Eight of the 12 players will be seniors in 2025. Coach Eddie hopes to add some younger players in the Fall so they can have some depth to get through a season. Hopefully, the school will get more Boys to enroll in the school so they can add to the roster in 2025

Key players Graduated: Athlete Lantavious Murphy(Northwest, Mississippi JC), OT Kenneth Boston(Ole Miss), MLB/TE/DE Will Waggoner, RB/CB Zydarion Colquitt, WR/DB/DE Makaih White.

Team Outlook: Our goal is to play for a State Title every year. We had all our games we had to forfeit in 2024 but we played in the Panama City, Florida independent playoffs which we got 2 games in for Div 2  8 man football, so we finished 2-10 on the season. 13 kids got saved while we where in Florida and that made it all worth it in itself for this program and those kids. It’s called the NFASA National Home-Schooled teams, which were 8-man and 11-man teams from all over the country. We have a brutal schedule in 2025 playing teams like Briarfield HS (1 A State Champion in 2024, Riverfield, Evangel HS of Alabama, 7 7-time State Champion program, and Strong Arkansas State Champion in 2024, said Head Coach Bo Barton.”

The Offense will have a new QB in 2025. There will be a battle for the spot all Summer among Kaden Ramer, SR, 6-0 170 3 3-year starter who has started at several spots with 4.59 speed, and then there’s Byron Price,5-8 150, the fastest player on the team with 4.45 speed or better. Both of these QB/Athletes will start for the team regardless of who wins the QB job in the end. There’s also a third QB who got reps in 2024 at QB, Andre Robinson, a really good Athlete who also can play multiple positions for the team if not QB. More key players back in the program are Athlete Reggie Jackson a returning starter 6-2 180 going into his 3rd year to start multiple positions(34 catches with 12 touchdowns in 2024 as a WR), DE/LB Cayden Vanderburg a 3 year starter 2 Sacks in the playoffs 6-2 210 pounds, OL/DL Kenton Mercer 5-8 195 leader, OT/DE Jackson Micka 6-1 185, DB Jace Benton 5-9 155 leader, RB/DT John David Greene 5-8 190 ran for 650 yards as a RB in 2024, and returning starter leader OG Karsten Clinton 6-1 295 SR with good feet and strong.

2024 Playoffs: 1st Round lost to Briarfield Academy HS

2023 Record:0-12

Key players graduated: None

Team Outlook: My favorite quote from former Hall of Fame football coach Lou Holtz. “Nothing is good as it seems, Nothing is bad as it seems, but somewhere in the middle reality falls.” I am excited to be the head coach, and I already love this town, and the community is awesome to be around. We do have a young team, but again, excited to be able to coach these kids who love the game said Head Coach Stacy Sizemore.”

Tidbits: Head Coach Stacy Sizemore grew up in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and graduated High School from Vicksburg High School(Class 1988). In 2024, Coach Sizemore was a coach with John Carroll High School in Fort Pierce, Florida. Coach spent 30 years coaching in the state of Florida and was the head coach at one of the most talented programs in Florida, American Heritage High School, from 2012 to 2014. Devin Singletary, RB currently with the New York Giants, was coached by Coach Sizemore. Coach Sizemore played college football for 2 years at Hinds, Mississippi JC, and 2 years at Southern Mississippi under then-head coach Jeff Bower as a Linebacker. When QB Bret Favre was a SR, the coach was a So at Southern Mississippi as teammates. The last time Tensas Academy High School football won a State Championship was in 2011. Coach expects to have about 20 players in the program come Fall.

Here are some top players to keep an eye for this football season QB Christian Hosea 5-11 170 started in 2024, QB Cade Hankins 5-11 160 also a WR/DB, RB/LB Toby Matthews 5-10 178 2nd year starter, OL/DL Holden Cavin 5-11 235 2nd year starter, OL/DL Vance Herring 6-0 230 2nd year starter, WR/DB Colton Aldry 5-11 175 2nd year starter, DT/OL Brady Hendricks 5-10 220 new starter, OLB Drake Wallace 5-10 170 2nd year starter, LB Witt Carpenter 5-9 155 2nd year starter, and DB Carter Alrdy 5-11 165 new starter.

2024 Record: 8-3

2024 Playoffs: Semifinals lost to Briarfield Academy HS

2023 Record: 3-9

Key players Graduated: TE/DE Reagan Feazell, OT/LB Sutton Loe

Team Outlook: Goal: get over the hump against the best teams in the playoffs. In 2025, we will be more experienced, more mature, and with more leadership. My expectations are also to play better as a team. This team has a chance to be the best team I’ve ever coached in my 7 years as a coach in the MAIS 8-man football league,” said Head Coach Jason Williams.

