Recruit Video Interview: Louisiana College LB Signee Scott Wisby, Rosepine High School
by Jace LeJeune
We have finished our 23rd annual magazine cover shoot, but this year marked the third straight year in which we have conducted both a North and South photo shoot. This year, we shot the North photo shoot at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches and we shot the South photo shoot at Catholic High School in Baton Rouge. Both events were really successful, and we would like to thank everybody who has helped us make both events so special for the players that were involved. Besides taking the photos, Louisiana Football Magazine’s owner Lee Brecheen and editor Jace LeJeune got the chance to talk to some of the top Class of 2020 players in the state of the Louisiana. Both Brecheen and LeJeune talked to the recruits about their top schools, goals for the upcoming season, hobbies, and so much more. For the next couple of months, we will post these video interviews that were taken at both photoshoot events.
In today’s recruit interview, we go to Catholic High School where Lee Brecheen caught up with Rosepine High School senior linebacker and Louisiana College signee Scott Wisby before the start of the season!
Scott Wisby: The Rosepine Eagles have been successful the last three seasons winning 25 games after going 0-10 in 2016. A big reason for the turnaround is because of the toughness the team has shown during that time. A player that has exemplified that toughness is do it all senior Scott Wisby. Wisby is one of those lunchpail guys that might not get the glory, but gets the dirty work done in order to help his team. As a junior, Wisby was the district’s defensive MVP while leading the Eagles to a 11 win season. Whether it is playing on the defensive line, linebacker, or even fullback on offense, Wisby has shown what it takes to be just a good old fashioned football player at 6-1, 230 pounds. The Eagles may not have won over ten games like in 2017 and 2018, but Wisby’s leadership guided Coach Brad Ducote’s squad to a third straight playoff appearance. After a productive high school career, the Rosepine senior has decided to continue his playing career into college as he will play for the Louisiana College Wildcats.
