Louisiana Football Editor and Owner Lee Brecheen has scouted all of these guys from the 2015 season to now. Lee has seen these guys in person whether it was in games or in team practices. The opinions on these players below are only from Lee Brecheen not from any other recruiting site. This is the 2nd Team All-North Louisiana Offensive and Defensive Team. The 1st and 2nd All-North Louisiana team consists of senior players from the Monroe, Alexandria, Shreveport, and its Metro areas.

Note: We will feature articles on the players that did not make the 2nd Team All-North and All-South Louisiana team that are either DI, I-AA, D-II, D-III, NAIA, or JUCO caliber over the next six months daily whether it would be one player or articles written on a group of players. There are also plenty of kids that did not make the list that will eventually sign with colleges when it is all said and done. These players were chosen because they are either great players that have had great careers or productive seasons before or players that are rated highly by Brecheen or by the coaches to have big time seasons in their senior years. QB:

Cameron Felt

6-1, 198

C.E. Byrd High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Cameron Felt is an underrated quarterback. He is both a good runner and a good passer. Overall, he is just a good athlete. He potentially can be the complete quarterback. In time, he could end up being a really good quarterback at the I-AA level.”

Bio: After splitting time as the starting quarterback for veteran Head Coach Mike Suggs his sophomore year, senior QB Cameron Felt showed why that he was starting at such a young age. In a heavy running offense, Felt does not really get a chance to show off his arm, but when the opportunity comes knocking, he has shown that he can take the most of it completing 23 of 25 passes for 267 yards and two touchdowns. Felt has also shown that he can run the football effectively himself with 4.65/40 speed. As of right now, his top two schools are Southern Arkansas and Ouachita Baptist.

“I really like Ouachita Baptist,” Felt said. “When I went down for a camp, I just really liked their campus. I’m looking for something that feels like home and a coaching staff that makes me feel like family.”

When not playing football, Felt likes driving around and eating at different restaurants. An interesting fact about Felt is that he likes mixing his food. His goals for this season are to lead the team to a state championship while being looked at as a leader for him team throughout the season.

 

Jordan Preuett

6-4, 180

Lakeside High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Jordan Preuett is a tall, classic dropback passer that has a good arm and release. He is a big time sleeper that I saw play in a full game last season. He is a hidden gem that could either sign at the I-AA level or even walk on at the DI level.”

Bio: Lakeside High School senior QB Jordan Preuett will go down as one of the best quarterbacks in program history when it is all said and done. The school’s all time leading passer had a great season accounting for close to 2,000 yards and 25 touchdowns while leading the Warriors to a playoff appearance. However, Preuett is looking to build on those numbers and lead the Warriors to a deep playoff run in 2019. With a two headed backfield featuring the program’s leading passer and the program’s leading rusher in Jocquez Lott, this could be a breakout season for the Warriors. His goals for the upcoming season are to win district, lead the team to a playoff run, and also have over 30 touchdown passes, five rushing touchdowns, and overall, become a good leader for the team. As far as schools are concerned, Preuett is open to any schools that want to take a chance on him to play at the next level.

 

 

Jaden Procell

6-0, 175

Ruston High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Jaden Procell is a big time sleeper that was previously at North DeSoto High School before transferring to Ruston High School. He is really athletic, but is also football savvy with great feet in the pocket. He is not super tall, but I believe he is tall enough to be a really good I-AA quarterback. Right now, I say he is a I-AA caliber player, but if he takes his game to that next step, he could potentially be even DI when it is all said and done.”

Bio: Last season, Jaden Procell completed 91 of 173 passes for 1,119 yards and nine touchdowns while also running for 202 yards and three more touchdowns. Now, after calling the signals at North DeSoto High School, the dual threat quarterback has transferred to Ruston High School. The addition of Procell will make the Bearcats much more of a state championship contender in 2019. His top two schools are Louisiana Tech and Northwestern State, especially the Bulldogs.

“I really like Louisiana Tech because they have a good business school, which is something I am interested in,” Procell said.

When not playing football, Procell likes hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. 

 

 

Kenneth Gay

6-2, 200

Plain Dealing High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Kenneth is intriguing because it has not all come together yet for him, which is a complement to him because it will be scary once his full potential is shown. I am interested to see what he does this year because he has great size and ability. If he does put it all together this year, he can become a big time recruit.”

Bio: Kenneth Gay’s recruitment is still open as of now, but if there are some schools that he is looking at the most right now, it would be Southern Arkansas, Grambling, and Texas Southern.

“I am looking to go to a school that has a good education as well as a football coaching staff that wants me,” Gay said.

In the offseason, the Benton High School transfer likes working out every day, hanging out with friends, playing Madden, and also, playing basketball. His goals for the upcoming season are to lead the team to a deep playoff run and try to go to state.

 

ATH:

Max Hunter

6-0, 175

Neville High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “We listed Max as an athlete, but he is a running back for Neville High School. The kid has been very productive over his career going back to his sophomore season. He just needs to either fill out more in order to be a DI running back or he could also switch to another position like strong safety or slot receiver. Max needs to get a little bit bigger, but he can really run. No matter what the size is, college recruiters love guys that can run.”

Bio: With 4.5/40 speed, Max Hunter ran for 1,200 yards as a running back and also accounted for more than 400 yards in the return game. Hunter does not have any top schools as of now, but he does have a dream school in which he always wants to attend.

“I would love to attend Cal because it has always been my dream school,” Hunter said.

When not playing football, Hunter can be seen either working out or playing video games. His biggest goal is to bring the state championship trophy back to Neville High School.

 

Devontae Dismuke

6-0, 180

Union Parish High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Devontae is a great player that is very underrated. If he was like at Neville, Ruston, West Monroe, or Ouachita, he would probably get a little bit more recognition because people get caught up in the name of the school, but I think Union Parish is one of those teams that always puts out some great players. A lot of their guys are flying under the radar. The kid can run and he is tough. Toughness and speed makes a great combination. Not all kids that can run are tough, but Devontae definitely fits that mold. The thing is I don’t know where you would play him because he can play running back, safety, or even grow to play outside linebacker. I think DI schools will be out of their mind to not take him, especially the mid major DI programs.

Bio: With 4.45/40 speed, Union Parish High School senior Devontae Dismuke had 46 total tackles, 29 solo, two fumble recoveries, five pass deflections, and a scoop and score on defense in 2018. Also, as a kick returner, he had one returned for a touchdown. With that being said, Dismuke made 1st Team All-District in 2018. As of right now, his top schools are LSU, McNeese State, and ULL. He is leaning towards LSU because it has been a dream of his to play there since he was six. When not playing football, he likes to hang out and watch football highlights on YouTube. Most of all, Dismuke wants to be a good person that likes to lift people up when down. His goals for his senior season are to lead the team to a state championship, make 1st Team All-District honors again as well as make 1st Team All-State and win District Defensive MVP.

 

 

 

 

Keonte Dunbar

6-2, 190

Sicily Island High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Keonte Dunbar is probably the biggest Class 1A sleeper in the state. Nobody really talks about Sicily Island. I did get a chance to watch them on field and Keonte stands out. He is tall, athletic, and would probably be a starter pretty much everywhere else in the state. He could start at like a West Monroe and become one of their top players just to give you an idea. He is a great player, but since he plays for a small school, he plays positions where the team would need him. For Sicily Island, he plays wide receiver, defensive back, and even a little at linebacker. However, in college, he would make a great flanker or free safety. Who knows, with a little more weight, he could grow to play some outside linebacker. Sicily Island’s kids tend to be light players that can run, but I am sure that Keonte can gain ten to fifteen pounds already with 4.5/40 speed.

Bio: Last season, the Sicily Island High School star athlete helped the Tigers led by Coach Donald Money to one of their best seasons in recent memory when the team posted a winning record and won its first playoff game in over 27 years. In 2018, Keonte Dunbar made a lot of big plays with over 800 yards receiving while also throwing for a touchdown and returning a punt for a touchdown. He now would look to make even more plays for the Tigers in 2019. As of right now, the 1st Team All-State selection has received one offer from Texas Southern University, but his top schools are LSU, Southern, and ULM.

“Right now, I’m leaning to either LSU or ULM because I love them both as schools in general and I feel like they will help me with my future,” Dunbar said.

The things that Dunbar enjoys doing during the offseason is playing basketball, video games, helping his family, and just hanging out with his friends. An interesting fact about Dunbar is that he loves anime.

 

CJ McWilliams

5-9, 165

Haughton High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “CJ McWilliams had some injuries in 2018 and as a result, had to miss some games, but man, he is a guy that gives it his all and can run a 4.5/40. He even looks faster than that on the football field and does a great job of attacking the football. He is a playmaker and reminds me of the North Louisiana version of Drew Dileo (Parkview Baptist/Michigan) a few years back. CJ has a magical ability with the ball in his hands. If he can just stay healthy over a course of a whole season, he could have a huge season.”

Bio: CJ McWilliams is a special athlete for Haughton High School not only on the gridiron, but on the baseball diamond as well. In fact, after receiving an offer from Louisiana Tech his junior season, he decided to commit to the Bulldogs in order to play both sports. Despite some injuries, McWilliams still managed to have a very productive season when he did play with 31 catches for 484 yards and seven touchdowns. After playing football, McWilliams managed to easily transition to baseball where he had a .333 batting average and 20 stolen bases. He is looking for a big senior season in both sports, especially football. With fellow wide receiver Tristan Sweeney, this duo has a chance to be one of the best in North Louisiana. Besides Louisiana Tech, McWilliams holds other DI offers from Air Force, Tulane, ULM, and Army.

 

A.J. Fenceroy

5-8, 172

Bastrop High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “A.J. Fenceroy is a phenomenal athlete as one of the fastest and quickest players in North Louisiana. Again, he is a player that is flying way under the radar. He is not a big guy, but like KaVontae Turpin (Neville/TCU), forget about the height and weight. He is a playmaker and I think that he can earn a DI scholarship, especially as a kick returner or a punt returner.”

Bio: A.J. Fenceroy does not really keep up with stats, but he does keep up is the input from his coaches on how he can continue to be a better football player. Motivation always drives Fenceroy as he puts a lot of work in the offseason and uses his lack of height as the main driving force in order to prove people wrong. As far as his top schools are concerned, Fenceroy has none at the moment, but he is looking for a program that features a spread offense and would be able to use his skill set effectively. His goal for the season is to not stop until he is where he wants to be and that is to play at the collegiate level.

