Team Outlook: Weakness, we will be a young team in 2025. Our strength will be a very athletic team, just young said Head Coach Lynarise Elpheage.”
Tidbits: Not many programs had more success than the Cougars in 3 years. The coaching staff really does a good job getting the most out of their players. The program plays fast on both sides of the football, and they know how to score points against anyone they will play.

I am excited about our Offensive Line, all five players have experience coming back said Head Coach Devon Francois.”
Tidbits: Head Coach and Edna Karr HS Alum Devon Francois really has done an incredible job with a program that's really still fairly new back to back 2nd Round appearances in the playoffs. I also think the staff and coach do a great job of developing players and managing depth each year, with not much of a dropoff in talent every year.
The Offense has a chance to be one of the best in Class 3, A led by the RB tandem of Pierre Eskinde, 5-9 185 4.5 in the forty leader SR, and RB Bernard Adams, 5-6 185. Eskinde & Adams call themselves (The Boom & Zoom). Eskinde ran for 700 yards with 8 touchdowns in 2024, and Adams lettered in 2024 with power and speed. The Offense also returns QB Courtney, Tennessee 5-10 180 has a stronger arm in 2025,2024, passed for 17 touchdowns with close to 2,000 yards in the air. The WR unit lost several players to colleges but return another talented group lead by SR Bryant Hutchins 5-10 175 2nd year starter, WR Javial Jones new starter, WR Jermaine Harvey 6-2 165 new starter, WR Myson Effron new starter and 2 way starter All District in 2023,2nd Team All District in 2024 WR/Safety Greg Melton 5-10 180 a 3 year starter and leader. The Offensive Line returns 5 players with experience Center Tyron Grisham 6-0 260 3 year starter, OT Travis Liles 6-1 230 3 year starter vocal leader, OT Brandon Risin 6-2 260 2nd year starter, OL Calvin Watkins 6-0 235 2nd year starter, and new starter who lettered in 2024 Keon George 5-10 228.

Special Teams will be very strong with both starters back, Punter Alberth Bermudez 6-3 175 SR, and Kicker Jose Pastor 5-11 175.
L.B. Landry Chargers
Head Coach:Nick Foster(2nd year)
2024 Record:2-7
2024 Playoffs: No
2023 Record:2-8
Team Outlook: The Chargers under 2nd-year head coach Nick Foster will try and improve the record from the past 3 years, and they have a good chance of doing that with improved football numbers of athletes in the program and some players that are college prospects. I was able to get an interview with Coach Donnie Alexander, the Defensive Coordinator for Landry High School. I look forward to seeing the team play in 2025 in Class 4A football. The kids have bought in and are working hard. We are excited about the team coming back. We have 45-47 kids in the Summer program and expect 50 to 60 players on the roster in the Fall, which is a growth of players for the program the last 2 years or so, said Defensive Coordinator Donnie Alexander.”
Tidbits: There is a large amount of history with the program for producing players to college and play in championships over the years. The team that stands out to me was the 2002 State Title game against John Curtis High School, where O.P. Walker finished as the state runner-up in 2002. Back then, the name of the school was O.P. Walker High School. That team was loaded with college talent and the most talented team I ever saw at O.P.. Walker High School is in my 30 plays plus years of covering high school football. Frank Wilson currently with LSU was the head coach of the 2012 team, Double digit players signed with colleges that year,3 players signed with LSU that same year WR Junior Joseph, DE/OLB Dominic Cooper, and one of the best Safeties i have ever seen play high school football Daryl Johnson to LSU.O P. Walker also played in the 2016 State Title game for football against West Monroe High School winning the State Title 50-21 final score. I would like to thank Defensive Coordinator and former Edna Karr Linebacker Donnie Alexander for helping me with the team preview for Coach Foster.Coach Alexander is an Alum of LSU and Edna Karr High School Class(2014), a great young coach.
The Offense will return some leaders starting with QB Warren Davis, 6-2 18., I have heard from coaches around the state how talented he is as an upcoming Soph. The skill talent is there to score a lot of points for the Chargers with players like WR Rickeme Scott 5-8 150 SR back, WR Kareem Alexander 6-0 160 SR returning, WR Makayi Carter 5-10 160 big time playmaker, starting RB Derrick Henry 5-7 180, and RB/FB Jaden Eubanks 5-10 215 also returns with power and speed to get many reps in the run game. The Offensive Line is led by OT Doryan Smith 6-2 240, OC/OG/OT Kevin Mays 6-1 260, and Center Warren Houston 5-10 250.
The Defense will be led by one of the best players in Louisiana, Safety/CB/DB Christopher Griffin, 6-,3 195 had 9 interceptions in 202,4 with 6 of those taken back to the house for touchdowns, with 90 tackles. There is also a strong Linebacker group back with players like D’Marcus Villia 5-11 195 SR sleeper college prospect, LB Jean Cham 6-2 225 sleeper in 2025, MLB Kalani Griffin 6-0 200, and OLB Dyshawn Phillips 6-0 205.The Defensive Backfield will have 5 starters in the Defense 4-2-5 scheme lead by Griffin at Safety, CB/Safety Akiree Hogan 6-2 195 3 year starter leader, CB Joel Willis 5-8 155, Safety Kannon Woods 5-8 155, Safety King Willis 5-10 155, and Safety Jay Johnson 5-11 170 who will be the team’s 6th Defensive Back playing like a starter in the Secondary. The Defensive Line will be anchored by Defensive Tackle Alex Grammer, 6-0 255, and DE Ronald Martin, 6-2 225, a new starter and new to football with a lot of upside in 2025.
Special Teams, the team will have two big-time Kickoff and Punt Returners back in Rickeme Scott and Makayi Carter, both run legit 4.5 in the forty or better, and can take it to the house at any time.
Morris Jeff Pelicans

2024 Record:5-3.JV Record only. Did not compete for District in 2024
2024 Playoffs: Did not compete for District
2025 Playoffs: Started Football in 2024.
Outlook: It’s going to take time to build things up. I love the potential if we can keep our young players in the program through high school. We will see if we can compete for District after the season is over for the 2026 season, see where we are after the season as a program said Head Coach Bill Conides.”
Tidbits: Head Coach Bill Conides was head coach at Denham Springs High School in the Baton Rouge area from 2017 to 2019..Coach Conides was at Northshore High School as an assistant from 2021 to 2023. The Middle school only has a Flag Football team for football players. This means kids going into the 8th grade are learning how to play tackle football for the 1st time. Enrollment is anywhere from 350 students to 500 students. Jeff Morris will play a JV Schedule again in 2025, but also other teams that are not competing for District, like Ben Franklin, Willow, Young Audience, and others 2025. The football program finished with 34 players in 2024 and expects 47 to 50 players in 2025. Jeff Morris will run the Wing-T Offense in 2025
Coach gave me a small group of leaders who will start the season off as certain starters, led by QB/DB Wendell Etienne III, 5-9, 165, a new starting QB, a Freshman with a lot of ability to run and throw the football. Also players to watch are FB/RB/LB Jamall Amadee 5-8 190 2nd year starter, RB/LB Kendrick McFarland 6-0 207 2nd year starter, WR/DB/KR Jermonce Grayson 5-11 172, KR/WR/DB Riley Williams 5-10 150, OL/LB Colby Sears 5-10 227, Center/LB Jayden Webb 5-11 210, and TE/FB Maddux Carbuccia 6-3 219 a new starter and new to football in 2025 as a SR.
