The Leesville Wampus Cats are currently 2-3 on the season as they had a very difficult non-district schedule. The Wampus Cats had losses against an undefeated Jena squad, Catholic (New Iberia) and a talented Opelousas team. However, they had two impressive victories over Jennings and Iowa, Leesville no pushover opponent..

The offense has a new starting quarterback in Corbett Robbins (6-0, 200) is built like a linebacker and has strong legs which makes him hard to tackle. The rest of the skill spots for the program are also very tough kids like three-year starter SS/FS Evan Combs (5-8, 170, Sr.), FS/OLB Jeremiah Lee (5-11, 186, Sr.), RB Xavier Ford (5-11, 200) who is a great kid with power and speed, WR Izaiah Farley (5-9, 168, 4.6 speed, Sr.), who is the state champion in the 168-pound weight class in powerlifting and the go-to player for catches for the offense, WR DeShun McNeely (5-10, 195), , WR Jackson Bealer (5-6, 145, Sr.) who is a spark plug for offense, OLB Matt Hazel (5-10, 185, Sr.) and CB Alex Williams (Sr.).

The offensive and defensive lines are a tough group as well lead by MLB Rashad Johnson (5-10, 215), a big-time leader, OT Kenneth Johnson (6-4, 225), OG J.C Lozano (5-9, 205, Sr.), DE Deandre Herron (5-10, 210), a leader, DR Jerett Baker (6-4, 250 Sr.), OL Dawson Parish (5-10, 200, Sr.), OL Andrew Lewis (6-0, 255), OL Brandon Welch (5-10, 215, Sr.) and OL Jaythan Hurd (5-10, 275).
