Lafayette Christian Knights
Head Coach: Matthew Standiford(1st year)
2024 Record: 6-7

Team Outlook: We got a really good group of seniors coming back. I think it’s one of the best senior groups to ever come out of the school, among many that the school has had. We have 13 seniors back, and most of these kids are 3-year starters or 2-year starters with a ton of experience for the program, and leaders of the program said Head Coach Matthew Standiford.”
Tidbits: Head Coach Matthew Standiford is an Alum of Westminster High School(Class 2013). This will be his 1st head coaching job. Coach Standiford and Defensive Coordinator Mitch Craft took over the team around week 5 of 2024 as CO-Head Coaches and were named head coaches after the 2024 season. Lafayette Christian High School, in the past 7 years, has really put on a show as much as any program in the State. From 2017 to 2023, Lafayette Christian made 7 straight State Championship games in Football, and won the first 3 and lost the last 3. Not many high schools in the United States can say that. Boys Basketball won their 5th straight State Title in 2025.
The Offense for the Knights will be as good as any you will see in the Lafayette area again for the 9th straight year, led by returning starting 2024 Hon Mention All State/All District Quarterback Braylon Walker, 5-11, 175 pounds. Walker in 2024 was All District and will be a 3-year starter in the program overall. One of the best Wide Receivers in Louisiana returns as 3 3-year starter. 2024 All State/All District/Offensive District MVP Brayden Allen, 6-2, 180, had 55 catches for 1,055 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2024, All State, and All District Offensive MVP 2024. The new starting RB will be Caiden Bellard, 5-10 190, and WR/RB Jace Babineaux, 5-10 160, will get some carries as an RB and play a lot of WR for the team. More Wide Receivers starting on Offense are 2024 All District WR Draylon August 6-1 170, a 2nd year starter, and WR Kaden Ledet 5-7 160, a big playmaker for the Offense also. The Offensive Line will be led by OT Torrey Landry, 6-3 240, 2nd year starter, OL/OT Kaleb Campbell, 6-9 305, and 2nd Team All District in 2024 OL Gavin Aguirre, 5-7 225, a 2nd year starter, with some spots open to win in the Fall. Tight End Wyatt Whitney will be a talented new starter on the Offense as a blocker and WR.
The Defense returns 6 talented starters with a ton of experience, led by 2024 2nd Team All State/All District FS/SS Luke Green, 6-2 185, a 4-year starter, big time leader, and hitter, All District in 2024 and 2023. Also back is OLB Kaleb Simon 5-9 180 2nd year starter, CB Sky Ryan 6-0 180 a 3 year starter, DE/OLB Jaimason Marzell 6-2 205 a 2nd year starter 4.6 speed in the forty, DE/DT Michael Bonnet Jr 6-2 255 a 3 year starter Hon Mention All State/ All District in 2024, and OLB/DE Jayden Arceneaux 5-10 225 a 2nd year starter. More players to keep an eye on are Safety/WR Tristan Jones 5-10 165, a new starter and will play both DB/WR for the team, and DT Eli Aguirre 6-0 265 will rotate in on the Defensive Line.
Special Teams Kicker is still wide open going into the Fall. After talking to the coach, 3 players are competing for the Kicker and Punting job. In the return game, Kaden Ledet returns and will be one of the best in the District as a playmaker for Special Teams in 2025.
Lafayette Renaissance Tigers
Head Coach: Hunter Landry(2nd year)
2024 Record: 7-4
2024 Playoffs:1st Round lost to Parkview Baptist HS
Key players graduated: RB Dwayne Johnson, RB/DB, RB/DB Jaquelle Smith.OT/DT Tyronne Jacques
Team Outlook:2024 was our first year to play for District. We made the playoffs. Going into year two, people now know about us. We will get everyone’s best shot now as a young program. Build off last year’s success said Head Coach Hunter Landry.”
Tidbits: Head Coach Hunter Landry was the head coach of Lafayette Christian High School. Trev Faulk is an assistant coach for the team. Coach Faulk helps with the football program from grades 5th to 8th like an Athletic Director, and helps with the varsity also . Faulk is a former Lafayette High School All-American Linebacker, former LSU Linebacker, and former NFL Linebacker. Coach Landry is an alum of Breaux Bridge High School.