 

Darrius Grant

6-1, 185

Captain Shreve High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Darrius Grant is just a great athlete for Captain Shreve High School. At another 5A school, Grant would probably play free safety or receiver, but he is the best quarterback on their team. He is capable of playing many positions in college. As a quarterback, Grant does a great job of managing the team and his arm is getting better each year with his fast 4.6/40 speed. Another great thing about him is that he does not necessarily have to do too much because he does have great athletes around him.”

Bio: In 2018, Darrius Grant threw for 1,226 yards and accounted for 15 touchdowns while making All-District honors. His top schools are Mississippi State, Houston, Southern Miss, Texas Tech, and ULL.

“I’m waiting to the end of the season to narrow down on a particular school, but what I want from a school is to be welcomed with open arms and to make sure that their academic program is right for me before football, and to just take in as much as I can from the university and to just stay on track with school/football,”  Grant said.

Outside of football, Grant is laid back as he likes playing video games with his friends, hunting, going on trips with his family, and keeping his body in shape by playing basketball as well as putting on individual workouts with his teammates. His goals for the upcoming season are to throw for over 2,000 yards and run for another 500 yards while leading the team to an undefeated regular season, a district championship, and finally, win the Class 5A state championship and Class 5A MVP award.

 

Chad Green

6-0, 185

Block High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Chad Green does it all for Block High School. His stats on all three phases of the game will blow you away. This is another kid that will start at a powerhouse Class 5A school. It’s hard to see how good he could be since he is only playing at the 1A level. I think he can be a cornerback at the next level maybe even play a little nickel corner. Chad needs to get a little stronger, but he is definitely a hidden gem.”

Bio: As a running back in 2018, Chad Green ran for 650 yards and three touchdowns. On defense, he had 75 tackles. Also as a wide receiver, he caught six passes for 85 yards. His top schools are Grambling, Southern, Liberty, ULM, Southeastern, Arkansas Monticello, and LSU. Green would love to go to any of these colleges, especially Grambling and Southern as he grew up watching the Bayou Classics games between the two on T.V.

“That’s just one of those games that everybody is waiting to see and I always said that I will play in that game one day,” Green said.

When looking at schools, Green also looks at the school’s majors as well as the overall environment and atmosphere. During the offseason, Green likes to spend his free time playing basketball and working out. His goals for the upcoming season are to be the best high school football player he can be and do whatever it takes to help the team win and bring the pride back to Block High School football.

 

Jax Miller

6-3, 215

Evangel Christian Academy

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Jax Miller has so much upside. I watched him get in some games as a backup and when you see him come into games, you just go wow. This is the way that players are supposed to look. Once he puts it all together, he can be one of those guys that just comes out of nowhere and has a monster year. He is a gifted player at 6-3, 215 pounds and can run for his size. The thing is I don’t know what he is going to become. If I was a ULM, a Louisiana Tech, or a Northwestern State, I would sign this kid as either a middle linebacker or as a tight end.”

Bio: Jax Miller made 1st Team All-District and All-City honors in 2018. As of right now, Miller is uncommitted as he has not received any offers from any college. In addition to finding any schools that will give him a chance to succeed as a football player, he is also looking for a school that has the major that he is looking for.

“When I go to college, I will be looking for a strong engineering or nursing program,” Miller said.

During the offseason, Miller spends his time hanging out with friends. His goals for the upcoming season are to win the state championship and make All-State.

 

Jonathan Ashley

6-2, 205

Southwood High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Jonathan Ashley is a big guy that has a lot of potential. I would love to see a great senior season from him. He came on the scene later last year, but this year, I really want to see him put everything all together.”

Bio: As of right now, Southwood High School senior athlete Jonathan Ashley has received only one offer and that is from Vermilion Community College. This season, Ashley will switch positions for the Cowboys as the former wide receiver will now be the starting running back. With a big frame and 4.6/40 speed, Ashley has the potential to become one of North Louisiana’s breakout stars in 2019.

 

 

 

 

Tanner Hooker

6-1, 185

Calvary Baptist Academy

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Tanner Hooker is really underrated. He plays both defensive back and wide receiver. I think he can play either one in college as he runs a legitimate 4.5/40 or maybe even better. He is a really great athlete that already has some size on hi,. It’s hard to tell where to put him because he plays on both sides of the football for Calvary Baptist and he never really leaves the game. His teammate Eric Reed Jr. (Ole Miss commit) gets all the notoriety because of the two, he is the one that is most filled out already, but I think Hooker will be over 200 pounds once he gets to college. They really are two unique kids at one school.”

Bio: Last season, Tanner Hooker had 30 tackles, three interceptions, a forced fumble, and five passes defended. His top schools are Tulane, Kansas, Kansas State, SMU, Indiana, Colorado, Southern Miss, Louisiana Tech, Arkansas State, and Toledo. When talking with Hooker weeks ago, there was a leader among the bunch for the three star playmaker.

“I really like SMU because it’s close to home and the education is top notch,” Hooker said. “Also, the coaching staff is great.”

However, that was before Hooker visited Kansas and had a great visit there. In fact, the visit was so great that he decided to commit to the Jayhawks a couple of days ago. Now, that he has made the decision to commit before the start of his senior year, his goals for the season are to stay healthy and lead the Cavaliers to a state championship. When Hooker is not playing football, he can be seen hanging out with friends, playing video games, or going to his Mom’s house in Texas during the offseason. 

 

Malik Carey

6-1, 180

Captain Shreve High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Malik Carey is a late bloomer at Captain Shreve High School. He still has a lot of growing to do, but his senior year could be a chance for him to really blow up. Last year, he showed a little bit, but he really showed what he is capable of at the end of last season.”

Bio: With a 6-1, 180 pound frame to go along with 4.5/40 speed, there is no wonder why colleges have lately shown interest in Captain Shreve High School senior ATH Malik Carey. As of right now, Carey has received an offer from Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Henderson State, Northeastern State University, and most recently, Lamar University. It will be interesting to see how many more schools will offer the intriguing prospect by season’s end. His top schools include Lamar, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, as well as Central Arkansas and Memphis. After 25 tackles, three interceptions, six pass breakups, and a forced fumble on defense last season, Carey’s goals for this season are to be a leader for his team, win the state championship, and become 1st Team All-State. When Carey is not playing football, he is either hanging out with friends or even babysitting his girlfriend’s little cousin.

 

Kemontavous Grant

5-9, 170

Homer High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Kemontavous Grant is a very hidden gem. He is a guy that can go I-AA and become a star. Grant can be a running back, a slot receiver, a cornerback, a strong safety, and many other positions.”

Bio: The backfield duo of QB Kemontavous “Money” Grant and RB Star Thomas led the Homer Pelicans to a successful 2018 season winning seven games while advancing to the second round of the Class 1A playoffs. With both guys returning, the Pelicans could be one of the top sleeper teams in the classification. When defending both guys in the option, it is pretty much pick your poison as the defense would have to choose to defend Grant, who has 4.44/40 speed, or Thomas, who has 4.4/40 speed. Grant is known more for his running ability, but he has shown that he can dropback and pass a little bit. Last season, he had over 500 yards and seven touchdowns.

 

 

DeAndre Livingston

6-1, 220

Lincoln Prep

Lee’s Scouting Report: “DeAndre Livingston is a big time late bloomer. In speaking of hidden gems, he is as hidden as they come. He can play linebacker, tight end, or grow to play defensive end. Because Lincoln Prep lacks depth, he has to play almost everywhere. He is intriguing and it will be interesting to see what he really grows into, but he can really run for his size as well.”

Bio: Last season, DeAndre Livingston made 2nd Team All-District as a linebacker. Despite his versatility, DeAndre Livingston is still looking for a school to take a chance on him.

“I don’t really have any schools yet. I am still looking,” Livingston said. “Things that I am looking for in a school is what is the best opportunity for me to make it to the next level or if not just help prepare me later on in life.”

Livingston is always finding ways on how he can improve himself and can continue working on his craft. His main goal for this season is to become a better leader for his team.

 

 

 

Devion Mason

6-2, 190

Tensas High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “After not being eligible last season, Devion Mason is back as arguably the team’s best player on both sides of the football. Once again, he is another hidden gem that could start for a lot of other bigger programs.”

Bio: As of right now, Devion Mason has yet to receive any offers.

“The school I would love to attend and play for is LSU because it’s home,” Mason said. “They have great fan support and a great coaching staff.”

Mason is a two sport athlete and during the offseason, he spends his time playing AAU basketball. His goals for the upcoming season are to end the season in December, be a great leader for the underclassmen coming up, and show Tensas High School that anything is possible. 

 

 

 

 

RB: 

DeTrelyn Maxie

5-9, 180

Booker T. Washington High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “DeTrelyn Maxie was at Evangel Christian Academy and then transferred to Booker T. Washington. He is a really good athlete. The reason he transferred was not because of playing time as he actually would have been the starter heading to the season replacing Tamauge Sloan (Lamar), who graduated last season. Maxie is actually a huge pickup for Booker T. Washington and might make the difference in pickup up another win or two for them. He is not a big guy, but is very athletic and can run a 4.5/40. He is that kind of back that could work well at the I-AA level. Who knows, he may end up with a small DI school in the end.”

 

 

Thomas Williams

5-11, 200

Airline High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Thomas Williams has had some unfortunate injuries in the past including last year. When healthy, I think he is one of the best running backs in North Louisiana and one of the true DI running backs in the state. He is a smooth runner at 5-11, 200 pounds as he can cut and has good vision to go along with it. Actually, if he stays healthy, Airline High School will become a different team, and he would actually be ranked higher if he was healthy last year. I have seen him practice in pads and he has the ability. I just hope that he avoids the injury bug this year.”

Bio: As of right now, Thomas Williams has two top schools in Louisiana Tech and Southern Miss.

“I am not leaning toward any school,” Williams said. “I’m looking for a school that offers me first and looking for the school that will give me the best education.”

When not playing football, Williams likes conditioning, lifting weights, and hanging out with friends. His biggest goal for this season is to lead the team to a winning season after not making the playoffs in 2018.

 

 

 

Cam’Ron Randall

5-10, 205

Vidalia High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Cam’Ron Randall is a super player at Vidalia High School. He is probably their best recruit in over 20 years and is not really getting the DI love like other players are getting. I don’t know if he will get a DI offer, but this kid will definitely become a steal if he does fall I-AA. I know a lot of big time programs that would love to start him at running back like a Ruston High School, a West Monroe High School, etc. This guy has the talent as he is fast, strong, tough, and is all of 205 pounds. Also, don’t forget that he has been starting for four years. He is one of the main reasons why Vidalia will be good once again this season.”