Tidbits: Head Coach Jason Williams took Columbus Christian Academy High School in Mississippi to the semifinals as a Head Football coach, and also took Tensas Academy High School to the semifinals as a Head Coach. So three different teams he has coached with great success. Claiborne Academy High School will only have 4 seniors in the 2025 football season, and in 2024 only had 2 seniors.

A total of 4 players coach told me return that made All State in Class 2A in 2024, RB/WR Dylan Buckner 5-10 170 3 year starter with almost 1, 000 yard rushing in 2024, QB Kyler Monk 5-11 180 3 year starter rushed for 1, 000 yards in 2024, Athlete Lane Sexton 5-10 165, and MLB/TE Maddox Gaston 6-0 165.

More players to keep an eye on are DE Bryce Harden 6-0 190, WR/DB Cade Smith 5-6 160 2nd year starter, OL/DE Gus Strange 6-0 170 2nd year starter, OL/DL Ryder Gaston 5-6 200 2nd year starter, WR/DE Kase Holloway 6-1 200 2nd year starter, OL/DL Canon Graves 5-10 215 2nd year starter, DB/WR Nate Smith 5-11 170 great Athlete, OL/DL Sawyer Harris 5-9 170 new starter, and RB/DB John Henry Haynes 5-8 150 pounds.

Special Teams starting Kicker will be Cade Smith. The starting Punter coach told me they might not end up with one and might have to go for it most of the time in 2025.

Silliman Wildcats

Head Coach: Chet DeLee (3rd year)

2024 Record: 8-4

2024 Playoffs: Quarterfinals lost to Parklane Academy in Mississippi

2023 Playoffs: 7-4. 1st Round lost to Leake Academy HS

Key players Graduated: OT Mason Dorsey, WR/LB John Barley Dawson, OG Lee Jude Reed, FB/LB Evan Wiley, P/K Ryan Burns.

Team Outlook: Going from a spread Offense finesse team to a physical downhill running attack. We will utilize one of the best players in the District, RB Issac Garba, and utilize our Offensive Line in 2025. Seems to have more of a selfless team in 2025 that wants to play for one another,” said Head Coach Chet DeLee.

Tidbits: I talked to Coach DeLee, and he told me there are 580 students in the school currently at Silliman High School, and they will play some schools in the district with over 1,600 students. Coach told me they will change the Offense in 2025, going to more of a Triple Option/Veer look from a Spread Offense in 2024. Starting WR Elliot Goux is a leading candidate to be the school's Valedictorian for the school for the Class of 2026.

The Offense will have a new starting Quarterback led by Elliot Fuge, 6-1 175, a WR/FS as a starter in 2024, All District as a Defensive Back with 9 interceptions in 2024, led the District, and now converted to QB. This will be Fuge's 3rd year in the program as a starter, 1st year as the QB. The Offense returns one of the best two-way starters in all of the MAIS League school RB/FB/DE Issac Garba 5-11 245, a battering ram with feet, and on Defense in 2024 had 103 tackles and was named District MVP on Defense. For the 2nd year in a row the Wildcats return a really good Offensive Line led by 4 year starter OT Cooper Taylor 6-6 265 SR, OL Kaine Cornette 5-11 250 a 3 year starter, OT/DT Deacon White 6-2 240 a 2nd year starter, OL/DL Tynes Guidry 6-0 230 and new starting Center Will Rettie 5-10 195 pounds. The run game will revolve around Garba, but there will be other players who get carries like RB Cade Henderson 5-5 150, RB Cooper Reech 5-6 155, RB/Safety Reid Jones 6-0 175, and FB/LB Caleb Crawford 5-6 175. The WR position you have WR Christian Gaudin 6-3 180, new starter, and WR Elliot Goux 5-3 135, don't let his size fool you, he had 7 touchdowns for the team in 2024.

The Defense will return some of the Offensive players mentioned above as 2 way starters and look out for these players FS Kristopher Rogillio 6-2 170 2nd year starter, LB Cole Atkinson 6-0 195 a 2nd year starter, DT/OL Edwin Smith 6-0 225 2nd year starter, TE/LB/DE Peyton Varnado 6-0 220, and LB Issac Jenkins 6-2 185 a new starter. QB Elliot Fuge will also still play some Defensive Back for the team in 2025. Star RB Issac Garba 5-11 245 returns as a starting Defensive End after leading the team with 103 tackles in 2024. Linebacker Caleb Crawford had 101 tackles in 2024 and started both LB & FB for the team.

