Team Outlook: Our 2025 team will be full of new faces to the program. We look forward to introducing new names to the Bastrop community said Head Coach Alex Washington.”
Tidbits: Bastrop High School had its 1st winning season in 4 years in 2024 for Football. The Rams graduated a big senior class of 25 players from the roster. Only 1 starter returns in 2025 for the football program on the Defensive side of the ball. Most talented players I ever saw play in person from Bastrop High School were WR Rueben Randle(LSU), QB Randall Mackey, WR D Benton(Auburn), DE Talance Sawyer(UNLV), DT Claude Wroten(LSU), and Athlete Marshay Green(Ole Miss).
The starting QB will be Austin Davenport, 5-10, 165, who lettered and started games in 2024. Austin will be the leader of the team moving forward with many new faces on both sides of the football. The Offensive Line only returns one starter in 2025, a big time blocker, SR Marco Bovance, 5-11 305. The run game will have two really talented players rotate Antonio Green, 5-9, 170, and RB Robracio Sanders, both really talented players with great futures. The WR group will be the strongest position on the team, led by a rotation of SR Johntavious Lollie 5-10 175, WR Kaiden Payton, WR Simeon Davis, and WR Saint Davis, all Athletic playmakers in a rotation for the Offense.
The Defense, as mentioned above, only returns one starter, and that starter is DE Samuel Davis, 6-1, 215 pounds, a SR to build around for the 2025 season. More players to keep an eye on are LB Jeremiah Lavall, LB Quintavius Trotter, Safety Jakarion Edmonds, Safety Travion Miller, Safety Malachi Gates, CB Dominique Williams, CB Braylon Carter, and CB Chris Powell.
Special Teams returns Kicker Corey Rogan, who had a really good year in 2024 as the starter, and the coach thinks he might even be better as the Kicker in 2025. The return game returns the talented Punt or Kickoff Returner Kaiden Payton, who can take it to the house at any given time for the team.
Carroll Bulldogs
Head Coach:Marvin Williams(2nd year)
2024 Record:5-4
2024 Playoffs:1st Round lost to West Feliciana HS
2023 Record:3-7

Team Outlook: Tell kids all the time that if we work hard, games will be easier to play. Keep faith in Christ. Let's work and have fun. Good things will happen from a strong commitment said coach Marvin Williams.”
Tidbits: Head Coach Marvin Williams is an Alum of Carroll High School(Class of 1994). The 2025 Bulldogs team will be a mixture of new starters and some older, experienced players to have a chance at the playoffs again, I believe, if they can stay healthy overall.
The skill talent is there again in 2025 to be very competitive, led by QB Jason Friels, 6-4, 185, a 2nd year starter arm is stronger, and he should have a great 2nd year at QB. Skill talent you also have RB/WR Zaylin Singleton 5-8 150 4.45 speed in the forty 3 year starter, RB/WR Kaloe Henderson 5-8 160 coaches think he will have a break out year, LB/FB Michael White 6-0 205 2nd year starter had a great Spring, CB Den’guarrius Green 5-9 183 2nd year starter All District in Track 4.5 speed in the forty, CB K.J Kayden Jones 5-9 180 2nd year starter, SS Brennon Chatman 5-10 190 2nd year starter, Safety Terrance Ward 5-10 179, FS Lamond Woods 5-9 170, and LB Malaki Long 5-10 215 converted from DT/DE.
The Bulldogs dont have a lot of depth on Offensive Line and Defensive Line but the Lineman they have are big time players led by 2024 2nd team All State OT/DT Jordan Holmes 6-4 295 3 year starter, OL Daniel Straughter 6-3 310, DT Kameron Allen 6-3 296 2nd year starter, and OG Jeremiah Harris 6-0 245 2nd year starter with great feet and under the radar going into the 2025 season.
Special Teams returns at Kicker Joshua Bravo 5-8 215 for his 3rd year as a starter. The coaches think from 40 yards in he’s money. A really good player to have for close games which could determine making the playoffs or not making the playoffs for a lot of teams.
North Webster Knights
Head Coach:Chris Wilson(2nd year)
2024 Record:3-8

Team Outlook: Off-season came together as a team. We are more united now as a team. As a whole, we are better off being closer with a great off-season said Head Coach Chris Wilson.”
Tidbits: Head Coach Chris Wilson is an Alum of C.E. Byrd High School(Class 2003). Coach Wilson graduated from Southern U. Coach is the former Head Coach of Plain Dealing High School and also coached at North Desoto High School, working with the Offensive Line and RBs before being the Head Coach at North Webster. After talking to coach Wilson, he is not only excited about the 2025 season but says the 2027 Class has a chance to be special in the end.
