Ouachita Christian HS (Monroe, LA)

In 2023 head coach Steven Fitzhugh of Ouachita Christian High School over breakfast on one of my trips to the Monroe area told me look out for my Kicker Gavin Polk he has a chance to be the best kicker to ever come out of OCS HS and when coach said to me that I was like wow because Ouachita Christian High School is known for producing great Kickers and that was quite a compliment. I was able to watch Gavin Polk Kick in a few games in 2024 and was very impressed seeing all the kickers in the state, and he has one magical leg. There is only one Kicker I have seen in person that comes close to Gavin as a Kicker in the Class of 2026, and that is Gavin Higgins of Parkview Baptist HS in Baton Rouge.
What I think makes Gavin stick out among other Kickers is his ability to kick off almost automatically 5 yards and beyond deep in the End Zone for touchbacks, and his range is easy close to 60 yards in, and he is consistent. This is a kid who, day one, can go to a high-level DI school in the end and start right away as a special player for his position. Gavin Polk is 6’2 in height and 170 pounds currently. Has a GPA of 3.9 in the classroom and an ACT Score of 27. He is 96% in his 3 years making extra points, and has a long of 52 yards for Field Goals made in a real game for his career this year in 2025. Gavin was All-State in 2023 and 2024 and even All-District in his career as a Punter and 2nd-Team All-State as a Punter in 2024. In Baseball, Gavin was All-District in both 2023 and 2024 both years as a pitcher. His 1st offer was Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi, one of many to come before he graduates. He is ranked nationally as the number #17 ranked Kicker in the Class of 2026.

“Playing for Coach Fitzhugh at Ouachita Christian High School has been an incredible experience. He has built a program with a strong culture of discipline, hard work, and faith, and I’ve been blessed to be a part of it since my Freshman year. Starting that young gave me a lot of confidence, but also pushed me to keep working harder to earn the trust of my coaches and teammates. The recruiting process has been exciting-it’s humbling to talk to coaches and programs I’ve looked up to, and it motivates me to keep improving every day said Gavin Polk.”