Special Teams Kicker and Punter will be Ethan Pace, 5-8, 140, a new starter.

Franklin Academy Cougars

Head Coach: Jonathan Sharp (1st year)

2024 Record: 1-10

2024 Playoffs: 1st Round lost to Calhoun Academy HS in Mississippi

2023 Record:6-6.Playoffs lost to Sharkey Issaquena Academy, Mississippi

Key players Graduated: OT/DT Noah Ratcliff, DE/LB Jonathan Ferrington, OG/DE Tucker Grayson

Team Outlook: Last year was a tough season for us. We lost half of our team that transferred out to other schools. We had to play a few young kids in new positions because we didn't have any experienced players returning in 2024. The program had only 17 players on its roster in 2024. I feel better about this year with 22 to 24 players out for Fall. The key to every season in the MAIS league is all about speed to win games said Head Coach Jonathan Sharp.”

Tidbits: Head Coach Jonathan Sharp was the Offensive Line and Defensive Line coach for Franklin Academy High School from 2022 to 2024. Coach Sharp is an Alum of Franklin Academy(Class of 1999). Coach Sharp played Baseball at Louisiana College, now Louisiana Christian in Pineville, LA, and has a master's degree from LSU. Franklin Academy High School has some really good Athletic teams. They finished 3rd in the District in Baseball playoffs in 2025, and Softball was State Champs in 2024. Softball also won back-to-back titles from 2021 to 2022. The football team only has 2 seniors in 2025.

The Program will build around 8 key players in 2025 WR/CB/QB Rudy Liles 5-8 153 a 2nd year starter QB and 4 year starter in the program All District in 2023 and 2024, LB/RB Isaac Sharp 6-0 181 a 4 year starter All District in 2023 and 2024, WR/CB/QB Jesse Killingsworth 5-7 135 a 2nd year starter, WR/CB Baylor Lee Anderson 5-8 138 2nd year starter, WR/Safety Jackson Ferrington 5-9 152 a 2nd year starter, OL/DL John Randall Faulk 5-10 165 new starter, Center Hayden Dotson 5-8 152 2nd year starter, and TE/LB/CB/WR Hunter Arnold 5-10 148 a new starter coming off an injury in 2024 but now 100 percent and ready to go in 2025.

Bowling Green Buccaneers

Head Coach: Dean King (1st year)

2024 Record: 8-5

2024 Playoffs: State Championship Game(Runner Up Tri County Mississippi)

2023: 9-4. State Championship Game (Runner Up to Tri-County, Mississippi)

Key players Graduated: QB/LB Maddox McGee, FB Bubby Bryant, LB/FB JP Brumfield, TE/WR Zeke Burford, OT/DT Brice Graham, OC Leroy Brooks

Team Outlook: We lost a big senior class of 15 players. We will have 5 seniors on the football team in 2025. I am proud of the willingness to compete and work hard with these kids in this program. We will be a young rebuilding team, but I am excited to see us grow in 2025. We have a motto here (Fight for 4 Quarters) said Head Coach Dean King.”

Tidbits: New Head Coach Dean King is no stranger to the Buccaneers program, being the Defensive Coordinator the last 3 years for Bowling Green HS, and 2025 will be his 5th year overall on the staff. I was able to go to the school in Spring and talk to the team and interview the coach, and the players had a great time visiting the town of Franklinton, also. This team is a close group with a really good young coaching staff that works hard. The future is bright for this program, and 2025 should be another great year.

The new QB/Safety will be Kerston Diddon, 6-3, 175, a young leader with a live arm and good feet in the pocket to build around in this program. Here are a few players the program will need big seasons from in 2025 RB/DE Jesse Gaines 6-3 220 the bell cow of the Offense in 2025, RB/LB Nathon Pylant 5-7 190 another power back in the Offense key player, OT/DT Masyn Lumpkin 5-11 220 2nd year starter, FS/TE/WR Ryn Rivenbark 6-0 173 good hands, WR/CB Keelon Jackson new starter 6-0 160, OL/LB/DE/OC Brasyn O’Bryant 5-11 190, OG/OT/DT Paxton Brumfield 5-10 260, OG/LB Landon Boyd 5-10 190, WR/Safety/OLB/RB Rhett Schilling 5-8 150 SR, new starter WR/DB Trent Penton 5-10 145 SR, WR/Safety new starter Kolt Killingsworth 5-11 150, WR/LB Cole Cooper 6-2 165, new starter OT/DT Cashton Kinlaw 6-3 235, and OL/DL/LB Beau Brown 5-10 200. The program has a few younger players coming up, competing both in the trenches and skill spots to give the program depth with some jobs to win over Spring/Summer.

