Recruiting Spotlight: Carson Riser, D’Arbonne Woods Charter School, Farmerville, Louisiana

Offensive lineman Carson Riser of D’Arbonne Woods Charter School is a dominant force in Louisiana’s Class of 2027. Standing at 6’2’’ and weighing 280 pounds, Riser is an imposing prospect who is able to switch between guard and tackle on the field.

Riser put together an elite junior season, recording more than 60 pancakes. His play on the field earned him first-team all-district and all-state honors, but football was not the only sport where Riser shined. He also qualified for state in track.

According to Lee Brecheen, Riser is still being overlooked as a guy who can be a leader at the next level.

“He’s a big-time sleeper in North Louisiana, a 3-year starter with good feet, and he is the leader of the offensive line,” said Brecheen.

Riser also brings impressive strength numbers to the table, posting a 260-pound bench press, 360-pound squat,  245-pound clean, and a 440-pound deadlift.

In the classroom, Riser maintains a 3.8 GPA, and he scored a 28 on the ACT, showing a strong commitment to his academics as well. Once he gets to college, Riser wants to major in engineering.

Riser spoke about how his team is going in as the underdog and what they have to prove to everyone this upcoming season.

“The atmosphere at our school is that we have something to prove because we lost a lot of seniors in the past two years, and nobody thinks we are going to be any good. But we seniors have something to prove, and we know that we are going to be a great team this year,” said Riser.

Riser plans on going to many camps for schools in Louisiana this summer, as he tries to gain interest from colleges in his home state.