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

LaDerien Frieson

5-10, 180

Captain Shreve High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “LaDerien Frieson is very underrated. He is not a big guy, but he can run. Like his teammate Darrius Grant, they have other athletes that can run so he won’t be overused as much. LaDerien is really shifty in the open field. Isaiah Brown

5-9, 225

Calvary Baptist Academy

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Isaiah Brown is like a tank, but he runs smooth for a big guy. His dad Vyron Brown was actually a former player and coach for Grambling State. Also, his older brother Shun Brown was at Arizona and a phenomenal player in his own right, but I think this kid has DI ability. I think some DI school will end up taking him and that school will end up getting a 1,500 yard rusher. I personally think he is LSU good, but if you are not ranked and don’t have the stars, it is hard to get recruited by these schools now a days. However, I am here to tell you that he is a SEC running back and don’t count him out in the end because some SEC schools might come in late, see some film, and give him a late offer.”

Bio: On only 136 carries, Isaiah Brown ran for 1,103 yards and 14 touchdowns while averaging eight yards per carry and accounting for 19 total touchdowns in 2018. As of right now, Brown has no top schools. When the bruising Calvary Baptist Academy runner is not playing football, he can be seen either enjoying time with his family, working out at the school, or playing video games. His goals for the upcoming season are to win the state championship while becoming 1st Team All-City, 1st Team All-State, and become Class 1A Offensive MVP.

 

 

 

Jocquez Lott

5-10, 215

Lakeside High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Jocquez Lott is just a big fish in a small pond. He is a compact back and is somebody that I absolutely love. Once again, I think that this guy is a DI player. A lot of people would ask what is Lakeside High School, but they really have some great players this year. I think this kid can go to a ULM or a Louisiana Tech. I think he would be a steal for Northwestern State. This is a guy that is not a project, but can be a starter right away. Bio: Last season, Jocquez Lott ran for 1.575 yards and 25 touchdowns. As of right now, the program’s all-time leading rusher is uncommitted, but he is leaning towards one particular school.

“Right now, I do not have any schools looking at me, but for right now, I feel like my top school would be Northwestern State because I feel like I would be great up there. I love meeting new people and I would be closer to home,” Lott said.

During the offseason, Lott spends his free time swimming, working out, and sleeping. His goals for the upcoming season are to win a lot of games, break his own rushing record, and run with even more physicality than he has run with in the past.

 

 

Lieric Robinson

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Lieric Robinson is one of the biggest sleeper running backs in the Shreveport area. I have seen him play in a full game and he has power, speed, and great vision. I don’t understand why people say that this is a down year in recruiting in Louisiana, but he is a guy that could go to a Northwestern State or a Grambling and become a steal. He is going to be over 200 pounds once he gets to college.”

Bio: In 2018, Lieric Robinson had a 2nd Team All-District season running for 986 yards and 11 touchdowns while at the same time, did not have a single fumble. His top schools are East Texas Baptist University and Louisiana College for football. However, Robinson is also considering LSU to just go for engineering. When Robinson is not playing football, he likes hanging out with his family and also working out with his brother in order to stay in shape during the offseason. His goal for this season is to have more yards and touchdowns than last year as well as help give his team a chance of winning the state championship.”

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Greg Bailey will become a fullback in college. Some colleges are getting rid of the fullback, which is a shame. I personally believe that you always need a guy like that, but if you need a fullback that is already 6-1, 225 pounds and can run, then, this is your guy. ULM still uses their fullback so this could be a great signee for them. If he falls to I-AA, then it would be a big steal.”

Bio: It was evident that Greg Bailey was going to be a featured part of the Franklin Parish offense since his first start when he was named the Monroe News Star Hero of the Week. His top schools are LSU and Louisiana Tech. He is actually leaning towards Louisiana Tech because of its engineering courses. However, he is open to either college. When Bailey is not playing football, he is actually playing tennis. In fact, Bailey made the tennis state tournament last year and would like to do it again this year. Bailey’s goals on the football field this upcoming season are to help contribute to the best of his abilities while leading the Patriots to a successful season.

Lee’s Scouting Report: “This guy is powerful. He is a big time player that had DI blocking ability. If I were a team, I would just sign Jalen Deloach just to block. He is powerful at 240 pounds and brings it as he is a former lineman. Jalen reminds me a lot of the fullbacks that LSU used to have.  If you want a fullback that is ready now, then he is your guy.

 

Derrick Payne

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Derrick Payne is a hidden gem for sure. He even has some stats to back it up. When you see this person in person, he looks like a man amongst boys. He is 6-0, 235 pounds and is chiseled. It has been a while since I have seen a fullback like this come from Natchitoches Central, but I have seen him play. He is also quick to go along with his size so he has a chance to become a DI fullback.”

Bio: There are not a lot of fullbacks out there that have been as productive and as versatile as Natchitoches Central High School’s own Derrick Payne. Last season, Payne showed his ability not only as a blocker, but even as a runner with 80 carries for 462 yards and five touchdowns all with an average of 5.7 yards per carry. What is even most impressive about the big man is that he is also the team’s starting punter after averaging 30 yards a punt last season.

 

 

 

 

Reese Ebarb

Lee’s Scouting Report: “This kid made the list because he is tough not so much that he is a big time college prospect. He is a D-III guy, but is one of those guys that is a great leader that everyone needs to have. Reese Ebarb is coming off an injury last season and is also a wrestler. He is a little undersized maybe even as a fullback, but I think he can be a heck of a fullback or a linebacker at the D-III level because he just brings it on every play. We got to have guys like Reese on this list.”

Bio: Due to an ACL injury from last season, which cost Reese Ebarb his entire junior season, he has no school offers. However, he has set some very high goals for himself coming off that injury as he wants to run for over 2,200 yards and 22 touchdowns. When not playing football, Ebarb enjoys spending time with his family and his girlfriend as well as working on his truck. An interesting fact about the Loyola Prep senior runner is that he has five siblings.

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Cameron Jackson is a phenomenal athlete and is arguably the top playmaker for Jena High School this season on offense. He is not a big guy, but at slot receiver, he is a DI player. Although, he may slip down to either some I-AA or D-II schools. If that’s the case, shame on the bigger schools because he is a playmaker.”

Bio: Cameron Jackson has done a little bit of everything for the team as he was 2nd Team All-District as a wide receiver and 1st Team All-District as a return specialist. His top schools are Louisiana Tech, Northwestern State, ULM, and Louisiana College.

“I am undecided right now, but I am looking for a school with a great community and amazing classes in my major,” Jackson said.

When Jackson is not playing football, he can be seen with a fishing rod in his hand bass fishing or on the field improving and working on his craft as a receiver. His goals for the upcoming season are to get 1st Team All-District honors as a wide receiver, defensive back, and return specialist along with playing 15 games this season. For those keeping count, that would mean playing all the way to the Superdome.

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Jake Lashley is another guy that maybe a little undersized, but he backs it up with his 4.5/40 speed. He is also a good leader and tough as well. Although he may play running back and safety for the team, I see him as a great fit as a slot receiver at the I-AA level.”

Bio: As of right now, Jake Lashley’s top schools are Northwestern State, ULM, Louisiana Tech, and he is also even considering JUCO in terms of playing sports at the next level.

“I would love to go to Northwestern State or ULM because it’s close and I could represent my state against some good competition.”

Along with being a talented football player, Lashley is also a talented baseball player as well making All-State as a catcher. In terms of the upcoming football season, his goals are to play all ten regular season games, make 110 tackles, and six interceptions.

Lee’s Scouting Report: “West Monroe hasn’t had many DI wide receivers over the last ten years, but Jerry Day is one of them. It is kind of crazy because people don’t see West Monroe as a DI wide receiver school. Well, don’t look at it that way, but look at if the player can play at the DI level and he sure can. He times well for a big guy and is also physical as well as compact. He reminds me of John Diarse (Neville/LSU/TCU). If he was at a school like Calvary Baptist, which throws the ball more, he would probably catch over 100 passes. However, West Monroe does throw the football more than they used to and Day makes the most of his opportunities because he does have good hands. He is a very underrated player.”

Bio: In 2018, Jerry Day made the most of his opportunities in the passing game with only 16 catches, but he also had over 300 yards and two touchdowns to go along with it. His top schools are Jackson State, Arkansas Monticello, Grambling, Southern, and Rockford University. These are some of the schools that have been in contact with Day, but there is one school that Day has always been dreaming to play at.

“I am leaning towards Grambling and Southern University, but Ole Miss is the future school that I always wanted to go to and have an opportunity to play,” Day said. “What I am looking for from a college is how much they care about my grades, and how they would prepare me to become more than just a football player.”

Day is an encouraging and outgoing person that always loves to stay active whether it is playing football or working out. As far as this season is concerned, Day has one goal and that is to prove to his doubters that he can become a great wide receiver.

 

Tristan Sweeney

Haughton High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Tristan Sweeney just puts up the numbers. Haughton does throw the football a lot to not only him, but his teammate CJ McWilliams, and they will throw it a lot to both once again this season. The coaches are kind of picky with him because of his speed, but I think any receiver that shows he has great hands needs a shot at either the DI or I-AA level. At 5-11, 215 pounds, he is compact. He would be a steal for Northwestern State. I think he is ULM good, but you can’t get caught up with his 4.6/40 hand time because he is a lot faster on the field.”

Bio: Last season, Tristan Sweeney had 1,281 yards and 12 touchdowns as a wide receiver. As of right now, he is uncommitted when it comes to colleges. When not playing football, Sweeney can be seen working on his game and continuing to get better in the off season. His goals for the upcoming season are to get some collegiate offers in order to have a chance of playing at the next level.

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Drake Dye is a big receiver in a running offense. Again, Many is another team that doesn’t throw the football a lot, but they don’t have to because they like to ground and pound with two of the best running backs in the state this year along with a big offensive line as well as backed up by a good defense. This guy is a hidden gem because of that. When they do throw it, he is their go to guy. He has good hands and is more of a glider than a burner when he runs after the catch. This kid does time well with 4.49/40 speed, but he does need to watch his weight because he could move over to tight end one day.

Bio: In 2018, Drake Dye had 218 receiving yards and four touchdowns. As of right now, Dye does not have any top schools, but he does have one dream school that he has always dreamed of attending and playing football.