Special Teams will be led by one of the top Kickers in the District, Micah Alex Brock returns 5-6 150 as a senior. Brock will be counted on to win a lot of close games in 2025. The Punter will be Ryn Rivenbark, a starter at both TE/FS for the team.

Ben Ford Eagles

Head Coach: Destin Pittman(6th year)

2024 Record: 9-2

2024 Playoffs: 2nd Round lost to Newton County, Mississippi, in Decatur, Mississippi

2023 Record: 8-4. 2nd Round lost to DeSoto, Arkansas

Key players Graduated: TE/FB Trevor Bennett, QB/Kicker/LB Ein Knight, 4-year starter, RB/DE Sammy Seal

Team Outlook: Good Spring. We went injury-free during Spring, which is also good. We got a lot of work in with many new players who will be starting in 2025. The schedule will be tougher in 2025. We made the schedule tougher on purpose because we wanted to play more quality opponents to get better as a team. We lost just 4 seniors to graduation, but all of them were 2 way starters. We will not be able to compete for a State Title in 2025 because our enrollment is not high enough, but we are invited to play in the MAIS 8-man Championships held in Florida after the season is over. You have to have at least 51 players to compete in the MAIS playoffs, and we only have 17 to 20 players come Fall practice said Head Coach Destin Pittman.”

The Eagles return one of the best players in the District, RB/CB, and now a new starting QB, possibly Dash Houston, a 4-year player. Start: This kid, Houston, is one special player in 2023. He had 29 touchdowns with over 2,000 yards Offense, and in 2024 had 1,500 yards rushing with 25 touchdowns, and as a WR 650 yards with 8 touchdowns. Coach Pittman thinks that by the time his SR season is will go over 6000 total yards and over 100 touchdowns in his career. Even though the team will have a lot of new starters, they return most of the Offensive linemen from last year to build on. The OL will be led by OG/DT Mason Sanders 5-11 270, OL/DL Brody Applewhite 6-5 280, OG/DT Russell Romano 6-1 215, 2nd year starter, TE/FB Chris Kuhn 6-0 205, and Center/DT Kaden Dantin 5-11 230. There will be a QB battle throughout the Summer between Houston and young Brayson Boyet. The coaches are hoping at some point, Boyet can win the job so Dash Houston can play at his more natural positions as a playmaker RB/CB. Brayson can also play RB if he is not the Quarterback early on.

The Defense will return 2 special experienced leaders in Steven Thibodeaux, 6-0 165, a 2nd year starter WR/DB, and 4-year starter DE/LB Ezra Nobles, 6-2 185 SR. Nobles had 120 tackles in 2024 and in 2023 85 tackles. Steven Thibodeaux led the team with 7 interceptions, and he is the team’s top WR coming back.

More top players to keep an eye on are TE/RB Kaiden Keating 5-10 170, LB Wyatt Nobles 6-0 170, WR/DB Cole Thibodeaux 5-10 140, TE/LB Cullen Lott, DE/OLB Jonah Mitchell 6-2 205, and Defensive Tackle Brayden Pittman, a 2nd-year starter.

Special Teams will be strong with Cullen Lott as the Kicker, and the Long Snapper will be Brayson Boyet.

Prairie View Academy Spartans

Head Coach: Jared Smelser (3rd year)

2024 Record: 10-2

2024 Playoffs: 2nd Round lost to Tunica HS(Mississippi)

2023 Record: 6-5. 1st Round lost to Deer Creek(Mississippi).

Key players who graduated: DL/OL John David Pipes, LB/WR Mason Tullos.

Team Outlook: Kids are ready to play, and most of our team is back in 2025. We did lose our Center & some key Wide Receivers to replace, but we are ready to make the next step and go further in the playoffs. These kids hate to lose and love that about them said Head Coach Jared Smelser.”

The Spartans return starting QB Hayden Little, who had a great 2024 season running for 1500 yards and passing for 1200 yards. Little has a 4.55 speed in the forty and will be a key reason this program can have another great year on Offense in 2025. Little will also play some CB for the Defense. There’s also a few 2 way starters back to build around in HB/WR/OG Jackson Gee 6-0 205 SR, RB/LB Cole Murphy 5-8 178 SR ran for 800 plus yards in only 7 games in 2024, TE/OG Abram Anthony 6-2 270 really good hands and will be a major factor on Offense for 2 spots, OL/DL Brayden Decorte 5-8 220 Sr leader, OL/DT Fisher Daniels SR 5-9 260 leader, LB Dylan Hall 5-9 189 113 tackles in 2024 leader tough kid, WR/RB/DB Landyn Deville 5-7 165 leader had 500 yards receiving in 2024, WR/DB Nathan Stokes 6-0 140 2nd year starter really good Athlete, WR/DB Evan Morris 6-1 160 has good hands new starter, and OC/OL/DT Wiley Taylor 5-9 210 a new starter in the trenches.

