LAFM: For starters, what’s your current height, weight and forty time?
DP: I’m 5’10”, 185, and I ran a 4.41.
LAFM: Are you originally from Louisiana?
DP: Yes sir, Natchitoches.
LAFM: Which teams did you root for growing up?
DP: Right now I like the Eagles and in college I like LSU.
LAFM: When did you first start playing football?
DP: I was young. I guess I’d say probably like eight when I started playing flag football.
LAFM: Has it always been a big part of your family? Have you had any family members who played football in the past?
DP: Yes sir, my whole family played. Two of my cousins played in the NFL.
LAFM: Do you play any other sports?
DP: Basketball, shooting guard.
LAFM: Do you want to go to a college where you can play two sports, or do you want to focus on one?
DP: I’ll probably end up picking one, most likely football.
LAFM: Do you play any other positions besides running back/cornerback?
DP: That’s pretty much it.
LAFM: If so, where do you see yourself being recruited?
DP: Most schools that are recruiting me are recruiting me as an athlete. They didn’t really put a certain position on it. If I had a choice I’d want to play receiver.
LAFM: Is there anyone in college or the Pros that you look up to or try to model your game after?
DP: As a running back it’s [LeSean] McCoy for the Philadelphia Eagles. He has good vision. He can see the field real well and he can see a lot holes. When he hits it he just kind of blazes out of it.
LAFM: What do you think is your biggest strength as a player and what part of your game are you trying to improve upon most this season?
DP: When I first started, I think I was more like a power back. Now I’m trying to work to get more like a downhill runner and hit the holes and go in with the big guys.
LAFM: Have you been to any camps at this point? If so, which ones?
DP: I went to Northwestern camp and the Under Armor All-American Camp in New Orleans at the Saints stadium.
LAFM: Have you heard from any coaches or received any offers?
DP: I’ve talked to the ULL coach, Northwestern, Texas A&M and McNeese. They’ve been calling and talking to me on the phone.
LAFM: Which schools stick out right now at the top of your list?
DP: To be honest, none really. I’m just trying where I can play.
LAFM: Have you thought about what you might want to study in college?
DP: I was thinking that I was going to be a sportscaster.
LAFM: What are some goals you’ve set for next season, for yourself and for the team?
DP: Last year, I don’t want to say I had a bad season, but I broke my toe in the eighth game and I finished the season with 951 yards. I said I wanted to be over that before the eighth game and I think I was. Our whole mindset at first was to win district, which didn’t happen because we ended up losing one to the team that won district. We wanted to make the playoffs, because I didn’t make the playoffs every year since I’ve been playing.
LAFM: Which school is your favorite to play against, or which game gets you the most fired up each year?
DP: Probably Block. That’s normally who we battle for the district championship each year.
LAFM: What are some of the most memorable games or plays you’ve been a part of?
DP: Probably the Block game last year. It was a close game. They were coming back, and I told the coach that I wanted the ball, and he was going to get it to me. They ended up kicking it to me on the kick return and I ran it all the way back and scored and won the game.
LAFM: And lastly can you give us your current GPA and ACT score?
DP: The ACT, I’m scheduled to take when it comes up, but right now I have a 3.3.