The Offense returns one of the best Quarterbacks in the District in Kenan Brown Jr led the District in 2024 with 2,763 passing yards,31 touchdowns, and a completion rate of 60 % percent. The WR group is experienced and athletic, led by WR/DB Ja’Courey Duhon, 5-9 160, a 2nd year starter with 48 catches,814 yards, and 10 touchdowns in 2024. You also have back at WR/DB Ashton Joseph 5-10 155 2nd year starter 330 yards receiving 5 touchdowns, WR Shemar Taylor 6-2 165 390 yards receiving 4 touchdowns, and WR Zion Batiste 6-1 160, a new starter. The run game will have two starters that will rotate in for carries: Da’marion Green, 5-11 205, and RB Jaydon Polk, 5-7 150, a 2nd year starter who ran for 270 yards with 2 touchdowns in 2024. The Offensive Line is led by three really good players in OT Kristion Owens, 5-10 240, 2nd year starter, OC Brandon Cormier, 5-9 240, 2nd year starter, and OG Xavier Dickerson, 6-3 315, a new starter.
The Defense return’s leading tackler Kaycee Sellers Linebacker 5-9 190 2nd year starter, OLB/DE A.J Charles 6-5 215 2nd year starter,2024 All District DT Tyler Yokum 5-10 230, DE Trilon Francis 6-3 220 All District in 2024,2024 All District OLB Kaycee Ky Sellers 5-10 185 2nd year starter, FS Jaymien Zenon 5-10 175 2nd year starter, and CB Dylan Gray 6-1 155. You also have 2 great players who start on both sides of the football in DB Ashton Joseph and DB Shermar Taylor.
Special Teams Kicker will be Jayden Zeno, a 1st year starter, 5-10, 150 pounds. Punter will be Kenan Brown Jr. In the return game, Ja’Courey Duhon returns as one of the best in the District.
Lake Arthur Tigers
Head Coach: Tarius Davis(6th year)
2024 Record: 4-6
2024 Playoffs:1st Round
2023 Record:7-5 2nd Round lost to Oak Grove HS

Team Outlook: This group is coming back. We have been coaching these kids for a long time, with 11 seniors coming back. We lost 13 seniors from the 2024 team. Some talented football players are coming back to help us. Excited about this group, they are close on and off the field said Head Coach Tarius Davis.”
Tidbits: Head Coach Tarius Davis, back in the day, was a star football player for McNeese State University, and also is an alum of Lake Arthur High SchoolClass of 1996). The Tigers will have a young Offensive Line in 2025, losing 3 starters from the 2024 season to graduation.
The Offense will return two Quarterbacks with experience: Jaxson Davis 5-9 165 a SR with a dual-threat set who started some games in 2024, and QB Cameron Bonin 5-10 185 started some games in 2024, threw for 774 yards with 9 touchdowns in 2024, has a cannon arm, and is more of a pocket passer. So both players complement each other in a different set for the position. Coach told me they will settle on one starter by week 1 of the upcoming season. Whoever doesn’t start will start at another position to help the team win games.
Several players are returning with experience, mixed with some new starters. Here are some players to look out for in 2025 OG/DE Tyler Mallett 5-10 265 SR 43 tackles with 11 tackles behind the line in 2024 big time leader, WR/CB Gabe Turner 5-8 160 a 3 year starter go to WR on Offense, LB/RB Tyler Campbell 5-11 165 a 2nd year starter, WR Zaiden Hagger 5-10 160 new starter, RB/SS Carter Guillotte 5-9 160 a 2nd year starter with 447 yards with 4 touchdowns in 2024, RB/SS Jayden Prudhomme 5-10 175 a 2nd year starter 4.5 speed in the forty, CB/WR Breyon McZeal 6-0 160 a 3 year starter, SS/WR Khye Hornsby 5-10 170 2nd year starter, DT/OT Merrick Jones 5-10 270 2nd year starter, TE/DE Brock Onellion 6-3 180 2nd year starter, Center Cy Breaux 5-10 245 2nd year starter, OG Aiden Simon 5-9 220 2nd year starter,2024 Hon Mention All State LB Wyatt Monceaux 5-9 170 pounds lead the team with 97 tackles with 9 tackles behind the line in 2024 big time leader, and new starter Kandon Simon WR 5-10 165 will bring another playmaker to the mix in 2025 for the Offense.
Special Teams returns Cameron Bonin as the Kicker and starting Punter. Cameron was Hon Mention All State/All District in 2024 as a Punter, and in 2023 was All District as a Kicker.
Notre Dame Pioneers

Team Outlook: Bounce Back 2024 season was one of my worst records since I’ve been here at Notre Dame High School. Turn it over, get rolling, and turn the page, as they say, move forward. We will need guys to step up and learn quickly in a tough District. We lost a special player to graduation, the Linebacker District MVP on Defense, Jackson Casanova, and a few others we have to replace for a new year in 2025 said Head Coach Lewis Cook.”
