville Platte Bulldogs
Head Coach:Chris Bland(2nd year)
2024 Record:2-8
2024 Playoffs: No
2023 Record:2-8
Key players Graduated: TE/DE Damyrien Doucet, WR/DB Jaden Jacobs, OL/DL Traylon Jordan, OL/DL Robert Anderson, Safety/WR/KR/PR Jarian Leday, RB/LB Traelyn Doucet, CB/RB Montagon Dixon, DB Dalyn Seri.
Team Outlook: I think we will be a lot better. Toward the end of last season, I saw the improvement as a team. Football, for years, was not a priority for the school, and I am trying to change that mindset here. We have players at Ville Platte; we just have to believe that if you believe, eventually you will build the confidence to succeed. Our goal has to be to win the District or make the playoffs for the 2025 season said Head Coach Chris Bland.
Tidbits: I think Ville Platte football is on the verge of making some noise in 2025. I think they have a chance to be that sleeper storied type season that people can remember for a long time. It’s been 10 years since Ville Platte High School has been in a playoff game for Football. If the kids can fully believe like the coach, they have the talent to win a lot of games in 2025
The Offense has a good problem going into the 2025 season; they have 3 great athletes competing at QB. All three players will start at a position, if not QB. The three kids are QB Braylin Griffin, 6-0, 183 started games in 2024, will be a 4th year starter in 2025 could also play RB or WR/DB. You have Ashton Bias 6-0, 175 had a great season in 202,5 started the last few games in 202,4 and did well can also play WR/RB/DB, and you have a young, talented QB, Elijah Buxton, 5-10, 145 pounds, but a talented young player. Coach also told me he might go with a two-qb system in the end.
The program returns some very impressive players and new players in the trenches, they have Class 5A size on the Offensive & Defensive Lines lead by OT/DT Javion Alfred 6-3 285 SR, TE/DE Cameron Serailles 6-4 225, OL/DL Ja’Myrick Duhon 6-3 310, OL Nakeem Ceasar 6-3 350, OT Tyron Thomas 6-6 255, and the smallest of the bunch but most Athletic Center leader 4 year starter Landon Arvie 6-0 220 SR.
More key players back to look for are MLB/FB/TE Ja’Maury Thomas 6-1 220 SR 4 year starter coach thinks he might run for over 1,000 yards and get 100 tackles in 2025, RB/OLB Kendarious Doucet 6-0 185 4 year starter big time sleeper with 4.6 speed in the forty, WR/DB Tavion Thomas 6-0 170 4.5 speed in the forty 3 year starter leader, LB/FB Kyle Gallow 6-1 223 leader of the Defense 4 year starter, FS former QB Zion Thomas 6-2 175 big time Athlete, FS/WR Chavez Tezeno 6-6 195 SR 2 year starter, CB/WR Jer’myah Jones one of the fastest players in Louisiana 4.4 legit speed in the forty, WR/DB Tommy Murray 5-8 155 leader 2nd year starter 4.5 speed in the forty, LB Colin Thomas 2nd year starter leader 5-10 215 SR, and DB/WR Landon Papillion 5-9 160 new starter with a lot of athletic ability.
Special Teams will be led by the return gam, Tommy Murray, 5-8,155, will make things happen in a hurry if you kick him the ball. Kid has has football IQ of the game when he has the ball in his hands.
