Block Bears

Head Coach:Sa’Mel Washington(4th year)

2024 Record:2-8

2024 Playoffs: No

2023 Record:3-7

Key players Graduated: Athlete/QB/DB Kristian O’Steen(Grambling State), DE/WR Dakota Adams, WR/LB/RB Kylelon Barber.

Team Outlook: Tough year in 2024. We had some close games, kids played hard, but we did not have the depth to finish games when we had a lead. We play a tough schedule against teams like St. Frederick High School. General Trass played tough against them, but again just need to finish and keep the lead when we are playing well. We are just trying to make it to the season as a program with 15/20 players out working out for the Summer. We hope to get some seniors back that have missed Summer workouts, so we will have depth in 2025 said Head Coach Sa’Mel Washington.”

Tidbits: The Bears have won 6 games in 3 years combined. The program is trying to build depth and compete against teams with bigger rosters.  Block will play a 9-game schedule in 2025 because Tensas High School in the District has dropped football. Coach told me he hopes to have 25 to 30 players in the program for the Fall season.

These are the kids coach wanted me to promote that have been committed to the Summer program and dedicated to workouts WR/RB/QB/LB Marquese Bullitts 5-7 160 leader 3 year starter, RB/LB/Safety Dominigue Atkins 5-11 175 3 year starter,2nd year starter QB/WR/CB Bryan Bowie 6-3 170, WR/CB McCai Maxon 6-2 160 3 year starter, OL/DL James Kirby 6-0 260 3 year starter, OL/DL Jaion Curry 5-10 305 2nd year starter, and OL/DL Janiro Banks 5-9 180 2nd year starter.

The Football team at Delhi High School, after talking to the coach, had 20 to 23 players for Spring, and expected a bigger number of players to 30-35 total, in the Fall.

The Bears will have most players competing or starting on both sides of the football for the 2025 season. Key players Graduated:2024 Hon Mention All State RB/WR Tyrin Singelton, MLB/OG Jalen Ivy, QB/LB Will Wiley, TE/DL Titus Harrell, OG/DT Timothy Harrell, LB Braden Fairbanks, and FS Layne King

Team Outlook: Nice mixture between veteran players and young guys coming up in the program. We also have a great 8th-grade group coming up to help us in 2025. We have young guys that have been in our system said Head Coach Blake Wheeler.”

The Offense will have a new QB in Tylen Bailey, an Athletic kid with a knowledge of the Offense already. The RB & WR spots you have RB Tyler Simpson 5-9 180, WR/RB Akeem Johnson is back 5-8 170, WR/Safety Chase Evans returns 6-1 175,  FB Steven Lemoine 5-6 215, and WR/CB Tristan Burns will be a new starter with 4.55 speed. General Trass Panthers

Head Coach:Toriano Wells(10th year)

2024 Record:9-5

2024 Playoffs:  Semifinals lost to Haynesville HS

2023 Record:7-5 2nd Round lost to Haynesville HS

Key players Graduated: LB Vernon Nichols, DT/OG Jakilyn Spriggs, QB/Safety Ahmoniee Williams, WR Anton Davis, OC Joshua Hopkins, and OG JaXavier Lewis.

Team Outlook: A lot of skill guys back for 2025. We will have a new QB for the 1st time in 4 years. The Offense will be ahead of the Defense. The Offensive Line had a good Spring. We are developing our depth Spring & Summer so we can platoon to 2 deep in the Fall. Goal is to get bigger in the trenches and also add some Depth on Defense said Head Coach Toriano Wells.”

Tidbits: One of the longest tenured coaches to be a Head Coach at one school in North Louisiana is Toriano Wells. Coach Wells does a great job in developing players and never seems to have to rebuild, even when he loses a large SR class for a Class 1A program, which is hard to do every year. If this team stays healthy, it could challenge for a State Title in the end. The 2020 Football team made it all the way to the Semifinals, losing to Many High School.