Tidbits: Head Coach Lewis Cook will enter the 2025 season with 307 career wins, coaching high school football at Notre Dame High School,401 wins overall as a coach,40 years as a head coach, and will be 51 years as a coach in 2025. Notre Dame High School Football made the playoffs for the 38th time in 2024. Coach Cook has 4 State Titles as head coach of Notre Dame High School 2000,2009,2015, and 2018. Coach Cook also has a State Title with Crowley High School in 1989.
The Offense will have a chance to be good in 2025. The new starting QB will probably be the best Athlete on the team in 2025. All District RB Drew LeJeune, 6-0, 190 a returning starter who was a WR in 2024 with a 4.5 legit forty time speed and knows the Offense as an upcoming senior leader of the team. There will be some talented Running Backs to help out in a rotation RB William Lavergne 5-10 175 a converted DB from the 2024 season was a starter in 2024, RB Joachim Bourgeois 5-7 160 another legit 4.5 in the forty player has experience, RB Braxton Meche 5-11 165, and RB Gabe Menard 5-9 150 will give this team a chance to have one of the better run games in the District. The WR position also will be strong lead by 2nd year starter Cameron Stelly 6-0 182 a very fast player also SR will play some CB on Defense too, WR Brice Duron 5-8 170 might be the fastest player on the team, WR Julien Duhon 5-10 150, and WR Maddox Andrepont 6-2 165. The Offensive Line will have a few new faces but some talented young players lead by SR leader Eli Pommier 5-6 205, OC/OG Jonah Blake 6-1 215 new starter, OT/OG Brayan Jasso-Fre 5-10 245 new starter, OL/DL Scott Sibley 6-3 280 new starter, and OL Brodie LeJeune 6-3 250 another new starter. Also back on Offense will be the Athletic TE/FB Sam Ca, 6-1 210, 2nd year starter with good hands and a very good blocker.
The Defense graduated 10 starters and will have many new faces on the field in 2025. The only starter back will be leader Wesley Duplechin, 5-9, 180, All District in 2024, a 3-year starter OLB in 2024. More players to keep a eye on are CB Griffin Doucet 5-6 145 started some games in 2024 really good Athlete, DT Drew Bertrand 5-9 190, DT Drake Bertrand 5-9 190, LB Dallas Beslin 5-7 170, DE Zach Mixon 6-2 210 lettered in 2024, LB Jack Vondestien 6-1 200, LB Joseph Hensgens 6-0 180, Safety Brayden Fry 5-7 165, Safety Jackson Trahan 5-11 160, Safety Jude Duplechin 5-11 160, CB Liam Scarbrough 6-0 175, DT Hayden Bergeaux 5-10 190, and 2 way starter CB Cameron Stelly 6-0 182.
Special Teams will be one of the best in the District with the return of two Kickers who got experience in 2024 for the Pio.s Kicker Gavin Thomas, 5-8 155, handled Kickoffs in 2024, and Kicker Ty Savant, 5-8 155, handled more of the Field Goals and Extra Points in 2024. Both kids did a great job and have experience.
Welsh Greyhounds
Head Coach:Ronnie Courville(3rd year)
2024 Record:7-6
2024 Playoffs:1st Round beat West St. Mary HS,2nd Round won over Ferriday HS, and 3rd Round lost to Haynesville HS
2023 Record:9-4.Quarterfinals lost to Logansport HS

Team Outlook: We are similar to our teams in the past; we don't have tons of guys with stars by their names on the roster, but what we do have is just a bunch of country kids with huge hearts, who play with discipline and toughness. We also graduated 12 seniors from last year's team that were starters said Head Coach Ronnie Courville.”
Tidbits: Head Coach Ronnie Courville is a Jennings High School alumnus, Class of 2014, where he played Safety on Defense and played for Hall of Fame coach Rusty Phelps.Coach Courville was a student coach the year Welsh High School Football won the State Title in 2017. Coach Courville is a college grad from McNeese State University in Lake Charles.Coach Courville and his staff are doing a great job in their 1st/ 2 year with the program, as the head coach of the Welsh High School reached the Quarterfinals in 2023, and in 204,3rd round of the playoffs.
There is a small group of players with experience as starters coming back lead by RB/WR/FS Jordan Strong Hon Mention All State/All District in 2024 6-1 187 3rd year as a starter had a monster year in 2024 with 6 interceptions, and 2 interceptions ran back for touchdowns on Defense, OT/DT Jayden Turnley 6-2 345 a 3 year starter, OG/OC/DL Hagun Bryant 5-10 235 3 year starter, and DT Keegan Grimes 6-1 290 SR a 3 year starter. There is also a small group of players who are experienced from starting or lettering in 2024 OLB Gus Doise 5-10 155 SR, OL Noah Lefranc 5-6 205, TE Nicholas Gillett 5-10 175, and QB Grant Haydel 6-2 170 started 2 games in 2024.
