Evan Poole

Class 2026 Recruit Sleeper OLB/DE Evan Poole, Brusly High School.

In 2025, I was recently able to go watch in person Brusly High School play Plaquemine High School and go talk to the team that morning at the High School.

One kid caught my eye that coach had told me about this Spring, Evan Poole, who is a 6-2 in height and a 190-pound Outside Linebacker/DE for Brusly High School. This kid has so much upside for college. He is long in build with the ability to carry 230 pounds in college in another year on his long 6-2 frame with great feet and a great student, 3.9 GPA in the Classroom and an ACT Score currently of a 25. I was impressed with his ability to run down Running Backs and has the foot speed who can't coach for the next level. Once he fills out in college, he will be a force to be reckoned with . I think he will be a Pass Rusher in college as an OLB/DE.

Evan has a few family members who have done well in Sports, like his Cousin Douglas Coleman, former Zachary HS WR, Texas Tech, and also played for the Chicago Bears. Douglas Father Doug Coleman played for White Castle HS, played college ball for Eastern New Mexico, and was inducted into the American Football Hall of Fame. This is a kid who also runs Track and was a part of a team that won state for the 1st time in 30 years at Brusly HS. Evan runs the 400-meter dash best time of 49.50. Also, Wrestles for the school got 3rd place in Div 2 at the State Meet in 2024.

Quotes Below from Evan

I started playing football when I was about 7 years old. Back then, I was pretty big and fast for my age, so I played both Fullback and Defensive End. When I got older, I didn’t play football again until I got to the 8th grade at Brusly, where I played Defensive End. It wasn't until the 11th grade that I started playing some Outside Linebacker. Leading to the position I play today, where I switch between both positions.

I’ve had three main position coaches: Coach Ricky, Coach Jimmy Bible, and Coach DeAndre Williams(Former Tulane Starter)-and they’ve taught me that paying attention to the small things is what separates good players from great ones. They’ve helped me grow not just as an Athlete, but as a teammate and a person, and they’ve prepared me to handle the challenges that come with playing at the next level. Recruiting, I’ve been in touch with a former coach of mine from Brusly HS, Earvin Moore, who now coaches at Southwest Mississippi Junior College. He came out to watch me play recently and said he liked what he saw. At this point, he’s the only coach I have spoken with, but I’m staying focused on my season and pushing myself every day. My goal is to continue improving and be fully prepared when the right opportunities come.

I believe our goal for the rest of the season is to show up and make a statement, establishing Brusly High School as a team everyone needs to watch. Personally, I want to leave a lasting impact on the team, setting an example for the younger players so they’re ready to step up once we seniors are gone said Evan Poole.”