“I would love to go to LSU because it’s just always been my favorite college team,” Dye said. “The campus is great and I have a lot of friends that go there and they said that it’s a lot of fun.”

When Dye is not playing football, he usually can be seen practicing for next year or hunting. His goals for the season are to win the state championship and would love to get some offers.

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Kenneth Ravare just puts stats up. Kenneth has a chance to catch 120 passes if he equals last year’s stats. That is a lot and he has a chance to have 40 touchdowns total if he has another good year on the TD side of things. If he continues to shine, he may be the all time leading receiver at the school. He is a guy that is not a burner, but he does his job and catches everything in sight. I think he is a D-II guy, but I also believe he will be a steal at that level.”

Bio: In 2018, Kenneth Ravare had 46 catches for 1,015 yards and nine touchdowns. His top schools are South Alabama, Nicholls State, Northwestern State, and Memphis. Right now, there is one school that he is leaning on.

“The school I am leaning on the most is South Alabama,” Ravare said. “I like this school the most because I feel more at home there and I love their program.”

When not playing football, Ravare loves mud riding and hanging out with friends and family. Not only does Ravare play for the Indians, but an interesting fact about him is that his family is of Indian descent. His goals for the upcoming season are to be ranked in the top five in the state at his position with 1,500 yards and ten plus touchdowns, to improve as a player while also helping everyone else around him improve, and to break the school curse of being stuck in the second round of the playoffs. 

 

Kevin Pouncy

Airline High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Kevin Pouncy has got everything. He just needs to stay healthy. Last year, the offense just did not get everybody the ball as much because the team had a lot of injuries and were doing so by playing two quarterbacks. If Airline can be consistent throwing the football, they can be scary because they have the receivers to do so and Kevin is their guy. I have seen this kid practice in full pads and if he can play in games like he does in practice, then he is potentially a DI player. I would just love for him to put it all together this year.”

Bio: “In 2018, Kevin Pouncy had 30 catches for 400 yards and five touchdowns. His top schools are Louisiana Tech, ULL, Northwestern State, and Baylor. Right now, there is a leader among the bunch for the senior Airline wide receiver.

“I am leaning on Louisiana Tech because I have always been a Bulldog fan,” Pouncy said. “I’ve also grown around the great atmosphere at Louisiana Tech.”

During the offseason, Pouncy is also working and grinding hard in order to have a chance to make it at the next level. His goals for the upcoming season are to win the state championship while at the same time, strive to be better as a player. 

 

Troy Hall

Pineville High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Troy Hall is probably the best big receiver in the Alexandria area. Troy is a hidden gem because he plays in a balanced offense. He is not going to get the attention of somebody who may play in a spread offense. However, he has great size and a great vertical. I think that he is still trying to learn the game and in college, has a chance to be phenomenal. Troy needs to have a big senior season to get the DI attention. Right now, he would be more ready for the I-AA or D-II level.”

Bio: In 2018, Troy Hall had 27 catches for 490 yards and three touchdowns. Hall also had 14 kickoff returns for 296 yards including a long of 65 yards against Alexandria Senior High School. Over the past two seasons, Hall has earned All-District honors and was recently named a Blue-Grey All-American Bowl selection in AT&T Stadium on December 16th, 2019. So far, Hall has received some interests from several D-II and D-III schools. However, his dream is playing at a DI program. Hall is not really leaning towards any school, but he knows what he is looking for when choosing a college.

“I would like to play for a program that would be a good fit for my skill set,” Hall said. “Also, I’m considering to study dentistry so the academics are very important.”

When not playing football, he usually likes playing basketball, working out, or doing things with his family. His goals for this season are to help his team compete for a district championship, lead his team back to the playoffs, lead the district in receiving, return yards, and earn a DI scholarship along the way.

 

Malik Antwine

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Physically, Malik Antwine has all the tools. He hand times well at a 4.45/40, but I think he needs to work on his speed during games. I like to see him separate a little more from defenders and use his speed a little more. However, he is a fantastic athlete. I don’t know where you put him because at Benton, he is more of a receiver, but he could be a safety in college. I think he will slide down at the I-AA level, but he could be DI with a great senior season.”

Bio: As of right now, the exciting All-District playmaker has received a couple of offers so far from Louisiana College and Northeastern State University. Recently, Malik Antwine just had a visit to Southern University.

 

Peyton Lewis

6-2, 195

Parkway High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Peyton Lewis is the best looking wide receiver in the Shreveport-Bossier City area that nobody is talking about. He is all of 6-2, 195 pounds and is a late bloomer that will probably add on a couple of pounds once he gets to college. In fact, he is built similar to Terrace Marshall Jr. (Parkway/LSU), but Terrace had a four year career at the school. This kid could have a phenomenal senior season and might put the heat on a lot of schools to offer him including LSU. If he has a great senior season, then, a lot of people will go after him.”

Bio: As of right now, the 2nd Team All-District selection does not know what his top schools are, but what he does know is what he is looking for when choosing a college in the end.

“Some things I would look for in picking a school is a good coaching program along with a coaching staff that I feel like I would get along with,” Lewis said.

When not playing football, Peyton Lewis is playing baseball. An interesting fact about Lewis is that he likes to serve God by helping the homeless and nursing homes. His goals for his senior season are to make 1st Team All-District, 1st Team All-City, 1st Team All-State, and also receive his first football offer.

Lee’s Scouting Report: “If Jaylen McDonald played for Evangel Christian Academy, he would be a receiver, but for Red River, he is a tight end because they don’t have a lot of big guys. What is impressive about him at 6-3, 200 pounds is that he is also a 4.55/40 speed guy. He is also going to gain 20 pounds so here is a guy that will be 6-3, 220 pounds running a 4.6/40. That will make a heck of a tight end or even a buck linebacker. I think he is a big time player, but these college coaches already want you maxed out in weight. Dan Mullen has made a living off of this when he was the head coach at Mississippi State. He always took these guys that were 15-20 pounds too light and made them superstars. Jaylen is that type of guy. If he went to a low DI college, he would be a superstar.”

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Eric Whelan looks the part physically at 6-5, 232 pounds. Even though I have him listed as a tight end, he is actually playing quarterback/defensive end for the team. Not many guys are 6-5, 235 pounds and run a 4.6/40. He is a guy that will be up to 250-255 pounds in college. If he continues to keep better and keep his speed at the same time, he could be a NFL tight end one day.”

Bio:  The diamond in the rough from Bolton High School has three top schools in ULM, ULL, Nicholls State, and Northwestern State, especially the Warhawks of Monroe.

“I really like ULM,” Whelan said. “I have always been a fan of ULM football. Their undergrad programs fit my career interests. The campus atmosphere is very appealing.”

After football season, it is on to baseball as Whelan plays catcher for the team. An interesting fact about the two sport athlete is that he also plays the trumpet. His goals for the upcoming season are to reach the Class 4A state playoffs and helping his teammates succeed.

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Colby Turner is another late bloomer that is originally from Scotlandville High School in Baton Rouge. Colby will probably have that one great year and everybody will look and ask where was he back in 2018 and before that. Well, he transferred. He is a 6-4, 230 pound guy that can really run. You can’t coach those things. Colby could also move to defensive end if he wanted to because I believe that he could get to 250 pounds in college. He is a can’t miss guy at either tight end or defensive end.”

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Kerry Davis is just a guy that really looks the part. I think people recruit and look at a two to three guys at Evangel Christian Academy, but at the same time, overlook a couple of other guys and Kerry is one of them. He has been starting for three years and this is his year to dominate. He has always shown flashes over the last couple of seasons, but he just needs to show the way he looks. If he has a great senior year, he will get offered by everybody.”

Bio: The Southwood Cowboys will get a huge addition to the offensive line as the longtime Evangel Christian Academy starter has announced that he has transferred to Southwood High School for his senior season.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Graceon Jackson-Smith

Wossman High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Man, Graceon Jackson-Smith is another good looking player, but might have to go the junior college route. If he goes junior college, I think he would be one of the top 100 junior college players in the country. If he stays and sticks with it two years at the JUCO level, I think he would be one of the top offensive tackles in the entire country. He is 6-4, 275 pounds and can move for his size. If he was qualified right now, LSU would be all over him.”

Bio: Graceon Jackson-Smith showed some flashes of dominance in 2018 with 33 pancake blocks in 2018. His top schools are TCU, Colorado, and Grambling.

“I am not looking at a particular school yet, but I am looking for a school with a great computer science or astronomy course,” Jackson-Smith said.

When Smith is not playing football, he can be seen boxing. The big offensive tackle from Wossman High School boxes because it helps make him a better football player as it keeps himself in shape, but at the same time, it improves his footwork and balance. He would like to give a big punch in 2019 by trying not to give up a sack, protecting the quarterback’s blindside, and also, earning collegiate scholarships along the way.

 

 

Adonnis Sanders

Huntington High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Adonnis Sanders has really quick feet for his size. Again, he is an unknown and unranked. For years, Huntington High School has been known for producing some sleeper linemen going back to the days of Kenny Davidson (LSU/Pittsburgh Steelers/Houston Oilers/Cincinnati Bengals) as well as some big linemen. I don’t know why recruiters don’t go to Huntington games because they always have big guys. Last year, they had two big nose guards that went under the radar. This year, it’s Adonnis, but once again, if he has a great senior year, somebody will get him. I think Northwestern State, ULM, and Grambling need to take a look at this guy before the big guys come in.”

Bio: As of right now, Adonnis Sanders has no top schools at the moment as he wants to focus on his senior year. Sanders has received two offers from Arkansas Monticello and Louisiana College.

“I really want to play for a school that really wants to develop me and shows interest in my abilities,” Sanders said. “I also want to be a part of a winning culture, but the most important thing that I look for is the academics.”

For Sanders, football is a 24/7 job, but when he does take a break, he usually plays basketball with his friends. His goals for the season are to lead the team to the playoffs and to get more collegiate offers so he and his mother would not have to pay money in order for him to go to college.

Cory Marshall

6-3, 320

Northwood Shreveport High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Cory Marshall is really underrated and plays on the defensive line too. In fact, he has some great defensive line stats. He has great feet and that’s why I think he could become a great offensive guard in college. He could also move to center if needed, but at 6-3, 320 pounds, I don’t know why he has even more offers than he does right now.”

Bio: The two way Northwood Shreveport High School starter is talented enough to get 41 tackles and four sacks as a defensive tackle in 2018. Back in March, Cory Marshall committed to play for the ULL Ragin’ Cajuns.

