Bastrop linebacker John Tappin may be the most underrated linebacker in the state. He does everything that a linebacker should do. John is smart, quick, explosive, a great tackler, very athletic and gives effort on every play.
Calvary Baptist WR Kyle Jones is an exciting player as he is not one of the biggest guys on the field as he only stands 5’9 at 190 lbs but he is quick and explosive and is a threat to make a 5 yard gain into a 70 yard touchdown. He is quick enough and fast enough to outrun people at the same time has enough power to break tackles and run people over.
Denham Springs TE Dauton Sibley is your prototypical tight end. He is a big guy who is 6’4 260 and can probably play on the offensive line but he is quick and fast enough to go down the field and catch passes. Dauton can develop into a really good college football player and can be one of the key factors for Denham Springs to improve from last season.
St. Paul defensive lineman Hayden Ocman is one of the best pass rushers in the state. He has the ability to bull rush offensive tackles and to beat offensive linemen with speed and quickness. He also can go sideline to sideline to stop the run. Hayden is very athletic and has a chance to develop into a very good football player.
Evangel Christian Academy WR/FS Tanner Ash is a great football player because he can play both sides of the football and can beat you from any position. Tanner is one of the best returning players in the state and can help give Evangel Christian Academy a spark that will help them go a little further than last year when they lost the state semi final game. Tanner is a very good wide receiver and is versatile enough to play at any position.
Archbishop Rummel SS/OLB Derrick Munson is one of the most unique and versatile players in the state as he plays strong safety but can also line up in the box and play like a linebacker. He is a linebacker and safety hybrid and that makes Derrick a special player. He goes out and gives 100% on each play and will hit you as hard as he can.
