“We are very young with just one senior starter,” said Prairie View Academy head coach Jared Smelser. “The kids are working hard and they are excited. We have a tough schedule in 2023. We will use many formations on offense in 2023.We will play a few talented sophomores and eighth graders this coming year as starters.”

Most of the starters in the program will start both sides of the football. The program has a small senior class in 2023. The team has two quarterbacks: Hayden Little (5-8, 155), who is quick with a good arm, and QB Mason Tullos (6-1, 170), a taller quarterback who is more of a drop-back passer with a good arm. Both kids will start when the other is not the quarterback at another position.

The program returns some really good linemen for this District in senior OL/DL John David Pipes (6-2, 265) who not only is strong but has great feet as well, an experienced starter in OL/DL Abram Anthony (6-2, 270) another strong and experienced starter with good feet, OL/DL Fisher Daniels (5-8, 255) and OL/DL Brayden Decourte (5-8, 190) who is small but tough and can move and block.

power and speed (4.6 forty), WR/FB/LB/TE Will Waggoner (6-1, 190) and WR/DB/RB/CB/DE Coltan Yeldell (5-9, 165) who is a tough and strong kid.

The special teams unit returns the strong leg of Dylan Hall, who will also handle punting duties too.

Coach Smelser was the head coach for MAIS program Riverdale for six years through the 2022 season.
