Warren Easton High School Class of 2026 Sleeper Wide Receivers

Davon Edwards

Joshua Parker

I had a chance to watch some football games this year and watched Warren Easton play John Curtis High School and came away really impressed with 2 players under the radar in recruiting at the Wide Receiver spot Davon Edwards 5-10 in height and 160 pounds with great hands, really good speed with high effort when the ball is in the air he will fight for the ball and win many times. Davon also runs a legit 4.43 in the forty. The other Wide Receiver is Joshua Parker, 6-5 in height and 178 pounds in weight. Parker is more of an outside Wide Receiver with his height and ability to also grab passes high in the air, and Edwards fits more of the Slot/WR flanker spot for a college team. All college teams recruit basically three types of Wide Receivers for their Offense, and these are 2 young men who would be steals in recruiting. Parker has a lot of room to get up to 200 plus pounds and is a new starter still learning the position with great upside. Edwards has some of the best hands I’ve seen on a Wide Receiver in Louisiana. Parker can run a 4.56 in the forty, which is fast for a tall Wide Receiver. I really feel like one day both of these kids will have a chance to be in an NFL camp if they keep evolving at the high rate they are right now,, and both could end up getting drafted like players before them from the program.
Quotes from both players below
My recruitment has gone well. I am humbled and grateful for anything coming my way. I currently hold offers from Florida International, Troy U, and a few others. I have been communicating with the coach at McNeese State University in Lake Charles. I was invited to an McNeese State game on August 30th that I attended, said Davon Edwards.” I appreciated seeing the players and getting a feel for what a game day could look like at their facilities.
I would love to visit Miami U and see the FIU campus, football facilities, as I am looking for a university that I can call home and that would be a good fit for me. I would like to be with a coach who will help develop me, guide me, and challenge me to be the very best coming out of New Orleans and go to the NFL, as I am very coachable. I give 120 percent, I give my body, my spirit, and all I have to be better! said Davon Edwards.” I have a cousin, Sedrick Van Pran, who graduated from Warren Easton High School. He took his talents to Georgia U,, winning 2 National Championships. He was blessed to be a part of the 2025 NFL Draft and drafted by the Buffalo Bills as a Center. I wish nothing but the best for my cousin said Davon Edwards.” I grew up liking the U of Oregon and the U of Miami. I would love to be a part of any one of those two amazing programs.
Recruiting has been slow for me, but I had a conversation with Arkansas Monticello University in Arkansas about a visit. Other than that, I have just been grinding and waiting for my opportunity. My favorite college growing up as a kid would be Texas A&M U.My big brother Tevin Talley played high school football for Port Allen near Baton Rouge and had offers out of high school to Baylor and Nicholls State U said Joshua Parker.”
My strength, I think, is my route running and just being tough. My favorite WRs to ever come out of Warren Easton are Tyron Johnson and Jashawn Johnson. My top NFL wide receiver would be Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He is just so consistent in routes and run-down passes, one of the best, said Joshua Parker.”
Some facts about both players.
Joshua Parker just became a starter playing football on varsity this year because the school is known for producing some of the best WR talent in the state, year after year, and players wait their turn.
Both players are qualified in the classroom.
Davon Edwards has a nickname called SIP because at one time he lived in the State of Mississippi. Davon also in 2022 was also named the 1st Louisiana Stunt kid and started as a stunt kid in the movie Home team on Netflix with actor Kevin James.
