Class 2026 Running Back Landin(Meathead) Brett Dardar South Lafourche High School
One thing I don’t see as much anymore is old school downhill Running Backs in High School who people for the most part don’t want to tackle thru the hole or in the open field, and today that type of player is Landin Dardar 5-10 202 pounds RB from South Lafourche High School, who in the past 4 years has run over or past several players with deceptive speed with a great burst once in the hole running full blast. Dardar I have seen play in person in 2023 and again this year on film full game in 2025 and at times comparison think of former LSU Running Back Hokie Gajan also a former New Orleans Saints RB played for Baker High School back in the day, who was a tough nosed player and would wear down a Defense refusing to go down and surprise you with some long runs once the Defense got tired of contact.
Landin also plays Basketball, Track & Field, and played Baseball his Freshman year. He was named Freshman MVP of the Offense on varsity. He has a chance to break the school record for career rushing record and the school’s career touchdown record. He just needs 9 more touchdowns to do so in his senior season.
He also has a unique Nickname . When Landin was 3 years old at a family Christmas party, he was determined to get something done that was giving him trouble that had absolutely no significance. A family friend told him to stop being a Meathead, just get it done. He gave a look of I’ll show you, and Meathead stuck ever since, said Mom Marla Cooper.”
Both of Landin's parents had offers to play college Athletics, and both played Sports in High School. His dad was a really good Athlete. Brett(Boogie) Dardar played football at South Lafourche High School from 2003 to 2007, RB/TE/LB, Soccer, Powerlifting, and Track & Field. Mom is a really good Athlete also. Marla Terrebonne Cooper played Volleyball, Basketball, Point Guard & Shooting Guard, Softball, and Track & Field all 4 years for 4 sports at South Lafourche High School.

Quotes from Landin Brett Dardar Below
I started playing football when I was 12 years old.I started playing for a coach named Keagan Polkey.I played at Cut-Off Middle School(LCO MS).I was a Fullback and Linebacker in the 7th and 8th grade.I also was on the Kickoff and Kickoff return teams and in my 8th grade year, was Defensive MVP of the team.
I settled in as a Running Back at 14 years old as a Freshman at South Lafourche High School.I started getting varsity reps as a Freshman on varsity.
I get my power as a runner from working hard in the weight room, concentrating on my lower body and core. I currently Max Squat in the weight room at 465 pounds and Clean Max at 245 pounds. I run determined because it comes from wanting to reach my personal goals and feeds off getting yards after contact.
My Running Backs coach, Mason Boudreaux he played college football for Nicholls State University from 2014 to 2018. He was a Fullback/Running Back. He’s taught me slow through/fast through. That’s his term to be patient for the hole to open, and when it opens, hit it full speed! He taught me to get as low as possible and burst through contact. He has etched it in me to always fall forward when being tackled. Extra pointers, tips, and techniques are something he always has readily available to share at all times. I wouldn’t want my Running Back coach to be anyone else.
Recruiting is a learning experience process that my parents and I have been pushing the highlight tapes on my X accountant on NCSA and Ryzer. A few schools have asked if I would consider walking on. I strongly feel that if a school wants me, they’ll offer me. My measurables may not be what colleges go after, but let’s put the pads on! I’ll prove what I can do.
I’ve traveled from Texas to Alabama to attend college and exposure camps. Also seen Millsaps, Huntingdon, U Arkansas at Monticello, Bellhaven, and Nicholls State are the ones that stood out the most to me. My family and I have a visit scheduled on November 8th to tour the school, facilities, and attend a game at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama.
Playing for South Lafourche High School is a feeling like no other. Community support, brotherhood, family atmosphere, and always having a coach have my back are just some of what it’s like to be a Tarpon!