“I committed to ULL because it is a small town like I am used to and the coaches are top notch,” Marshall said.

When not playing football, Marshall likes to go fishing and mud riding with his teammates. His biggest goal for the season is to continue to build on the team’s breakout season a year ago and win the state championship.

 

 

 

 

 

Ja’Darrius Winans

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Ja’Darrius Winans has the look to be a great offensive guard at the next level and he has also made All-City for two years in a row. This will be his third year as a starter. Like Kerry Davis, if he shows his dominance, then he could get a lot of offers, and I think that is what the colleges are waiting for, which is to see him dominate the competition.”

Bio: Ja’Darrius Winans made 2nd Team All-District and All-Parish in 2018. His top schools are Louisiana College, ULL, and ULM. Winans really likes those specific three schools because of both their academic and football programs. In the offseason, Winans trains in order to get in shape for the following football season. He also likes to play basketball during his off time. His biggest goal for the season is to get better and do whatever it takes to play at the next level. In the end, Winans wants to go above and beyond, but at the same time, stay humble while doing so.

 

 

 

 

Ty’Rien Taylor

North DeSoto High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Ty’Rien Taylor is almost as good as his senior counterpart Johnny Mitchell. The only difference is that Johnny is probably a little quicker, but I think Ty’Rien is actually stronger. When a guy is 6-4, 295 pounds and super strong, he could go anywhere in the country at the I-AA level. The question is if Ty’Rien can continue to get better with his feet in order to go DI somewhere. I think he can. He along with Johnny make up the best offensive line duo that the team has ever had. Those two guys are physically built for college.”

Bio: Ty’Rien Taylor’s top schools are East Texas Baptist University and Nicholls State.

“When looking for a school, I look for a good environment and good opportunities,” Taylor said.

During the offseason, Taylor likes riding horses, trail riding, and mud riding. His goals for the upcoming season are to get faster, stronger, and be recognized by a college who sees his potential. 

 

 

 

 

DeWorange Brown

Neville High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “DeWorange Brown is continuing to get better each and every year. He has a chance to have a great senior season and gain the attention of a lot of big time schools along the way.”

Bio: As of right now, DeWorange Brown has received two offers from Northeastern University in Oklahoma and Louisiana College. Still, he is open to even more schools that are looking to give him a chance.

“I want a school that will push me academically as well as athletically,” Brown said. “I’m looking for a great coaching staff with people that are helping me become the best that I can be.”

When Brown is not playing football, he enjoys hanging out with friends and listening to music. He also throws the shot put on the school’s track and field team. At a place like Neville High School, there are a lot of high expectations and with high expectations comes big goals, and Brown is looking to lead the Neville Tigers to another state championship at the conclusion of the season. 

 

 

Jacob Broussard

Pineville High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Jacob Broussard is another player that starts both ways for his team. Jacob is not big, but he is tough, smart, and quick. If he gains 20 pounds, I think he could potentially become a I-AA player.”

Bio: As of right now, Jacob Broussard has received no offers, but he would love to play football for either Louisiana Tech or Stephen F. Austin.

“The big deal for me is I want to go into agriculture and not many schools offer good programs while offering me a chance to play college football,” Broussard said.

When Broussard is not playing football, he can be seen in the outdoors whether it is fishing or hunting. He is also involved in his church youth group and even plays guitar for the youth praise band. For a hobby, Broussard likes to work on old cars and help his dad with his tree nursery. His goals for his senior season are to come together as a team and lay the foundation for the future.

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Cole Pennock is not only mean, but he is a good technician with good feet. Coach Ryan Gregory is a former offensive lineman for the school.It is not an accident that Oak Grove has a lot of offensive linemen with college potential especially when your coach is a former lineman. This guy is under the radar, and if I was Northwestern State, Nicholls State, McNeese State, or Southeastern, I would be all over him.”

Bio: Last season, Cole Pennock was named 1st Team All-District, 1st Team All-NELA, and 1st Team All-State. His top schools are Louisiana College, Louisiana Tech, Hendrix College, and Ouachita Baptist University. Right now, there are two schools that Penneck is leaning towards attending.

“The two colleges that I am leaning towards because they both offer my intended major of Pre-Vet are Hendrix College and Ouachita Baptist,” Pennock said. “Ouachita Baptist sticks out because it is a Christian school and that is a big plus in my book. Hopefully, I may have a chance to play football at either school while I am there.”

When not playing football in the offseason, the Oak Grove lineman likes woodworking, doing machine work, fishing, and hunting. He also tries to keep a steady job during the summer no matter what it may be. An interesting fact about Pennock is that he likes pancakes and loves Jesus. His biggest goal for the season is simple and that is go back to the Dome, but this time, win the state championship. 

 

Dezrel Eloph

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Dezrel Eloph’s brother Kameron Eloph went to Houston and also played at Parkway High School. Kameron was probably a little quicker in hitting his upside as he first started as a sophomore while Dezrel just started last year. He is not tall like his brother, but he does have great feel. They are almost carbon copies of each other. It is just a matter of what college would take a guy that is 6-1, 280 pounds with good feet. Dezrel could play either center or guard. Outside of LSU, I think he would be a great get for all of the Louisiana schools.”

 

Ray Kelly

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Ray Kelly is one of the toughest offensive linemen in the state. Ray is strong as an ox and he is one of the reasons why I am a huge fan of Ruston this year. This team is just a collection of not so much SEC talented guys, but a lot of tough guys and Ray is one of those. If he goes to a Grambling or an ULM, he would probably start in a year or two even if he walked on. If Ray just enrolls at a college, he would probably win a starting job based off being tough and strong.”

Bio: “In Ray Kelly’s high school career, he has received All-District Honorable Mention honors his sophomore sophomore season, and second team All-District honors his junior season. His top schools are LSU, Louisiana Tech, and ULM.

“LSU is my top school because of the football program and my interest in studying business management,” Kelly said.

In the offseason, Kelly likes working out and staying fit so he can push himself to do more for his team this season. His goals for the season are leading the team to a state championship and making 1st Team All-District while still pushing himself and his teammates to be the best they can be.

They are the running capital of North Louisiana and if you are recruiting an offensive lineman from that school, you would be getting a guy that is used to pulling and run blocking. Lee’s Scouting Report: “Lewis Moore is not big, but he makes up for it with his quickness for this Lakeside team. Lewis might be 6-0, 235 pounds, but he could still become a pretty good I-AA center in college especially once he adds weight to be around 250. When you look at centers, you look at how quick they move off the snap and how much penetration do they give the nose guard once the ball is snapped. Well, Lewis might be the quickest center in the state off the ball and once he adds weight, he will become a good one in time.”

Bio: Despite being a little undersized in comparison to a lot of other players on this list, Lewis Moore showed that being quick and having great technique is just as effective as strength and power by not allowing a sack last season. His top schools are Anderson University and Defiance University.

“Some things that I look for in a college would be a solid academic program, a nice campus, and good sports history,” Moore said.

In the offseason, Moore still does not take football off as he watches the game and lifts weights as much as he can. His goals for the season are to continue opening holes for the running game while leading the team to a district championship as well as a deep run in the playoffs.

 

Shawn McDonald

West Monroe High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Shawn McDonald is just another talented offensive lineman on this year’s West Monroe squad. Just like his teammates Blake Everett and Ethan Boyer, I can see him as a center at the next level. With a great year, I think he could draw the attention of some DI schools with his 6-3, 260 pound frame and 5.3/40 speed.”

Bio: As of now, Shawn McDonald has received no offers, but his top schools are ULM and Louisiana Tech. When not playing football, McDonald likes hanging out with friends, driving around listening to music, or playing Madden on PlayStation. Some of his biggest goals for the upcoming season are to win a state championship first and foremost, but also to make All-District and All-Northeast.

Lee’s Scouting Report: “I think Carter Ellison will be a legit center at the next level whether it would be for the I-AA or D-II level. Carter is a tough kid that has great feet.”

Bio: Bastrop High School’s four year starting center Carter Ellison was named 1st Team All-District for two years in a row. As of right now, his top schools are Ole Miss, LSU, Texas, and Arkansas.

“I’m not leaning towards a particular school as of right now, but some things I’m looking for when picking a school is a good Criminal Justice program, a good overall school rating, and also a good football program,” Ellison said.

When not playing football, Ellison likes spending time with friends, family, and teammates. He also likes being outside and staying active. His goals for the upcoming season are getting 1st Team All-District and then potentially getting 1st Team All-State, but most importantly, help leading the team to a state championship.

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Parker Lee actually started his career at Calvary Baptist where he started as a freshman. I actually saw him play then against Teurlings Catholic. Parker is a gifted kid, but he got hurt and had to sit out his sophomore year while he was also hurt his junior year. He is kind of an unknown because there is not a lot of film on him because of all those injuries, but if he can stay healthy through his senior year, he could be somebody to watch. I actually think he is SEC good if he goes through a whole season injury free. Not really playing the last two years does hurt him, but it is where you go in the end that matters. There are not may kids that are 6-4 and have the leg he has.”

Bio: Parker Lee moved to Pineville High School from Calvary Baptist Academy his sophomore year.  Lee had a great sophomore year with 14 solo tackles, 14 tackle assists, and two sacks as a defensive end. Then, he had an injury in the spring of his sophomore year that ended his junior year season. 

“I have played football since I was in kindergarten and love the game,” Lee said. “I hope to have the opportunity to play in college and I am open to any college offers. Right now I am excited about leading the Pineville Rebels and having a great senior season.”

When Lee is not playing football, he like scuba diving, working out, and hanging out with his friends and family.

Lee’s Scouting Report: “D’Angelo McCoy has a chance to be an one year sensation. He has what it takes to be a big time DI player. If he has a good senior year, he has a chance to attract a lot of DI schools. If LSU did not take so many defensive linemen, he would have been a great addition for them late. That means somebody else will get a huge steal. He could end up being a great player at a Louisiana Tech and maybe move to defensive tackle at 280 pounds.”

 

Trey White

Evangel Christian Academy

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Trey White is a tough kid that has been well coached by former LSU defensive lineman Byron Dawson, who is currently the head coach at Evangel Christian Academy. Trey is a guy that I think can dominate at the I-AA level. He will probably play at around 6-0, 275 pounds next year in college. If he goes DI, he would probably have to switch to nose, but if he goes I-AA, he should play at defensive end. He is very strong, tough, and is the heart and soul of the defensive line.”

