“We are working hard as a team and I feel good about what we’re building here at St. Frederick,” said St. Frederick head coach Andy Robinson. “We have the ability if we stay healthy to win a lot of games. We have some experience back and some really good young talent.”
The offense will have a new starting QB in Parker Robinson, who is the son of Coach Robinson. Parker was All-District in basketball as an 8th grader in 2022. The run game will have a chance to be strong which will help the young QB out a lot. The run game is led by talented RB Montrel Connor, who was 2nd team All-State in track in 2022 in the 60m hurdles. Connor can run a legit 4.45 forty already. The Warriors also have a young and talented running back in M.J. Dade, who is quick and has some power to go along with it. WR/FS William Patrick is one of the most gifted players in all of Class 1A football with All-State honors in Football in 2022, All-District in baseball and All-State in Track in 2022. Patrick is 6-2 185 pounds with great vertical and speed 4.5 to be a match-up problem all year for opposing teams. The Offense also has talented receivers in
(5-10, 180) and senior WR/RB Garrett Taylor (5-10, 175) who has 4.6 speed and also can carry the ball for this team again as a leader in 2023. The offensive line has the size and experience to make all this work for the run and pass game led by senior OT Vasser Day (6-4, 250) who is a leader and four-year starter, OG Eli Carr (6-2, 245) three-year starter, and three-year starter OG/C A.J. Jacola (6-3, 240) who was All-District in 2022.

The defense will be led by its experienced defensive line which has that and size for Class 1A. The Defensive Line consists of DT Samplice Semion (6-1, 275) three-year starter, senior DE Kenny Cooper (6-2, 240), Darrell Cooper (6-0, 240), three-year senior DE Aaron Parker (6-0, 205) and three-year starter senior DE Brennan McCarthy (6-1, 230). The linebacker unit is led by LB AJ Melna (5-11, 190). They also return one of the best safeties in Louisiana in FS William Patrick (6-2, 185, 4.5 speed) who can line up anywhere as a safety, linebacker, cornerback or even rush from the edge as a defensive end if needed. The program is hoping at some point to get CB/WR Anthony Jackson (6-0, 180) back as a starter as he is still recovering from an injury.
Coach Robinson played football for Louisiana Tech in Ruston for college. Graduated from Delhi HS. After his playing career, he coached for Louisiana Tech in 2005 as the outside linebackers coach & recruiting coordinator. Before coaching at St. Fred’s, Robinson also coached at Kilgore HS in Texas for Louisiana coaching Legend Mike Vallery. He also served as the offensive coordinator for Ouachita HS and for Jerrod Baugh at Ruston HS under current head coach Jerrod Baugh. Coach Robinson’s Wife Ashley played basketball for the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters under coach Leon Barmore & she was inducted into the LHSAA Hall of Fame in 2020. Open for enrollment since 1964, St. Frederick is one of the few Catholic high schools in North Louisiana and serves grades 7th to 12th grade.