The new QB will be Keimare Campbell, who played a lot in 2024 as a WR/DB/K/TE/FB, so he has experience on the varsity level. Campbell will also bring power to the QB spot at 6-0, 220 pounds will not be the easiest player in Class 1A to try and tackle. The Panthers also return several players who made All District, All State or Honorable Mention All District in 2025, RB/MLB Larry Stewart a 3 year starter 5-8 215, OL/DE Jamarion Powell 6-3 230 Ancor of the Offensive Line SR, WR/TE/OLB Jorden Grimes 6-2 180 a 3 year starter, CB Damarion Berry (8 interceptions in 2024) shut down CB All State SR, Jameson Durant Safety 6-2 175 3 year starter, CB/WR J’bion Newsom 6-0 165 4.59 speed in the forty, OC/OG Messiah Wilson 5-6 225, and Amarea Reynolds a CB/WR 5-9 155 (2 Sacks & 2 Interceptions in 2024).

More key players back for the Panthers are WR/Safety/OLB Jamarion Ware 6-4 180, WR/CB Jaden Weaver 5-5 145 4.6 speed in the forty, OL/DE Jakaveon Collins 6-3 210, DE/OG Freddie Fletcher 6-3 270, MLB Kourtess Moore 5-10 180, and RB/DB Khorey Mackey 5-5 135.

St. Frederick Warriors

Head Coach:Tony Osborne(1st year)

2024 Record:8-3

2024 Playoffs:1st Round lost to Southern Lab HS

2023 Record:6-4 2nd Round lost to Central Catholic HS

Key players Graduated:2024 Hon Mention All State Football WR/DB William Patrick(LSU Baseball), OL/DL Eli Carr, OG/DE AJ Jacola, DT/OG Samplice Simien(Northwestern State), LB/LSP AJ Melna(Hinds, Mississippi JC Baseball), K/CB Harper Joiner, WR/CB Kaden Miller,2024 All State DB Cole Parrino,  WR/FS Degan Jordan.

Team Outlook: I   feel very blessed to be the Head Football Coach at St.Frederick High School. I feel like we have the same training likas have at West Monroe HS, but we just don't have as many kids. I am  excited and looking forward to giving it everything I got, nd the team is working hard right now in the mornings for our ofoff-seasonrogram said Head Coach Tony Osborne.”

Tidbits: Head Coach Tony Osborne was a great hire for the Warriors. This is a coach who spent several years as the Defensive Coordinator at West Monroe HS under legend Jerry Arledge from 2003 to 2022. Ton Y also coached football in Oklahoma and Texas, where he is from, for several years prior to Louisiana. Coach also told me the High School is building a new Track and should be completed after the 2025 football season, which is very exciting.

There are a few positions up for grabs for Spring & Summer should decide the final spots for the team. Going into the Spring/Summer here are some of the top players in the program 2024 All State OT/DT Wyatt Polland 6-0 250 SR All District in 2024, SS /OLB/CB Clayton Turpin 5-11 180 SR, RB /SS/LSP Owen O’Neil 5-8 170 2nd Team All State/All District in 2024 and 2023 as a Linebacke r, LB /RB Darrell Cooper All District in 2024 and 2023 a big time player for the program Offense and Defense, OG /DT John Hays 5-10 215 All District 2024, OG /DE William Richardson 6-1 250 SR, Ce nter Jett Bernard 5-8 206 tough 3 year starter, LBJ.P Guerriero 5-11 180 talented young player, WR CarterShepard 6-2 190 SR sleepe r, QB /Safety Michael Malloy 6-0 180 new starting QB, WRStephen Austin 6-2 170,ne starting Kicker Harrison Rutz 6-1 160, RB /DB Warner Thompson new starter 5-10 165,ne w starter OT/DE Edward Fakhre 5-11 210, and new starter LB/DE Luke Rocconi 5-10 180.
