Tidbits: Head Coach Lawrence Seawood is a former Northwestern State Football player. Coach Seawood was on the staff at Lakeview High School as a Defensive Coordinator for 12 years before becoming the head coach in 2024 at Lakeview High School.

LaSalle Tigers

Head Coach:Hunter Johnson(2nd year)

2024 Record:4-6

2024 Playoffs: No

2023 Record:4-6

Key players Graduated: DE/TE/FB Cutler Ganey, OC/DT Peyton Peppers, OL/DL Cannan Stowe,2024 Hon Mention All State DE/OT Matthew Thompson, TE/DE Stephen Fowler.

Team Outlook: Excited about the upcoming 2025 season. We learned a lot in 2024 in the growing process, and we will build on that. We have a big group of 8th graders coming up to help the program. We do have to replace 4 out of 5 starting linemen in our program. The roster should be close to 45 players in the fall said Head Coach Hunter Johnson.”

Tidbits: The program will have most of its players starting on both sides of the football in 2025, especially the linemen. You will also see a few freshmen having to start, so the team can build depth in 2025.

The Offense returns one of their best players on the team in 2-way starter QB/DB Tuff Street. In just 9 games in 2024, Street had 1,300 total yards of Offense, was All District 2nd team on Defense, and 2nd team All District on Offense as an RB. Tuff Street also finished with over 120 points scored for the program in 2024. The program also returns skill players with experience Jesse Stowe RB/DB/WR 5-7 150 SR 2nd year starter, WR/CB Caiden Finley 5-7 150 SR with a huge heart for the game, CB/WR Jace Corley 6-2 160 2nd year starter, RB/LB Wyatt King 6-1 235  2nd Team All District LB In 2024 in just 7 games in 2024 had 40 tackles. There’s  Mason Lee back will play QB, RB/DB and has for the program a really good Athlete with good speed and a good arm. A new player who will help at the skill positions for the team in 2025 will be Brayden Tanneyhill, 5-7, 150 RB/WR/DB will help a lot on both sides of the football. And finally, there’s Aidan Billingsley, 5-8, 175, Safety & RB for the team, along with DB Alex Richmond 2nd-year starter, much improved from the 2024 season.

Key lineman back to start both sides of the football for the program are DT/FB Cash Barton 5-10 170 SR plays like he’s 210, OL/DL Tanner Dulaney 5-9 260 2nd year starter, OL/DL new starter Landon Callendar 6-1 330, and OL/DL Caleb Fowler 6-0 280 SR might be the most improved player in the program since his Freshman year.

Special Teams Kicker & Punter is an open position for competing to win both spots for players in Spring/Summer.

Logansport

Head Coach:Kevin Magee(12th year)

2024 Record:10-3

2024 Playoffs:  Semifinals lost to South Plaquemines HS

2023 Record:11-2. Semis-Finals lost to Haynesville HS

Key players Graduated:2024 Hon Mention All State RB/WR/CB Joseph Powell(Texas College), RB/DE Tonashton Bland(Texas College),2024 Hon Mention All State, RB/CB Jukadynn Carter(Texas College), WR/FS Jordan Meshell,2024 Hon Mention All State FB/LB/DT Lee Arthur Wilson, OT/DT Treville Townsley(Louisiana Christian),2024 2nd Team All State OL/DL Aydin Davis

Team Outlook: Started with 24 players last Spring and added some players last fall small on numbers. We will take quality over quantity any day. We have some great, hard-working kids who I don't have to worry about showing up for work. We grew this Spring, and I was pleased  with how some of the players grew in the Spring game against Mansfield High School said Head Coach Kevin Magee.”

Tidbits: Not many programs in Class 1A have had the success the last 10 years like Logansport High School under current Head Coach Kevin Magee, former Northwestern State QB, and former QB Alum of Logansport High School. You can pretty much count on another great year coming up for the football program. Coach Magee played a lot of young players in 2024, and I think in 202,5 they have a chance to get back to the Dome, and the last 2 years they were 1 win away from getting there. The team had only 7 senior starters in the starting lineup in 2024, and 6 players out of 7 signed college scholarships, which is a pretty good ratio. My favorite all-time players to watch from Logansport High School in my lifetime are RB Robert Davis(LSU), QB Kevin Magee(Northwestern State), Athlete Key’Savalyn Barnes(ULL Lafayette), and Athlete John Stephens Jr(ULL Lafayette/NFL), and RB Cisco Perkins(LSU).

