Week 1 is against Hamilton Christian in Lake Charles at HCHS. Also on the schedule, I think, are tough games is Erath High School, Grand Lake, and Lake Arthur. Jonesboro Hodge, and Rosepine.

Team Outlook: Had so many injuries in 2024, we ended up starting 4 different Quarterbacks in 2024. We also had a new Offense in 2024, and with the injuries, it was a tough season. We will run the Double Wing-T Offense in 2025. More ball control for the team in 2025. We just need to stay healthy in 2025, and we will be fine said Head Coach Ronnie Simmons.”
Tidbits: Coach Simmons and staff do a great job, and I think they will bounce back in 2025. Coach Simmons was the former Head Coach for Oberlin High School for 4 years, where he did a great job, and now, in year 7 at East Beauregard High School, will continue to build and teach players the game the right way.
The program returns some key players to work with to get the program back on track, led by Defensive Player 2024 All District Drew Fontenot 5-10 180, an OLB/Safety type with 95 tackles in 2024, along with 3 fumble recoveries. Key players Graduated: QB/SS Anthony Berry, WR/DB Ladarius Privitera, OL/DL Augustus James, RB/WR/LB Kenneth Givens, OL/DL Braden Willis, WR/LB Connor Joseph.
Team Outlook:2024 was a big year for the program. We broke the longest losing streak in Louisiana, which was 23 straight losses, but won a game in week 1 of 2024. It was a big boost morale-wise, but we are still trying to get up that hill as a program. Things are going in a positive direction. We won our last 3 games in 2024 said Head Coach John Daugherty.”
Tidbits: The Pickering program, after talking to Head Coach John Daugherty, will again not play for District in 2025 or go to the playoffs. The good news this will be the last year to not compete for District honors, and in 2026, the program will go back to a for District honors.
The coaches really have done a great job building back a program that almost did not exist anymore for football on the varsity level. When coach Daugherty and staff took over, they started building the program back one brick at a time.
Here are players coming up in the program to look for in 2025, RB/MLB Braden Ford a 3 year starter with over 500 yards rushing in 2024 with 4 Touchdowns, LB Xavier Mitchell a returning starter leader 5-10 220 SR, HB/LB Hunter Noel 5-11 185 a 3 year starter leader SR, OG Mariano Bunch 6-1 195 leader 3 year starter, OC/DL Matthew Blankenship 5-11 250 a 3 year starter, QB/DB L.J Witte 5-10 150 2nd year starter leader, OL/DL Landon Noel 6-3 270 2nd year starter, RB Israel Araiza 5-9 155 ran for over 400 yards with 4 touchdowns in 2024 will be the new starting Quarterback in 2025, OT/DE Jackson Laplante 6-4 205 2nd year starter, WR/DB Caleb Falls 6-0 170 2nd year starter, WR/TE/DE Braxton Baker 6-0 180 2nd year starter, and two new players competing for playing time are QB/Athlete Hayden Kam, and HB/NG/DT Jamyison Newton 6-1 220.
Rosepine Eagles