Bio: Trey White looks to continue the strong tradition at Evangel Christian Academy in terms of producing defensive linemen at the next level. White has received offers Alcorn State University, Northeastern State University, and Arkansas Tech.

“Right now, I’m not really leaning towards a school, but some things I’m looking for in a school is the environment, the educational programs, how I can make an impact, and will this school improve me as a student athlete,” White said.

When not training in football, White spends his time either participating in track and field events or wrestling for his school. An interesting fact about White is that he is also a teacher assistant for the school’s autism program. His goals for the upcoming season are to get the school’s 15th state championship and to strive for perfection on all playing fields. 

 

Jason Haulsey

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Jason Haulsey is 6-1, 245 pounds of power, toughness, and speed. With a good year, I think he can be DI. He has the body and frame to be that type of player.”

Bio: As of right now, Jason Haulsey has two top schools in mind, and they are TCU and Louisiana Tech, but so far he is not leaning towards any school.

”When picking a school, I would love to know if there is an engineering or welding program,” Haulsey said.

When not playing football, Haulsey likes hanging around friends and playing on his X Box. His goals for the upcoming season are to try his best on every snap and help his teammates win the state championship. Most of all, he just wants his family and friends to be proud of him.

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Cornell Brown is a good looking player that passes the eye test and looks like a DI defensive end now. He just needs to get a little stronger, a little heavier, and most importantly, show what he has his senior year. Right now, he is 6-2, 225 pounds, but he could bulk up to about 250 pounds in college. Cornell is a hidden gem that is very lean and moves well for his size.”

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Khaylon Chapple is super long and has high effort, but is not extremely quick in the 40 as he can run around a 4.9/40 to a 5.0/40. However, he is a guy that would make up being a really good I-AA type guy. He could also D-II as well. Khaylon needs to fill out a little more, but if I am a I-AA coach, I would try to convince him to try to walk-on or even give him a late offer so I could develop him. Already, he is tough and plays with high effort. If he can bulk up to 260 pounds, he could become a big time player.”

Bio: As of right now, Khaylon Chapple has not only received I-AA attention, but he has already committed to an in-state I-AA school.

“I’m committed to McNeese State University,” Chapple said.

During the offseason, Chapple likes working on his craft and continuing to get better for the upcoming season. His goals for the upcoming season are to have one last full ride with his teammates and making it all the way to the Super Dome while doing so.

The only thing he needs to do is to continue to learn the game and keep improving himself as a player. I am interested to see what he does his senior year. He is already 6-2, 245 pounds, but man, he is lean and long. He can either go inside or outside on the defensive line. Zion would be a heck of a pickup for a small college.”

 

Roosevelt Davis

Lee’s Scouting Report: “If Roosevelt Davis does not miss last year with an injury, we may be talking about him in our Tiger Rag Dirty Dozen with the likes of Jacobian Guillory (Alexandria), Jaquelin Roy (U-High), etc. We probably would have talked about him as one of the top 15 players in the state. However, with him missing last season because of injury, he is not rated as high. At 6-6, 285 pounds with good speed for his size, he has a chance to become a great player. I don’t know if he will play offensive line or defensive line in college, but I guess we will see what he does coming off the injury.”

Bio: Although Roosevelt Davis missed a season because of injury, his skill set was still able to attract many collegiate programs including Southern Miss, South Alabama, and McNeese State. Right now, there is a school that has caught Davis’ eye the most.

“I like Southern Miss because they really make me feel like I am at home,” Davis said.

During the offseason, Davis likes lifting weights and getting his body ready for the season. His goals for the season are trying to dominate the competition while making every snap count.

 

Terrion Morgan

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Bastrop has a heck of a defensive line this year and Terrion Morgan is one of those talented guys on that defensive front. At 6-2, 225 pounds, Terrion can really run. He along with his teammate Denterrius McHenry make up one of the best defensive end duos in North Louisiana. There are also two other guys that can be just as good. So, recruiters should definitely come look at a school, which has four 6-2, 230 pound pass rushers all at once. They can all run and are all great players so it makes sense why Terrion may get lost in the mix sometimes. If I am a D-II school, I would try to sign all four of those guys.”

Bio: Terrion Morgan’s favorite schools are LSU, Mississippi State, and Texas. During the offseason, Morgan just focuses on his training and preparation for the upcoming football season. His goals for the season are to win a state championship and be the best defensive lineman in the state.

Bert Hale

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Bert Hale was actually a transfer from Delhi Charter High School. You can tell that he has really improved as a big time player overtime. I think the only thing that he needs to do is just shed some weight in order to become a DI defensive tackle or he can keep the weight and move in to nose guard. There are not a lot of true nose guards and he is one of them. I also like to see his endurance go up as well. Bert really only played one season and that was last season. I know his teammate Kenean Caldwell (Kansas commit) is the one getting all the attention, but with a good year, Bert can be just as good as Kenean.”

Bio: Like his star teammate Kenean Caldwell, who recently committed to play at Kansas, Oak Grove High School senior DT Bert Hale has also decided to commit to a DI school. After holding offers from Lamar, Nicholls State, Northwestern State, ULM, Louisiana Tech, Southern Miss, and Troy, Hale chose to commit in-state with the Bulldogs of Ruston on June 28th.

 

 

Demicko Gray

Logansport High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Demicko Gray is a beast. This guy is mean and tough. I would like to see him change his body just a little bit, but not too much because I think that he is also your prototypical nose guard. For Logansport, he plays both ways and that impresses me. For a big guy, his effort and moves are off the charts.”

Bio: In 2018, Demicko Gray had a second team All-District season with 58 tackles, 6.4 tackles for loss, and two sacks. His top schools are Louisiana College and East Texas Baptist University. All Gray looks for in a college is a place that will give him the opportunity to compete for playing time. When not playing football, Gray likes listening to music and working out. Something that Gray wants to let people know of himself is that he likes to push his teammates a lot when lifting weights. This upcoming season, Gray wants to go out there every game and play like it’s his last and help take his team to the Dome.

 

 

 

 

Ervin Bottley

Tensas High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “I don’t think I have ever seen a defensive lineman coming from Tensas that looks like Ervin Bottley. Ervin is quick enough to play all the techniques along the defensive line. I think he is a DI lineman. The college recruiters have to go back to a school that they normally do not go to. I have seen him play in a full game and he can really move. If he transferred to Neville tomorrow, I think he would be a national recruit. That’s how crazy the business is now a days, but here is a hidden gem that really needs to get looked at so here you go, recruiters.”

Bio: The two way Tensas starter made 2nd Team All-District in 2018. As of right now, Ervin Bottley has not received any offers. When not playing football, Bottley enjoys his free time by playing basketball in the off season. His goals for the upcoming season are to give everything 100% and to make 1st Team All-District.

 

 

 

Jamarcus Jackson

Booker T. Washington High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “I am very impressed with this kid from Booker T. Washington High School. He is a true nose guard and I think he is a DI defensive tackle. Jamarcus Jackson moves extremely well for a guy that is over 330 pounds. He is born to play that position and I truly believe that he can play in the SEC. I think he would be a huge steal if Louisiana Tech came and took a chance on him. I watch him and think that he is very intriguing because not only is he quick, but he is also another high effort guy.”

Bio: Even though Jamarcus Jackson does not come from a powerhouse high school program, his dominance on the field last season still caught the eye of many college coaches after posting 41 tackles, six sacks, and 11 tackles for loss. Right now, his top schools are Grambling, Louisiana Tech, and LSU.

“The top thing is finding a school with a good group of people that is not ashamed of being themselves, which means I like a school with confidence,” Jackson said. “I like a school with a good football program and a good engineering as well as a technology program.”

When not playing football, Jackson likes to stay in shape, but also he likes to hang out with his friends whether it would be bowling, playing at the arcade, or maybe just chilling at home and playing video games. His goals for this upcoming season are to continue to reach his personal goals while pushing himself to be the best that he can be.

 

Ja’Raylon Burks

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Ja’Raylon Burks is strong and quick. He is not tall, but wow, if he was 6-1, everybody in the country would want him. He is a beast and I really don’t know if there is a stronger nose guard with quicker feet than him. If I am a I-AA coach, I would try to spend a night at the school to convince him to play on my defense because he is also a high effort kid.”

Bio: Last season, Ja’Raylon Burks had 76 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and 15 quarterback hurries. His top schools are Northwestern State and Louisiana Tech.

“I’m leaning towards Louisiana Tech because I am interested in furthering my football career as well as my education to become more successful,” Burks said.

During his free time, Burks loves working out and practicing different techniques that are beneficial to him in order to help him improve as a player. His goals for the upcoming season are to show great leadership towards his teammates and to encourage his teammates as well as himself to become better players. 

 

 

Clifton Mosley

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Clifton Mosley is very intriguing. He came in as a freshman at 6-2, 240 and looked the part then. He has had some injuries, but he really had a good season last year. I think the colleges want to see him dominate and take over games his senior year. If he does, then we will be talking about Clifton with some of the top defensive tackles in the state. Clifton also has the feet and the ability to be a defensive end if he has to.”

Bio: So far, Clifton Mosley has received only one offer from ULM, but his two favorite schools are Ole Miss and Texas. He could see himself playing for one of those programs. When not playing football, Mosley likes playing games and hanging out with his friends. His biggest goal for his senior season is to lead the Calvary Baptist Academy Cavaliers to a state championship.

He played a lot last year and I actually got the chance to see him play against C.E. Byrd High School. He was rotating in and out last season, but he does look the part at about 6-1, 260 pounds to go along with good feet. I think he is good enough to play at an ULM or an Oklahoma State. Quentin does need a good senior year and needs to stay healthy, but if he does drop to I-AA, he would be a huge steal.”

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Caldwell Parish High School does not get a lot of respect even when they have a couple of good players. I got the chance to see them on film and let me tell you Reggie Calloway is a man among boys. He could play up to two to three techniques and moves well for somebody that is 290 pounds. Lee’s Scouting Report: “Aaron David is another defensive lineman from Caldwell Parish High School. He is just a strong nose guard type who is tough. I think he is a I-AA type player and if he does walk-on somewhere, I will not find it surprising if he does find a starting job.”

Bio: Aaron David’s top schools are Northeastern State University, Incarnate Word, and Arkansas State. So far, his favorite school is Northeastern State University.

