March 17, 2010 - I went to East Ascension High School and met with head football coach John Lambert, who at one time was at Hahnville when they had the Landry brothers, Dawan Landry (Baltimore Ravens) and LaRon Landry (Washington Redskins). Coach has 130 kids out for spring which is really good numbers. The team will excel more on the athletic side than in size. There aren’t any Glen Dorseys or Shawn Nelsons (TE, Buffalo Bills) who are two former East Ascension Spartans. I had a great time visiting with Coach Lambert, who does a great job. He’s going get the program back to what it was when he first got there, and he does an excellent job playing with what he has as far as size goes. His top LB is Wade Julien who is excellent at MLB and who I hope doesn’t get overlooked by the D1 schools.