2024 Playoffs: None
2023 Record:3-7
Key players Graduated:Athlete/DB Zane Wellmaker(Louisiana Christian),OL Jayden Marrs(Lamar),TE/OL Aden Shell(Air Force),OL/LB Jayce Hines
Team Outlook: We will play fast and physical, and good things are coming for the program. We will be better than the 1-9 record in 2024. We are stronger as a team in the weight room, and have a lot of new talented players from both the Basketball & Baseball teams. We are blessed with a few new kids joining the team in 2025 that did not play in 2024 said Head Coach David Weldon.”
Tidbits: Head Coach David Weldon was the Offensive Coordinator for Rosepine High School in 2023 and 2024. Coach Weldon actually took over coaching the team in week 10 of 2024. Coach is a college graduate of McNeese State, has a Master's degree from Louisiana College, and is an alumnus of East Beauregard High School Class of 1996. Coach was a Defensive Coordinator for his first 21 years of coaching. Coach Weldon has coached for 23 years total between East Beauregard High School, Oberlin High School and Rosepine High School, and other schools in the area.
Tidbits: Quote from coach about LSU Baseball starter Ethan Fry, a former QB and alum of Rosepine High School in Baseball and Football. (Fr as recently drafted in the 3rd Round Houston Astros) I coached against Ethan Fry at two different schools as a Baseball coach at Oberlin High School and East Beauregard High School. I saw Ethan after a baseball game against us both times picking up trash after the game and cleaning up the locker room without any coach telling him to do that, so impressive of a young man, wow. If he’s not playing for LSU or in school, he’s always coming back home to Rosepine High School. Kid does things the right way. Also has great parents; they are a class act, his mom and dad. He is making everyone in Rosepine proud and happy said Head Coach David Weldon.”
The Offense will have many potential playmakers, some new and some with experience, for the upcoming 2025 season. The Quarterback position will have a new starter, and leading that charge is Sley Gardner, a talented player with a chance to have a great year in 2025. The run game will have a big-time returning starter in RB Barrett Coody 5-11 225 with legit 4.6 speed in the forty, and could end up All-State in 2025, he’s that good. The Offensive and Defensive Lines will return two big-time SR leaders in All District 2024 All District OL/DT Theodore Wogoman, 5-11 240, a 3-year starter, and OG/DT Patrick Gibson, 5-11 240, also a 3-year starter for the Offense.

Vinton Lions
Head Coach:Tyler Lavergne(3rd year)

2024 Playoffs:1st Round lost to Montgomery HS in Overtime on a 2-point conversion, 42-40
2023 Record:1-9

Team Outlook: Lost 11 seniors from the 2024 team. The key is who is going to step up out of the young group of players for us. We are excited about the young players we do have coming up in the program. We have a talented group of freshmen who will be sophomores, and a good Junior Class, too. Most of our players will be starting on both sides of the football again. We only have 4 seniors in 2025. We do lack linemen overall and depth there will be key for the 2025 season too said Head Coach Tyler Lavergne.”
Tidbits: The program will be up a little in total players for Football, 37 players for the fall. Vinton High School had a great year in 2025 for many Sports programs, Track District Runner-up, State Runner-up in Basketball, Quarterfinals in Baseball,2nd in District for Football, and 7 players made the State Meet at LSU for Track.
The Offense will be led by 2024 All-District Jaidon Briggs, a SR in 2025 at RB lead the team in rushing with 1,700 yards (School record for most yards in a season). Briggs will play the season at 5-10, 165 pounds with good speed and really good vision. The Offense will have a new signal caller at QB with 2 players battling through the Summer in Harrington Rideaux 5-7 145, and a new player in the program, QB Michael Lange 5-10 175, who has a good arm. Both QBs can help the team at another position if not the QB spot in the end.
More key players back to help the program will be LB/TE Kason Hillery 6-0 175 2nd year starter, TE/DE Braylon Beard 6-0 185 a 3 year starter tough player leader, RB/LB Mika Roper 5-8 165 a new starter, RB/FS Jacob Eddison 5-7 135 one of the fastest players on the team new player, CB/WR Nico Barks 6-1 155 SR 2nd year starter, WR/CB Dallin Jones 5-9 155 2nd year starter, OG/DT Uriah Patin 5-7 160 new starter, MLB/OG Kourtlin Kyle 5-9 175 2nd year starter, RB Jaydin Smith 5-8 155 will rotate in, LB/RB Traylen Carrier 5-9 160 new player, and DT/OL Zaidon Johnson 5-11 215 the biggest lineman on the team will rotate in both sides of the football.
Special Teams, the program will have a new starter for both Punter & Kicker in Brandon Hebert, 5-9, 155. Hebert is a really good Athlete in the program.
