Team Outlook: This team has a lot of potential to follow up with our District Title in 2024, and this group could be the one with a strong Senior group with an experienced QB to make that next step as a program in 2025 said Head Coach Jacob Carruth.”
Tidbits: Pointe Coupee Catholic High School has one of the best Powerlifting programs in Louisiana, with 5 State Championships, Boys, and 4 State Titles, Girls. The Football program played for a State Title in 2019, finishing runner-up to Ouachita Christian High School in the Monroe area.
The Offense will return one of the best players in all of Louisiana, in my opinion, of watching this kid play for the last 3 years, QB Jude Morrison. Morrison will be a 4-year starter, and what's amazing, he has been All District in 4 different sports: Football, Baseball, Track, and Golf. In 2024, Morrison's stats were 967 passing yards with 15 touchdowns and only 5 interceptions, and ran for 516 yards with 7 touchdowns, and on Defense, in limited action, had 2 interceptions with 21 tackles. The run game will return starter Myka Nipple, a 3-year starter who ran for 608 yards with 8 touchdowns in 2024, and in 2023 ran for 600 yards. Myka is 5-11 190, really strong with great speed and toughness. Also back on Offense WR/RB Cohen Higginbotham a veteran player 5-10 170 SR, WR Edwin Williams a big time playmaker, RB/OLB Cooper Walker 5-7 150 lettered in 2024, WR/CB Kooper Burke 5-8 140 a great 2 way player with 4.5 speed in the forty, along with TE/WR Hayes Langlois 5-10 155 lettered in 2024 and will play some Defense OLB.Most of the lineman in the program will be 2 way trench starters in OC Colby Canezaro 6-2 255 SR sleeper, OG/LB Zane Sonnier 5-10 195, OT/DT Jacob Caballero 5-10 215 2nd year starter, OG/DE Grahm Roy, 5-8 190, and some younger players competing to give the team some depth.
The Defense will have a bunch of 2 way starters back. There’s also LB Carston Crabtree 5-11 180, new starter, DE Owen Lacour 5-10 195, 2nd year starter, LB Carter Devillier 5-10 185, a 2nd year starter, CB Justin Woods 5-6 145, 2nd year starter, tough kid, and 2-way starter CB Kooper Burke had 8 pass breakups in 2024 with 4 interceptions.QB Jude Morrison, when he does get reps at Safety, he’s one of the best in Louisiana.
Special Teams Punter/Kicker Jude Morrison returns after making All District at Punter in 2024. The return game will be a strength with Kooper Burke back with a 26-yard average in 2024 on Kick Returns, and also back will be Long Snapper starter Colby Canezaro, who does a great job, along with being the team's starting Center on Offense.

Lost some pieces on Defense, but a lot of players lettered on JV Defense and special teams varsity, and we feel the young players will be ready there. Tidbits: The Baseball Program in 2024won its first State Title, and that same year, the Softball team in 2024 won a State Title. I was able to visit with Coach Matherne and the football team right after the 2024 football season. The team has the talent and focus to make a run for a title in 2025 if they can stay healthy overall.

The new QB Johnathan Krass Gillen, 6-2, 200 pounds a SR and has a ton of ability to lead this program deep in the playoffs in 2025. Special teams will be in good hands with Aiden LaFleur back to handle both the Punting and Kicking duties for the team.

Tidbits: The Trojans will host rival St. Edmund High School at home in 2025. The program will have close to 50 football players in the fall. Football has one State Title in 1967.

Team Outlook: We have a chance to be as good as in 2024. We have 12 seniors coming back again in 2025. We lost some close games in 2024. We have the chance to be really good; we have a fast team again. I also think we will be better in the passing game with having an experienced QB returning in Nathan Zaunbrecher, who has grown into the QB role said Head Coach James Shiver.”
Tidbits: The football program has some depth, but will play some of its best players on both sides of the ball in 2025. I had a chance to visit the campus and meet with Coach Shiver and the team right before the Spring of this year. I am really impressed by how close these kids are and fully committed to playing as a team every year with really good coaching. I like the football team's chances to make a run in 2025. They have the skill, size, and QB to be a big-time factor against anyone in Class 1A in 2025, in my opinion.
The Offense will have a chance, like the coach said, to be better with QB Nathan Zaunbrecher back at 6-5, 185 pounds with a stronger arm, and some experience now going into his SR year in 2025. The rest of the skill talent around him will be some talented kids with speed and talent in TE/DE/OL Max Smith 6-3 215 a 4.6 in the forty Athlete both sides of the ball a returning starter, CB/WR Hudson Simon a returning starter will be the go to guy in 2025 at 5-8 155 pounds with 4.59 speed in the forty.RB/LB Nathan Driggs 5-9 180 is back after rushing for over 500 yards with 6 touchdowns in 2024. The Offense also has WR Briar Heinen 6-2 170, WR Jack Aucoin 6-0 170, RB Cooper Berzas 5-9 150 plays like he’s 200 pounds, and look for some younger players to compete over the Summer for reps at WR/RB. The Offensive Line you will have SR Charles Sonnier 6-0 285 a leader also DT starter, OG/DE Clay Aguillard 5-11 200 SR All District in 2024, OC/DE Davis Manuel 6-0 200 3rd year starter, new starter Center Landon Marchantel 6-1 210, OT Benjamin Guillory 6-3 270, and OG/LB Ben Miller 5-11 195 a strong kid also plays bigger.

Team Outlook: We lost some really good players from last year's team. Tidbits: I am very impressed with the program at Westminster HS. I was able to visit with the players and the coaching staff after the 2024 season and was impressed with the hard work and potential of this upcoming team.
