The Vikings have already equaled their win total from last season as they have gotten off to a 3-1 start. They have wins against Northwest, Washington-Marion and Berwick. Northside’s only loss came against the hands of a very good Cecilia program.
The offense is led by QB Jaylin Williams. Most players will play both sides of the football in 2023. Key players coming back need to have big years in OLB/TE Ke’Andre Barfield (6-4, 220) who is a gifted player, three-year starter OL/DL Kaleb Fox (6-2, 330, Sr.), WR/SS Javon Brossard (5-8, 160, 4.5 speed), second-year starter SS/Athlete Keagan Dugas (5-11, 185, Sr.), third-year starter MLB/RB Ja’Nathan Bonnet (5-9, 195), top receiver WR/DB Cameron Gotch (5-11, 170, Sr.) who has 4.45 speed, RB/DB Latrell Johnson (5-10, 165, Sr.), OC/DT Malachi Celestine (5-11, 265) who is a three-year starter, OLB Jaden Walker (5-11, 180, 4.6 speed) who is a tough player, DT/OL Jemiyi Navy (5-11, 250) who is a tough nose in the trenches, second-year starter OG/DT Oliver Harris (6-0, 265, Sr.) who has never missed practice and WR/DB Damon Comeaux (5-8, 155) who is a big-time playmaker with 4.5 speed.

Head coach Jacarde Carter graduated from Northside High School in (Class 2009). I covered Coach Carter in High School. He was a great linebacker in high school and he would eventually become the starting linebacker for Grambling’s football team. Coach Carter was Northside’s defensive coordinator in 2022.