The Offense made a position change this Spring with 2024 starting QB Keaton Cason moving to OLB/WR to be able to be more of a playmaker from QB. Cason will look to be a big-time skill player and on Defense a starter at 5-11 185, a SR in 2025. New starting QB Kollin Magee, 5-9, 145 pounds, took a step forward with a great Spring game in 2025 and looks to have a breakout year following in his dad’s footsteps as a QB for Logansport High School. There will be a talented group of skill players like the last 10 to 12 years starting both sides of the football and they are WR/LB/RB Dillan McClelland 6-0 170 2nd year starter, RB/WR/DB Kaiton Packett 5-9 155 had 35 catches for 450 yards with 10 touchdowns in 2024 returning( 72 yard catch in the Spring game), WR/RB/FS Sirdarius Dotson Jr 5-6 140 returns with great hands and tough kid for his size,2024 All State LB/Athlete Hunter Martin is back for his 4th year as a starter and back to back years as the District MVP on Defense at LB with over 200 tackles in the last 2 years combined, RB/DB Zakyron Brown new starter at RB 5-8 175, and a few younger players battling to get on the field in 2025.

The Trenches will be a group of Ironman again most will see time both sides of the line with experience back lead by OC/DL Cane McCoy 6-1 245 SR leader 3rd year starter, OT/DT Aiden Wallace 5-11 290 3 year starter, OL/DL Pacer Williams 6-2 280 a 2 year starter leader, DE/OLB Jaydon Perkins 6-2 200, TE/LB Jaylon Perkins 6-2 200 2nd year starter and DE/HB Jayden Bledsoe 6-1 180 1st year starter.

Special Teams team returns a talented young Kicker in Alex Espnovz, 5-6, 140 has a really strong leg and did well in 2024 as the starter.

Montgomery Tigers

Head Coach:Taylor Williams(2nd year)

2024 Record:6-4

2024 Playoffs:1st Round beat Vinton HS & 2nd Round lost to Haynesville HS

2023 Record:5-5

Key players Graduated:2024 Hon Mention All State CB/RB Jacorian Shephard, LB/TE/DE Willie Christian, CB/WR Layton Martin,2024 Hon Mention All State SS/WR Ayden George, DE Cagen Desoto, FS/CB Justin Thornton, OL/DL Dane Collins, OL/DL Kade Brumley, DT/LB Tairique Thompson

Team Outlook: Finding our new identity for the year 2025. We graduated 12 seniors, and we haven’t, as a program, graduated that many in the last 5 years combined, so that’s a lot for us to lose at one time. We only have 1 starting Offensive Lineman back from last year. We will mostly run a spread Offense in 2025 said Head Coach Taylor Williams.”

Tidbits: Head Coach Taylor Williams only has 6 coaches in the program total, including Coach Williams.Coach Williams was hired as the Offensive Coordinator in 2021 at Montgomery High School before becoming the head coach. Coach took over the program from his dad in 2024. Brian Williams, who was the head coach of Montgomery High School for 20 years and did a great job. The program, though young, has a large Class of 2028 players who will play in 2025 and get tons of experience.

The program will be very young, but does return a 4-year starting Quarterback in 2024 Hon Mention All State/All District Mason Jordan 5-9 185, who can run it like an RB with 4.6 speed, and has a good arm. Jordan had close to 400 yards rushing in 2024 with 7 rushing touchdowns. The only starter back on the Offensive Line to build around will be Jett Bullock, OT/DT 6-2 240, a big-time Athlete in the trenches for the program and a 3-year starter.

Here are some more key players to follow this year for Tigers WR/DB Hayden Ganey 6-4 170 2nd year starter will be the top WR in the program for the 2025 season, LB/RB Jeremiah Christian 5-9 180 a 2nd year starter looking to have a break out season, OC/DT Ashton Washington 6-1 265 a pretty good football player new starter on the Offensive Line and the Defensive Line, WR Kayden Goodling 5-7 145 new starter, OL/DL Jace Ferrier 5-10 165 new starter, HB/WR/TE Kenney Reeves 5-10 200 new starter good blocker, WR/DB Eli Bullock 5-6 130 a new starter and competing to start on the Offensive Line Logan Roberts 6-0 235 pounds.

Special Teams for all three spots, Kicker, Punter, and Long Snapper, will be decided over the Summer and early Fall practice.

Northwood-Lena Gators

Head Coach:Tommy Moore(5th year)

2024 Record:3-7

2024 Playoffs: No

2023 Record:1-9

Key players graduated: None

Team Outlook: The Gators will have small numbers in total players, but as always, they are tough kids with big hearts to compete.