North Webster will be one of those under-the-radar team’s in my opinion, as far as speed and athletes for the 2025 season in Class 3A football. If this young team can get the breaks in close games, it could be a really good year for the program. The program has some really big time Athlete’s like 2024 2nd team All State WR Donte Owens 6-3 170 SR 3 year starter, RB/LB Ja’Myrian Jackson 6-0 237 a man among boys on the field, CB/WR Jameson Harden 5-8 165 4.5 speed in the forty 2nd year starter, QB/FS/Athlete Braylon Washington 6-0 215 2nd year starter, FS Chandler McKenzie 6-0 168 2nd year starter, WR/CB Jaquarion Easter 5-8 165 new starter, SS Javion Hawthorne 6-0 180 new starter, LB/RB Ja’Kayden Jackson 5-11 195, WR Hayden Nance 6-0 160 new starter, RB/Safety Kaylon White 5-11 165 new starter, and QB Justin Stewart 5-10 155 will battle at QB really good field general at QB.

Richwood Rams
Head Coach:Bakari Guice(3rd year)
2024 Record:0-9
2024 Playoffs: No
2023 Record:5-6.1st Round lost to Caldwell HS
Key players Graduated: RB/OLB Andre Williams, QB/WR Marquise Moore, OG/DT Noah Harper, WR/SS Tyson Reed.
Team Outlook:2024 and 2023 season’s we struggled with not much depth, lost our QB to an injury early on in the season, and lost some close games in 2024. Right now we have depth in our Freshman & Soph group, 37 players, and overall in Spring we had 50 players, and looking to have close to 60 in the Fall, which is way up from the previous 2 years. Kids are also really working hard to get better said Head Coach Bakari Guice.”
Tidbits: Head Coach Bakari Guice will be going into his 5th year at Richwood High School. Coach started at the school as the team’s Defensive Coordinator in 2021 and 2022. Coach Guice also coached at ULM of Monroe and the University of Georgia. Guice is an Alum of Wossman High School in Monroe.
Spring Practice and Summer, there is competition for the starting Quarterback spot with two players competing, SR Trey Lane, and Terrell Alexander. Both players will be starting if one is not the QB in the end. Trey is 6-5 in height and 175 pounds with a strong arm, and Alexander has a good arm and great touch on the football. Both kids are great athletes and will give this program a chance to improve a lot in 2025.
The good news also is the Offensive Line returns a lot of experience and is the strong point of the team led by OG/DT Christin Miller 6-1 265 SR 3 year starter, OG/OT Courtney Burton 6-0 210 leader of the OL 3 year starter, OT/DE/DT Achilles Greer 6-3 265 SR 3 year starter and OC/OG Vincent Anderson 5-9 215 a new starter who had a great Spring. Skill talent on Offense will also be improved overall led by RB/WR Jordan Perkins 5-11 160, RB/WR Demarion Pollard 5-9 165, WR/CB Trae Dade 6-1 170 new starter, WR Sandowski Robinson 6-1 160 new starter, WR Kam Williams 6-2 165 new starter, and Athlete Ja’qari Brown 5-7 145.
The Defense also has a chance to be muc improved with more depth led by MLB Marcus Van Buren 5-11 200 a 3 year starter leader leader of the Defense with 4.6 speed in the forty, OLB Derrick Dickens 6-0 200 a 2nd year starter, Safety Nick Wright 5-8 150 a 2nd year starter, DE/OLB Brandon Butler 6-3 200 brings a pass rush off the edge after talking to coach likes this kid a lo, DT Jamarrion Reed 6-2 250 a new starter, LB/Nickel Jylon Dade 6-1 215 a new starter had a good Spring, FS Keantre Haley 5-8 152 a 2nd year starter small but tough as nails, and a few young players will compete for depth and playing time.
Special Teams Derrick Dickens will handle both the Punting & Kicking spots for the team. In the return game, several players will help here, like Jordan Perkins, Demarion Pollard, and Ja’quari Brown, as a Kick Returner with 4.45 speed in the forty.
Sterlington Panthers
Head Coach:Lee Doty(9th year)
2024 Record:11-4
2024 Playoffs: State Champs
2023 Record:11-2.District 6-0.
Key players Graduated: FS/WR Travis Adams(ULM), WR Jacob Breen, TE/DE Grayson Gilmore, K/P Aidan Parker(Tulane), Athlete Ayden Lingefelt(Central Baptist Baseball Pitcher)RB/LB Gaven Evans, RB Hagen Herring, OT Nathan Riordan, OL David Roach, TE/FB Sean Mcnair, DT Bennett Weems, OL Michael Bozeman.
