Recruiting Spotlight: Class 2026 Sleeper Recruits St. Martinville High School Football

Class 2026 Sleeper Recruits St. Martinville High School Football

By Lee Brecheen

The St. Martinville High School football team has a lot of sleeper Class 2026 senior talent that I thought deserved to get more exposure for this write-up.

Today we will talk about Athlete Kohen Clues 6-1 200 pounds, Twins Ja’Korey Blanchard 6-5 175 WR/TE, and Jorey Blanchard 6-5 175 Defensive End, CB/WR Kristian Batiste 5-1 155, Bobby Harris Offensive Lineman 6-3 290, WR/CB/Safety Ky’Lun Skipper 5-8 160 pounds, and Zyrian Johnson Linebacker 6-0 210 pounds.

Kohen Clues has offers from several schools, Southern and Grambling lead, and he really likes McNeese State Cowboys in Baton Rouge, where he recently took in a game. Clues Dad Reggie Clues, played for Louisiana Tech University on Scholarship. Clues currently counting the 1st round of the playoffs has 126 tackles on the season. Clues is a 3-year starter and reads like a college player, and really football tough from what I saw on film, he’s a baller and DI all the way. Kyrie Francisco is 6-1 and weighs close to 200 pounds, and a DI ala l day long QB for the team, but an Athletic Linebacker/Safety for college, and I think, like Clues loves to hit, also a 3-year starter and will hit you as a football player.Ky’Lun Skipper is not a big kid, but plays big and will play the run and pass. Bobby Harris 6-3 290 plays Left Tackle for the team and would make a really good IAA Offensive Guard, I think, or D2 player. Bobby Harris, SR, played high school football for Carencro High School from 2000 to 2003. Harris also plays some nose guard for the team at Defensive Tackle. The Blanchard twins have so much upside, being new to football for this Fall, both can run and have a big Basketball background prior to playing football this year. I think both Blanchard brothers, Ja’Korey and Jorey, could weigh over 240 pounds each and both be Tight Ends or Defensive Ends and big-time players with another year of football filling out because both have great feet. Kristian Batiste is a Wide Receiver and Defensive Back for the team, and he looks taller on the field than 5-11 because he is long and very Athletic for either spot in college, a sleeper. Batiste is also new to football this fall and is a Basketball player with a lot of ability. His dad, Michael Batiste, played college football for Tulane University, and his older brother played Baseball at Southern University in Baton Rouge. Zyrian Johnson missed the season with an injury, and here’s a kid who is an IAA signee type Linebacker All District in 2024 with really good speed at 6-0, 210 pounds. His dad played Defensive Line at St. Martinville HS and was offered a scholarship for football to McNeese State out of high school. His current Linebacker coach, Trae Williams, is also his Uncle, who played at St. Martinville HS as a really good Running Back I covered over the years.

Quote from Head Football Coach Garrett Kramer, St. Martinville High School

I think Clues has the athletic ability to play both Linebacker and Running Back in college. Francisco is a Quarterback for us, but in college, an Athlete of Outside Linebacker. Batiste is fast with good cover skills. Skipper is a really good cover corner back. Jorey is a Tight End for us and 1st year playing football with upside. Jakorey is a long Defensive End/Wide Receiver, 1st year playing football, with good upside. Offensive Lineman Bobby Harris is a really good lineman for us sleeper from a small college, and Zyrian Johnson is a talented Linebacker who missed most of the season with an injury.

Quotes from Players

The reason Southern and Grambling are so high on me is that they have seen me play in person. I’ve been talking to coach Goode and coach Brewer from McNeese State in Lake Charles, and I have talked to coach Viator, said Kohen Clues.”

It’s been fun playing football at St. Martinville HS.Me and me brother will be playing Basketball for 4 years straight once football is over. We both have enjoyed the football experience in our first year of ever playing the game said Ja’Korey and Jorey Blanchard, twins.”

I look forward to bouncing back stronger than ever from my injury and missing this football season. I wish I were out there with my teammates, and I think the season has been great for our program said Zyrian Johnson.”

I always wanted to give football a try, but never did because I was strictly a Basketball player. Going into my senior year, I felt that I should try it out so that I wouldn’t regret it. I’ve also been playing Basketball for the past 3 years, along with Track went to regionals Freshman and sophomore years. I was also named Student of the Year at St Martinville Senior High for 2025 said Kristian Batiste.”

I also play Soccer, which helps me with my footwork along with Track, which keeps me in shape so when the next football season comes around, I have faster feet, plus stronger strength-wise wise said Bobby Harris.”

Although this was my first year playing for Head Coach Kreamer, I had played for the past 2 years for Coach Kreamer on his 7v7 football team. Week 7 of this year was probably my best game tackles, with 20 tackles and 1 rushing touchdown as a Running Back said Kohen Clues.”