“It’s a great university and it gives me a chance to go do what I do with an amazing coaching staff,” David said. “I look for a place that will help me succeed to be the best player that I can be. I also look for a coaching staff that really cares about helping me.”

In the offseason, David switches his helmet for his baseball bat. He has also became a pretty good baseball player in his own right after recently receiving 2nd Team All-District honors at first base. David also likes to get out on the river and go tubing. His goals for the upcoming season are to get 1st Team All-State and bring home a state championship to Caldwell Parish for the first time in school history.

 

 

Jake Ducharme

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Jake Ducharme is on this list because he is a tough and dedicated leader for Tioga. If you look at his stats, the numbers really speak for themselves as he is a very active guy around the football. I think he is a D-II, D-III guy, but for a school like Louisiana College, I think he could develop into a team captain type of guy in a year or two.”

Bio: At the moment, Jake Ducharme has no offers, but the schools that he wants to go play for are Louisiana Tech and Arkansas Monticello. When not playing football, Ducharme can either be seen powerlifitng, working out, or playing video games.

Ardarius James

Haynesville High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Ardarius James is very athletic. A lot of these Haynesville kids that play linebacker or defensive end are multi-purpose guys. They have these hybrid guys because they have to go and play wherever the team needs them to play. They are also unselfish kids like Ardarius. He has to play on the defensive line for Haynesville, but if he was at a bigger school like West Monroe, he would probably play at linebacker. With a 6-0, 220 pound frame and pretty good speed, it is a no brainier for me that he is a DI linebacker. I think he is strong, fast, and quick, but college recruiters would want to see him play at linebacker first. Somebody will get lucky and land a prize with him.”

Bio: Speaking of being unselfish, Ardarius James has switched his jersey from 44 to 62 because he has moved from playing tight end on offense to playing offensive guard. Last season, James had 44 total tackles, 18 solo tackles, 3.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. His top schools are LSU, Louisiana Tech, and ULM. Like his teammate LSU commit CamRon Jackson, LSU has attracted the attention of James.

“I would love to play football there, but I don’t have an offer from them yet,” James said. “I’m going to get my degree in kinesiology and they have a good program for that.”

During the offseason, James stays active by playing both baseball and basketball. An interesting fact about the two way starter is that he is also a talented singer. His goals for the upcoming season are to be a leader for his team on and off the field, get 1st Team All-District, All-Area, and All-State honors while leading the team back to the Superdome.

 

Kris Stewart

Peabody High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Kris Stewart has got the total package. He has got the size, athleticism, and speed. The only thing that he needs to do is show his dominance his senior season.”

Bio: Kris Stewart’s goals for the season are to have over 120 tackles, make All-State, and make it as far as possible in the playoffs. His top schools are Nicholls State, Louisiana Tech, Grambling, and McNeese State. Right now, there is one school that comes to mind immediately for the up and coming prospect, who also plans on taking an interesting major.

“It would be Nicholls because they have the number one culinary arts program in the state of Louisiana,” Stewart said.

When Stewart is not playing football, he likes tries to get better as a player by going to camps while also making sure everyone around him is getting better everyday.

If he does not get that type of offer, I think he would be a great fit for a Northwestern State or a Grambling.”

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Montana King is the heart and soul of this West Ouachita defense. He has been a starter for four years. Montana is thick and tough. He doesn’t time great as he can’t run a 4.5, 4.6, or a 4.7/40, but if you watch the film, he really gets to the ball carrier in a hurry. If I am ULM, I would see if I can bring him in anyway I can.”

Bio: Montana King’s top schools are Louisiana Tech, TCU, and ULM. As of right now, King wants to go to ULM so he can stay close to home. During the offseason, King likes to hunt and workout a lot. His goals for the upcoming season are to give it his all and play every game like his last.

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Amiri Theus is raw, but he has the frame you look for in either an outside linebacker or a buck linebacker. He moves well and I know that Coach Jim Gatlin would agree with me. There is so much upside to him and in college, I think he will hit his full potential. It is going to be interesting to see how big he gets at the next level. I would like to see him dominate a little bit more his senior season.”

Bio: As of right now, Amiri Theus’ top schools are Texas Southern, Nicholls State, and Arkansas Monticello.

“I am looking for a school that has a good football program, a good academic program, and has a good environment,” Theus said.

An interesting fact about Theus that not a lot of people know about is that his hands shake uncontrollably. His goals this season are to get over 100 tackles and make the regional All-Star game.

 

 

Markell Peoples

Bastrop High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Markell Peoples is another guy for Bastrop that can play either defensive end or outside linebacker. This team has tons of them. He is a late bloomer that can run, but is still raw. Last season, Markell showed flashes, but I think he can explode with a huge year his senior season. Like the other defensive players on the team, he is sure a fun guy to watch.”

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bobby Britton

Minden High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Bobby Britton is very athletic. Minden has had some athletic linebackers come through over the last seven years including Zikerrion Baker, who is now with Ole Miss. This kid is as athletic as any linebacker in the entire Shreveport area. Bobby runs a 4.6/40, but he looks like he can run a 4.55/40 on the field. Not only is he athletic and fast, but he is also instinctive and tough.”

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rashad Singleton

Union Parish High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Rashad Singleton is another sleeper on this Union Parish team. The more you talk about their players, the more you think that this is going to be a special year for them. I think Rashad is a big time player because he is really underrated, and he is ten pounds away from becoming a DI outside linebacker.”

Bio: Last season, Rashad Singleton made All-District Honorable Mention. His top schools are East Texas Baptist University and Grambling. Most of all, Singleton wants the opportunity to play in his home state.

“I would love to play for LSU or ULL,” Singleton said. “I want to play football in Louisiana and stay kind of close to home, but I also like the Louisiana culture.”

When not playing football, he likes working out, and going to different places like pools and gyms. His goals for this season are making All-State, and All-District at linebacker.

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Matthew Woods is a tough player that was originally a defensive back and moved up to linebacker. Matthew is very fast and physical. If I am a small DI school and I need a linebacker that is going to be bigger, I am taking Matthew Woods.”

 

Isaiah Robinson

6-2, 195

Parkway High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “I put Isaiah Robinson at outside linebacker because I think that’s a position he will grow into. Right now, he is a defensive back, but to his credit, he could play five different positions. Isaiah could play wide receiver, cornerback, free safety, strong safety, or outside linebacker. I think he will be around 210 pounds and when you get that big, it would be tough to stay at corner. There is also a lot of money to be made if you are 6-2, 225 pounds and run a 4.5/40. That is the type of guy he could end up being.

Bio: In 2018, Isaiah Robinson received 1st Team All-Parish and 2nd Team All-District honors with two pass deflections and three interceptions. So far, Robinson has received two offers from Northwestern State and ULM. As of right now, he is undecided, but he does know what he is looking for when he does decide to choose a college in the end.

“I am looking for a college that can help me with sports medicine,” Robinson said.

In the offseason, Robinson likes lifting weights, running track, and playing basketball. His biggest goals for the season are to make the playoffs and be the number one free safety in my district. 

 

 

Ikem Tankchell

Neville High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “I think Ikem Tankchell could be a I-AA steal if not DI. I love his upside at 6-0, 220 pounds with 4.65/40 speed. Ikem and his teammate Javon Carter make up a pretty good linebacking duo for Neville High School this year.”

Bio: So far, Northeastern State University is the only school to show Ikem Tankchell any interest. The 1st Team All-District and All-Parish selection likes to do linebacker drills with his uncle, throw the football with his little brother, and watch Netflix. Two interesting facts about Tankchell are that he likes anime and he has an after school job at Starbucks. His goals for the upcoming season are to get 105 tackles, three interceptions, and force four fumbles.

Jalen Abraham

5-10, 190

Evangel Christian Academy

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Jalen Abraham missed most of last season after suffering a season ending injury in four games. However, if you looked at his stats in those four games, he was on his way to having a fantastic season. Jalen was actually one of the best players that I have seen in person when I saw him play against C.E. Byrd. He is an electrifying player, but the question is where do you play him because he can play both slot receiver and cornerback. In the end, I think he will go to a big school. Even though Jalen is not tall, he is special and he can fly.”

Bio: In only four games of action last season, Jalen Abraham took advantage of his playing time after missing the rest of the year due to injury. In only limited time, Abraham had four interceptions on defense, 264 yards rushing, and 203 yards receiving. As of right now, Abraham has no top schools. When not playing football, he enjoys playing basketball. The versatile Evangel Christian Academy playmaker does not really pay attention to personal goals, but what he does pay attention to is team goals. This season all he really wants is to put a state championship ring on his finger.

 

Pat Marshall

5-8, 165

Northwood Shreveport High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Pat Marshall does everything for Northwood. He is their main special teams returner, a starting wide receiver, and is also a key defensive back for them. Pat is a Swiss Army knife that can play different roles. He is on this list because he does everything well and he can run. Pat is not big, but if you are a I-AA school looking for a very good hands guy that can play all of these positions and can run to boot, he would be a big pickup if somebody did grab him.”

Bio: Last season, Pat Marshall made an impact pretty much everywhere with 219 rushing yards, 193 receiving yards, and eight touchdowns on offense while having 48 tackles, one interception, and ten passes defended. His top schools are Southern Nazarene, Texas Southern, Southern, and Northwestern State, especially Texas Southern.

“After the visit this past spring, I walked on campus and the coaching staff made me feel as if I were at home,” Marshall said. “Coach Jerwin Wilson has played a big impact on recruitment making me feel wanted by continuing to check on me. Also, their education program is perfect.”

When not playing football, Marshall likes going to the weight room and working out. His goal is to make All-State and help his team make it to the Super Dome.

 

CJ Woods

Lee’s Scouting Report: “CJ Woods has put on some good weight. Talking to Many Head Coach Jess Curtis over the summer, he has come along as their best corner. I would be shocked if he does not commit to a school like Northwestern State when it is all said and done. He is not only a good cover guy, but he is a tough tackler as well. I can see him as a guy that will end up being a three year starter in college.”

 

Kenneth Harris

6-1, 170

Caldwell Parish High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Kenneth Harris is another sleeper from Caldwell Parish High School. He is a legit I-AA player, but he could also become a DI guy. I think he will be a safety when he gets to college, but he plays corner for his team. I also think he could possibly play nickel. Again, he would be a great pickup by a ULM, Northwestern State, or a Grambling. Like his teammates that are on this list, this is a heck of a team that is flying under the radar right now.”

