Head Coach Marques Lewis is working hard to get this program over the top and I think he will improve the Gators in 2023. W

The offense will center around All District DI Athlete/WR/DB Matthew Mayfield (6-3, 188, 4.45 speed) and does everything for his team as a three-year starter. Mayfield is a Mississippi State commit. At the quarterback position, Coach Lewis did not give me one in the Summer but I know two quarterbacks were battling Colton Marks and Cohen Arnaud both young players with ability who just need experience over time. Several two-way starters will get a chance to carry the football for this program. The run game will go through RB/LB Michael Wheaton (5-11, 170, Sr.), RB/DB Davonte Charlot-Goins (5-10, 175, Sr., 4.5 speed), RB/LB Matthew Wheaton (5-8, 145, 4.5 speed) and you might see a younger back also get some carries. In the receiving corps outside of Mayfield, you have WR/DB Trey Johnson (5-10, 145, 4.5 speed), WR/DB Tylon Major (5-10, 160, 4.5 speed) who is a three-year starter and leader for the program and WR/DB Kameron Callis (5-9, 165) also very Athletic. Key linemen starting both sides of the ball for the program are OL/DL Anthony Smith (6-0, 200), OL/DL Casey Charles (5-8, 225), OL Bryson Wetzel (5-11, 305), OL/DL Nathaniel Ortego (5-9, 245) and DE Kenyan Brown (6-3, 205).

The defense returns a talented group in Michael Wheaton, Matthew Wheaton, OLB Channing Pickney and LB Chandlor Pickney.

On special teams you have punter/kicker Grant Domengeaux (5-7, 150, Sr.) in 2023 does a really good job.
