Brock Bourgeois
By Lee Brecheen
Class 2026, Quarterback, Brock Bourgeois, Riverside Academy.
One of the toughest kids I have seen play these last 3 years in football is Brock Bourgeois for Riverside Academy High School located in Reserve, Louisiana. He reminds me a little bit of former Archbishop Rummel HS and Nicholls State QB Chase Fourcade with his leadership, same frame, ability to run, good arm, and command of the game.
Brock stands 6-0 and is close to 180 pounds and has a chance to sign for 2 sports, Football or Baseball, for college in the end. In football, he has been named All District 3 years in a row as a Quarterback and could be All District 4 years when his career is over in High School, a rare feat not many get in sports. He also led his football team to a State Championship game in 2023 as the state runner-up in football. In football in 2025, he currently has over 1,200 yards passing with 23 total touchdowns. His best passing game in 2025 was against St. Thomas Aquinas HS, 280 yards with 4 touchdowns. That’s really impressive considering the Offense centers around being balanced, and some games can just run the ball.
In Baseball, he plays Shortstop, is a two-year All-District, and the Riverside Baseball team was a 2025 semifinalist. This past Summer in Baseball, facing some of the best pitching in the Country in Georgia and Texas batted .400.
His parents also played sports. Mom played high school Softball at John Curtis High School in River Ridge, and Dad played college Baseball at Louisiana College.
Brock told me in Recruiting that he doesn’t have offers yet, but is in talks with Southeast Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma for Baseball. He will also be taking a visit to Southeast Arkansas in November for Baseball.
Brock is also a great student in the classroom with a current GPA of 3.6 and an ACT score of 23.

Quotes from Brock Bourgeois.
“I need to improve on staying mentally strong and prepared in Football. Baseball is getting faster and staying consistent. There’s also work to be done to improve in both sports.
Coach Jordan Loving (former Riverside QB) and Dexter Fagloust are my QB position coaches. I can’t imagine having anyone else but them in my corner. They are the reason that I understand the strategy of this game and mentally the player that I am today. For baseball, my former head coach Marty Luquet, current head coach Jade Falgoust, infield position coach Don Ray Bourgeois(my dad), and pitching coach Thomas Diamond(former MLB Pitcher) have all impacted me. Through constructive criticism, they have all helped me become the person and player that I am today. Without them, who knows where I would be in relation to my maturity level and knowledge of the game that I love?
The Riverside Fans always support me and our football team. They really bring the hype with a fan tunnel as we exit the locker room and fireworks before every game. Let’s not forget the cheer squad that makes our run-through banner every week. Since transferring to Riverside High School, it has been my home for 5 years, and I am graduating with no regrets.
We are currently 8-1 and are looking to make a run in the playoffs. This is my favorite season so far, not only because this is my senior year, but the bond that this team has with each other is special this year. We are working together toward the ultimate goal to win the state in the Dome.”