Special Teams, the Spartans return the best Kickers in the District in Noah Lopez, 5-9 165, a SR, who also will get reps at WR for the team on Offense.

Oak Forest Yellowjackets

Head Coach: Drew Misita (8th year)

2024 Record: 7-5

2024 Playoffs: Quarterfinals lost to Copiah Academy, Mississippi.

2023 Record: 6-6 Playoffs lost to Simpson Academy HS

Key players Graduated: RB/LB Tanner Spears(Southeastern), DB/WR Cameron Finch, QB Kaul Perkins, WR/DB Logan Freche, QB Cole Covington, OL/P/K Will Fortenberry, OL Luke Johnson.

Team Outlook: “We were young in the trenches in 2024. We started 6 players, 14-15-year-old kids, in the trenches in 2024. We are now stronger and more experienced now moving forward, which will pay off for the program. We learned a lot and did lose some key skill starters from last year’s team. We will have to build around a new QB in 2025,” said Head Coach Drew Misita.

Tidbits: The program is on solid ground. I had a chance to go by and see the school and facilities, and I was really impressed with the coaches, players, and system they have going. It's a big-time school, and they will continue to produce great athletes from what I’ve seen for many years to come. This program can win many games if it plays in the LHSSA. The Yellowjackets have close to 900 kids in the school. When you're at the school, it has a feel of a High School that would rival many Class 3A programs in the State for the LHSAA Districts facilities, coaches, and talent.

The offense will have a few players back and will start the season off with a new starting QB, Braxton Wascom, 5-10, 170, starting JV QB in 2024, who did a great job and knows the system well. The run game returns an elite player in Kade Perkins, 5-9 185, who has 4.5 speed in the forty, and is a really strong, tough kid to bring down or catch in the open field. In 2024, Perkins had 22 catches for 416 yards with 5 touchdowns to show he is more than capable as a WR too in the Offense. More top players back on Offense are Center Tyler Mulkey 5-11 220 SR 2nd year starter, RB/HB/LB Elisha Sargusa new starter 5-10 185, OG Brady Berner 5-10 225, RB/CB Justin Bennett Jr 5-10 155, and big time All District TE/DE Jack Benoit 6-2 230 a 2 way starter. Another 2-way starter returns in WR/Safety Brennan Wilkinson 5-11 165, and he’s also the team’s backup QB. The Offensive Line also has new starter OT Nolan Teston 6-4 240 SR, WR/CB Kahne Andrews 6-2 175, and OC/DT Nathan G. Venable 5-10 235, new players to help with depth on offense.

The Defense will return one of the best Linebackers in the District, SR Brandt Liuzza, 6-2, 215, a 4-year starter with a ton of ability and a big-time leader for the program. Also back is DT Brody Thomas 5-10 215, DE Jack Benoit 6-2 230, DT/NG Brantley Patti 5-11 255 2nd year starter, DB Mason Simpson 6-0 170 SR 2nd year starter, LB Dylan Rayne Husband 5-11 195 2nd year starter, LB Cy Mixon 6-0 185 new starter, and LB Duely Deaton 6-0 180.

Special Teams Punter will be Kade Perkins, and the Kicking job should be won over the Spring/Summer.

Northeast Baptist Knights

Head Coach: Mike Gill (4th year)

2024 Record: 0-8

2024 Playoffs: No

2023 Record: 0-3

Key players graduated: None

Team Outlook: I’m excited that the roster has expanded from 9 players to 12 players for the 2025 season. We only had 9 players for a full season in 2024. We had to forfeit the last 4 games because we did not have enough players to finish the season. We will have only 2 seniors in 2025 in the program, said Head Coach Mike Gill.”

The Knights don't play for the District. They are an Independent program for 8-man football.

Key players back to build around are QB/RB/LB/DE Caleb Calhoun 6-0 206 SR, RB/LB/DE Logan Spears 6-2 185 SR, RB/LB Braxton Welch 6-0 175 with 4. 65 speed in the forty, RB/Safety/CB Paul Williams 5-4 135 pounds 4. 6 speed, OG/DT/DE Corbin Walsworth 5-8 190 2nd year starter, OC/DE/DT/LB/OG Luke Rogriguez 5-8 165 will start as a 8th grader, and CB/OG/WR Hunter Davidson 6-0 145 2nd year starter in 2025.
