The Wildcats have had a strong start to the season as they are 3-0, including an impressive victory over Northwood (Shreveport) 12-7 in Week Two.
“The sky’s the limit for this group because our run game is strong and so is our defensive front,” Wossman head coach Terence Cahee said. “We have a chance in a tough district to do well this season.”
The offense has a few options for speed as the skill talent is very strong for the Wildcats. At quarterback, the Wildcats return three-year starter Triston Wooten (6-2, 165, Sr.) who had a great summer and spring for the program. The skill spots are talented once again as they have both speed and strength. Some notable players include RB Eric Griffin (5-10, 200, 4.5 speed), WR Travis Lynch (6-1, 180), returning starter WR Antron Mason (5-11, 160, 4.45 speed), WR/CB Prestavion Washington (4.5 speed) and ATH Richard Wilson (4.45 speed) who can play anywhere on offense to help the team win games. The offensive line has some size and ability in three-year starting center DeAndre Collins (5-10, 260, Sr.), OG Traveion Colvin (5-11, 305), OL Jacob Dunn (6-3, 220), two-way starter Daniel Whitlock (6-0, 260) and OL Azarion Wade (6-2, 260). You will also see starting DI recruit DT Jayden Williams (6-3, 290) getting snaps on the offensive line.

Wossman RB David Griffin
The defense will return one of the best Defensive Tackles I saw in Louisiana the past two years in Jayden Williams, a kid that has tons of upside for a major college. The rest of the front is also very strong with DE/OLB Fred Clark (6-2, 200), LB/Safety Devin Brown, DE/DT Ke’Sean Hines (6-1, 240), MLB Javontai Spears (5-11, 220, Sr.), DT Ta’mahjay Burrell (5-9, 205), DE Broderick Walker (5-10, 240), LB Jeremiah Griffin (5-11, 185, 4.6 speed) and OLB Cordell Payne (5-7, 180, Sr.) who is tough as nails.
The secondary has some talent too in two-way starter CB Prestavion Washington, DB Dylan Johnson (4.6 speed), CB/SS Richard Williams (4.5 speed), DB Zion Weeks (6-0, 180) and DB Jordyn Williams (5-9, 165, Sr.) who has big-time speed and recorded 97 tackles in 2022 along with seven interceptions the last 2 years for the program.
On special teams, you have one of the best return specialists in the Monroe area, Richard Williams.