Team Outlook: Our goal is always to go to the Dome. A lot of work to do with a few young kids who have a chance to grow up fast. Our kids, our coaching staff held it together in 2024. We started 2-3 on the season at one point and stayed together as a team. I am not a big fan of the byes in the playoffs. I like to keep playing, keep the momentum. Our incoming Freshman class has a chance to be the best I’ve seen since I’ve been here said Head Coach Lee Doty.”
Tidbits: Head Coach Lee Doty has led this program to 3 State Titles, and one Runner Up in his 8 years not bad at all.2025 they will go for a repeat and i think they have a good shot to at least go back to the Dome and it might end up a rematch against St.James High School in my opinion. In the 2025 State Title game, Sterlington rushed for 341 yards. Starting Quarterback J-Rob Breen not only won a State Championship in Football as the QB, but also started game 3 of the Baseball State Title game as the Pitcher and helped Sterlington High School win a Class 3A State Title in Baseball.
Not many programs run the ball as successfully as Sterlington High School, and in 2025, it will be quite a chore for any Defense to try and stop it again. QB J-Rob Breen returns for his 2nd year as the starting QB. He did a great job in his 1st year, and he will be bigger and stronger in 2025 at 6-1, 175 pounds. The run game will return starting 2024 All State Athlete/ RB David Hickman 5-8 170, who ran for 62 yards and 2 touchdowns in the State Title game. The run game has a few options. Also returning will be FB/LB T.J. Burch, a 4-year starter, 5-,7 185 had 4 touchdowns in 2024 and will also start at MLB for the team with 4.7 speed and power. Also getting reps will be FB/RB Carter McClinton 5-7 175, FB/OLB Kason Huggins 5-10 185, Landon Washington 5-11 170, also a Safety for the team, and RB/LB Presley Parks-Smith 6-0 180. The Offensive Line lost some big time leaders but also return some experience in 4 year starter Drew Whitlock 5-11 260 leader of the Offensive Line, OT Gideon Ashley 6-2 275 SR returning starter, OG Dawson Ferguson 6-0 240 a 2nd year starter, and new starter Sam Janssen 6-3 250 who lettered in 2024. There’s also some Offensive Lineman battling for reps or the last spot open OT Braxton Mahoney 6-1 270, OL Drew Pruitt 6-3 260, OL Luke Crain 5-10 240, and Seth Dear 5-8 200 is in the lead to win the starting Center spot. This Offense always has good Tight Ends as blockers, and in 2025, they have it that again with TE/LB Connor Justice 5-11 180, a 2nd year starter, and TE Chris Pearson 6-1 195, should start in his 1st year. The Offense is run heavy, but they can throw the ball and have good Athlete’s led by WR Noah Crain has good hands 5-9 165 and a really good blocker, WR Devyn Downs 6-2 190 is back with 4.5 speed in the forty and can play some Wildcat QB at times for the team, and then there’s WR Cullen Barnette who will rotate in for reps.
The Defense again will be experienced, tough, strong, quick, and of enough size to cause problems with a few young players mixed in. They are led by 4-year starting MLB/DE Tomarion Burch 6-1 240, who was named the District MVP on Defense, All State, and in the State Title game had an interception which clinched the game for Sterlington against St. James 35-28. Theres also returning Linebacker 2024 2nd team All State Cameron Bagwell 5-11 195 had 10 Sacks in 2024 all out tough kid, DE/MLB Drew Vocker 5-9 215 leader big time hitter returns, DT Blake Franklin 5-10 235 2nd year starter, Safety Sam Frazier Jr returns with close to 60 tackles in 2024 5-8 165 pounds plays like he’s 6-0 220, OLB Jadon Hall 6-1 190 2nd year starter,2 way starter Connor Justice LB 5-11 180, DE Steven English 6-0 185 great Athlete new starter lettered in 2024, DT Brelan Davis 6-2 285 1st year starter, CB Keenan Green 5-10 175 with 4.5 speed in the forty 2nd year starter, and 2 way starter David Hickman who play all over the place will play some Safety with his 4.5 speed in the forty. There’s also a few players still competing for starting spots or playing time DE Jeremy Mitchell 5-10 185 SR, DE Reed Williams 6-1 19, DB Nick Cooper 5-1 175, LB Presley Parks Smit, FS Landon Washingto, CB Jaelon Bush, DT Ladarious Harri,s and DE Logan Nicholson 5-9 215.
Special Teams will have a new Kicker in 2025, JaelonBush, and Punter Presley Parks Smith. Long Snapper will be Rylee Week, 5'9 170 in his 1st year to be a starter. In the return game, Sam Frazier Jr returns, and he is an exciting player to watch in the open field great Athlete as a Punt Returner.
