Elijah Jackson, East Jefferson High School, Metairie, Louisiana
Versatile DB/WR Elijah Jackson of East Jefferson High School is one of the most slept-on prospects in Louisiana’s Class of 2027. Standing at 6’0’’ and weighing 161 pounds, Jackson is most comfortable playing defensive back, but he can also line up at wide receiver and return kicks whenever his team needs him to do so.
Jackson put together a strong junior season, totaling 10 tackles, 89 receiving yards, and a 50-yard touchdown. Jackson also recently scored four touchdowns in his spring game. He is also a standout athlete in track and field, where he made it to regionals for 100m hurdles.
According to Lee Brecheen, Jackson’s coach is very confident that he will focus on playing defense once he gets to college.
“After talking to Coach Rose, who played college football at Northwestern State, he will be a cornerback in college. He’s a very talented kid,” Brecheen said.
In the classroom, Jackson maintains a 3.5 GPA, and he scored an 18 on the ACT, showing a strong commitment to his academics as well. At the next level, Jackson wants to major in medicine.
Jackson spoke about his time playing for East Jefferson High School and how his coaches are building something that continues to improve everyday.
“Playing for East Jefferson, Coach Rose, and the new coaching staff is amazing. The culture is changing. We’re going to bring East Jefferson Football back this year,” Jackson said.
Jackson does not hold any offers currently, but he is going to several camps over the summer. He will be attending one at Nichols and one at Southeastern.