Tidbits: Head Coach Tommy Moore was the head coach at Leesville High School from 2013 to 2015. Coach Moore was the Offensive Coordinator at Buckeye High School from 2018 to 2020. Coach Moore was also the head coach at Natchitoches Central High School in 2017. In 2023, both the Girls and Boys Basketball teams at Northwood-Lena won State Titles in Basketball. The Girls' Basketball team also won the State Title in 2022. The Student population is a little over 600 students from PK to 12th grade.

The Gators to return some really good skill two way player’s and lineman talent in QB AJ Butler All District in 2024 6-1 205 pounds with 4.65 speed in the forty sleeper in the state, WR Jahari McCoy 6-0 170 3 year starter leader, WR/DB Kadorian Brown 6-0 165 tough starter 2nd year, RB/LB Tyler Bowman 6-0 200 returning starter leader, and OL/DT James Wise 6-3 215 talented leader and returning starter.

St. Mary’s Tigers

Head Coach:Kedrin Seastrunk(2nd year)

2024 Record:5-6

2024 Playoffs:1st Round lost to Kentwood HS

2023 Record:6-6.Lost to Kentwood HS in 3rd Round Playoffs.

Key players Graduated: OL/DE/LSP Peyton Mitchell, RB/WR/OLB Chance Rushing, QB/FS/WR Braylon Normand, WR/CB Camden Litton.

Team Outlook: Excited going into year 2. Built relationships with players who know the system and lingo now.  Really helps that there are no changes to the Offense or Defense schemes for kids to get better moving forward. I feel like the players trust the coaches. Now 2025 has a chance to be a really good year for us as a program said Head Coach Kedrin Seastrunk.

Tidbits: Head Coach Kedrin Seastrunk, back in the day, was a starter for the Northwestern State Football team, Wide Receiver/Tight End, and graduated from college in 2008. Coach Seastrunk is an alum of the famous High School in Texas, Newton High School, which has produced several college prospects over the years to college. The football team will have 10 seniors in 2025 compared to 4 seniors in 2024. The team did not have a Spring because 15 football players were with the Baseball team during Spring and Baseball season. The school has some history in Athletic’s 2 Football State Titles in 1977 & 2015,2 Baseball State Titles in 1965 & 2011, and 1 State Title in Girls Basketball in 2020.

The program will have a good problem on Offense in 202Thereree is a Quarterback battle that might go through the Summer between talented young QB Preston Tilley, 6-1 189, and talented QB Ashton Johnson, 6-0 187. Both players will start for the team if one doesn’t start at QB. You could see a 2 QB system all season or one player emerge; we shall see in 2025. Both kids give the program a chance to win many games this upcoming year.

Just about every player will get reps at times or full-time time both sides of the football. They have more depth in 2025, but return a lot of experience on both sides of the football. Key players to keep a eye on are OT/DT Atlas Hicks 6-5 243 a 3 year starter leader,LB/RB John Paul Thibodeaux a 2 year starter 5-10 190 with 4.59 speed in the forty,RB/WR/DB Brady Childress 5-10 165 a really good Athlete,LB/OL Tucker Johnson 5-10 183 tough big time leader 3 year starter both sides of the football,OL/DL Blaise Conant 6-0 305 improved off season lost 40 pounds,CB/WR Michael French 5-9 155 new starter,WR/CB Cole Yopp 6-2 178,WR/CB/FS Chalin Gandy 5-10 160 a really good Athlete,LB/DT/FB Gannon Sheffield 5-6 175 coach calls him the Bulldog of the Defense,OC/OG Hudson Methvin 5-10 175,OT/DE Connor Kay 6-3 215,WR/DB Malachi Henderson 6-1 175 competing to start,TE/LB Dennison Morgan,CB Kane Dortlon 5-10 160,DT/DE La’Travion Jefferson 6-2 220 new player in the program,WR/OLB Haiden Nelson 6-0 180 had a big year in 2024 40 catches with 13 touchdowns All District & Hon Mention All State in 2024, also might play some DE,WR Aj Lavespere 5-8 160 rotating in,and Athlete Thomas Hardee 5-5 190 will rotate in for reps.

Special Teams will be a strong spot for the team in 2025, with the return of Long Snapper Cole Yopp. Punter will be Dennison Morgan, who averaged 39 yards per punt in 2024 with a 62-yard punt in 2024, and Kicker will be the talented Carter Hogg, 5-,7 150 had a 43-yard Field Goal in 2024,7/10 in Field Goals, and 34/39 in extra points, and was All District in 2024.