Bio: In fact, Kenneth Harris is actually committed to play at one of the schools that Lee has mentioned when talking about him. Right now, he is committed to play for ULM. Even though Harris has committed to play for the Warhawks, he is also looking at schools like Minnesota and Memphis. During the offseason, Harris likes to go on vacations. His goals for the upcoming season are to help his team post a winning record, win district, win state, and lead the state in tackles as well as interceptions for a defensive back.

 

 

 

 

Christian Thomas

Logansport High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Christian Thomas may be a little light in terms of weight at 160 pounds, but he is a great athlete. I watched him on film and I think he is as good as any playmaker in the Shreveport area.”

Bio: As of right now, Christian Thomas has no top schools currently. His goals this year are to win state most importantly and also get 50 catches for at least 1,000 or 900 yards.

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Ladarrian Washington is a sleeper cornerback that played for a school like Delhi High School that does not get the notoriety like other schools. He is long, tall, has great hips, and has 4.55/40 speed. Not to mention, he also plays wide receiver for his team.”

 

LaDarrius McFee

5-10, 150

Carroll High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “LaDarrius McFee is a great athlete that has the ability to play at the DI level. LaDarrius defends the run and the pass really well. He also has big time 4.55/40 speed, but last season, he had to miss the season due to injury. If he can stay healthy and show what he is capable of, he could get some DI offers by the end of the season.”

Bio: LaDarrius McFee is looking to have a strong season after coming off a season in which an ACL injury cut his junior year short, but his showed enough his sophomore season to potentially have a big time senior season. As a sophomore, he posted over four interceptions. His top schools are ULL, Grambling, and ULM, especially the Ragin’ Cajuns.

“I love ULL because it’s my favorite school and I love the people there as well as the tradition,” McFee said.

After coming off that injury, his goals for the upcoming season are to come back stronger than ever and lead the team in interceptions once again.

Pat Johnson

6-1, 190

St. Frederick High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Pat Johnson was a ball hawk last season with over nine interceptions. He is a heady guy. Pat may not hand time a 4.5/40, but he is a 4.65/40 guy. Most importantly, he is a football player and I think he would be a great fit for ULM as either a free safety or strong safety. I love players that have high football I.Q.’s and he is definitely one of those guys.”

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Ladarious O’Neal has been starting on Plain Dealing’s varsity football team since eighth grade. He is a good looking player that plays where the team needs him to play. Jaylon Turner

Peabody High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Jaylon Turner is a tough kid that can run. He plays linebacker for Peabody, but I believe that he will be a safety at the next level. Depending on who he signs with, he could also play outside linebacker for a team. If he goes to a D-II school, he would probably play at linebacker, but if he goes to a I-AA school, he could play linebacker or free safety. Finally, if he goes to a DI school, he could play free safety. Jaylon is an athletic hidden gem that can play multiple positions.”

Bio:  “Jaylon Turner has continued to improve each year as his first year starting, he made 2nd Team All-District honors and in his junior year, he stepped up his game even more with 54 tackles, 46 solo tackles, three tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles. Although Turner does not have any offers, his top school would be Grambling State University because he has family ties there, but of course, he would go to the school that shows the most interest in him as a player. During the offseason, Turner likes working out whether in the gym or on the field and also enjoys having fun with family and friends. After two back to back losing seasons, Turner’s goal is to regroup his team, make it to the playoffs and have a great senior year. 

 

 

 

Kaleb Brown

Alexandria High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Kaleb Brown is the most heady player at Alexandria High School. I know that Bud Clark is getting all the attention and Jacobian Guillory is a phenomenal nose guard. If there is an unsung hero on this team, it would be Kaleb Brown. He is a great in coverage and a sure tackler. Kaleb may not hand time like Bud, but he is what you call your old fashioned football player.”

Bio: In a very deep secondary, Kaleb Brown may be under looked in comparison to some of his teammates, but he has proved that he himself is a big time player as well with 56 tackles and five interceptions in 2018. His top schools are Southern, Central Arkansas, and Stetson. As of right now, Brown does not have a favorite school, but some things that he is looking for when picking a school are if they have his intended major and their graduation rate. When not playing football, Brown is always hanging out with friends either singing or playing other sports. His goals for this upcoming season are to win a state championship, obviously, but at the same time, wants to become a better teammate while continuing to improve on and off the field.

 

 

Bradley Williams

6-0, 190

West Monroe High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Bradley Williams had 65 tackles along with four interceptions last season. Considering all the talented players West Monroe had in their front seven in 2018 and somebody in the secondary still manage to have 65 tackles speaks to what kind of player Bradley is. He is tough and born to play strong safety. If you watch the state championship game, he ran a lot of players down and he is not even a corner. Even though he is a safety, he has also shown to have great coverage skills.”

Bio: Right now, Bradley Williams’ top school is Arkansas Monticello. What he likes most about the Weevils and what he looks for most when choosing a college in the end is not only the coaching staff, but the quality of the academics as well. During the offseason, he likes to hunt, fish, and even work on old cars. His goals for this upcoming season are to get more schools interested in him and end his high school career with a state championship victory.

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Christian Gray has great hang time. Some punters are different because some kick the ball where the ball travels faster or farther, but the DI schools are looking at the hang time and that is what Christian can do. He also plays wide receiver and defensive end for the team.”

 

Cameron Page

6-2, 180

Pineville High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Cameron Page is your prototypical punter at 6-2, 180 pounds because of his cannon leg. He is one of my top punters in the state and his teammate Parker Lee is also a pretty good kicker as well. Both of these guys are special and that’s why we had Pineville ranked highly in the special teams unit for the magazine. Cameron just needs a great year and fortunately, he will get his opportunity this year.”

Bio: As of right now, Cameron Page’s top schools are Louisiana Tech, Arkansas State, LSU, Ole Miss, and ULM. Page has especially been impressed with the Bulldogs.

“I did a campus tour at Louisiana Tech and I loved it,” Page said. “We did our walk through for our playoff game there and it was a great feeling to be on their field. The proximity to my hometown is another thing I love about it.”

During the offseason, Page continues to focus on football by building on his strength, short distance speed, and also watching film. Page also conditions by participating in track and field. He also spends time with his family and is active in his Church youth group. His goals for the upcoming season are to lead his team to a deep playoff run as well as be mentioned as one of the top punters not only in the state, but in the country.

Josh Raborn

6-0, 205

Northwood Shreveport High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Coach Jim Gatlin is very high on Josh Raborn. If there is a forte I don’t have in terms of scouting, it would be for deep snappers. I do listen to the coaches and this is the only position where I only use the coach’s input and what they told me is that Josh is one of the best so that is all I need to know.”

Bio: Josh Raborn has no top schools right now, but when looking at schools, he looks for a place that feels like home. When not playing football, he can be seen in the weight room. He also likes to race dirt bikes. His biggest goal for the upcoming season is to get 15 sacks on defense.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Garrett Folds

Ouachita Christian High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Garrett Folds is another highly regarded long snapper by Ouachita Christian Head Coach Steven Fitzhugh. The coaching staff trusts him along with the rest of the special teams unit.”

Bio: As of right now, Garrett Folds’ top schools are LSU, Louisiana Tech, and ULM. As a kid, Folds has always dreamed about one day playing for the Purple and Gold.

“I’ve grown up loving LSU,” Folds said. “There’s something special about Saturday nights in Death Valley.”

During the offseason, Folds likes bass fishing. After missing all of last season due to a torn ACL, Folds’ main goal is most importantly to lead the Eagles to a state championship victory.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Daniel Hawthorne

West Monroe High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “West Monroe has the luxury of having two guys that can long snap with Cayden Pierce being one and Daniel Hawthorne being the other. Daniel is also a powerful blocker as an offensive lineman with over 20 pancake blocks last season.”

Bio: Daniel Hawthorne’s top schools right now are Houston, Baylor, ULL, and ULM. Some things that he looks for in a school are a good biology program because he plans to go to medical/dental school and also a place that has a good campus life. When not playing football, he likes singing and playing the guitar. His goals for the upcoming season are to make All-State and have another year without giving up a sack.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Todd Stewart

Neville High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Todd Stewart has proved to be a reliable long snapper for Neville High School. As a wide receiver, Stewart may not be as big as your conventional long snapper, but that does not affect his snaps. He will lead a very strong unit this season for the Tigers.”

Bio: Todd Stewart’s top schools are Northwestern State and ULM. As of now, Stewart is leaning towards ULM in order to stay close to him as well as attend business school there. When not playing football, Stewart enjoys hunting and doing anything outdoors. He also plays baseball for the school. His goals for the upcoming season are to keep building on his deep snapping capabilities and as a result, grow in his new role as a linebacker.

 

 

 

Jackson McFarland

5-9, 215

Winnfield High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Jackson McFarland is an old throwback guy that can play wherever it is necessary for him to play. For Winnfield, he plays linebacker, defensive end, and even running back, but the position that he does play in which I think he can make a good playing career at is long snapper. It is rare to see a bad snap come from him.”

Bio: Last season, Jackson McFarland kept himself busy with 33 carries for 111 yards and two receptions for 22 yards as well as a pancake block during his three games at running back. Defensively, he had 28 tackles and a fumble recovery. Not to mention, he did not have a bad snap as a long snapper. His top schools are Nicholls State, Louisiana Tech, and ULL. As of right now, he is leaning towards Nicholls State.

“I’m leaning towards Nicholls State because I like their athletic program and their accounting program,” McFarland said. “It’s also a small school, but there’s plenty of people there at the same time.”

During the offseason, McFarland likes to pass his time by working, powerlifting, and playing music. An interesting fact about him is that he can play six instruments. His goals for the upcoming season are to make All-District, All-State, and have 20 sacks.

Cole Johnston

6-1, 170

Caldwell Parish High School

Lee’s Scouting Report: “Cole Johnston could play wide receiver, strong safety, and is a heck of a kick returner and punt returner. He’s heady, tough, and is on this list because he is a complete football player. I think a Northwestern State, Nicholls State, McNeese State, or a Southeastern would be a good fit for him.”

Bio: “In 2018, Cole Johnston did a little bit of everything with 28 catches, 427 yards, and three touchdowns as a wide receiver, and seven returns for 218 yards and two touchdowns as a punt returner. As of now, Johnston does not have any top schools, but what he does have is an idea of what he looks for when choosing a college.

“I look for a college that has a great coaching staff, nice facilities, and good academic quality.”

When not playing football, Johnston likes spending time with his family and hunting. His goals for the season are to make 1st Team All-District and to become a better leader for his team.
