Lamar WallaceMarch 4, 2010 - A name you don’t hear of too often anymore in Louisiana is Defensive End Lamar Wallace (6-3, 265) who went to Capitol high school. Lamar Wallace is now a starting Defensive End for the University of Tennessee State. Lamar will be entering his Red Shirt /Junior season in 2010. In 2009 Lamar had 20 tackles and 1 Sack. Lamar had 10 solo tackles out of the 20 for the season. Lamar missed the 2008 season, but showed in 2009, that he will be one of the top defensive players for Tennessee State in 2010. Lamar coming out of high school, was in the 230 pound range size wise, and has grown into a pretty athletic Defensive End for college football. If Lamar keeps progressing he could become a NFL prospect this season, and might have a shot his senior season to get drafted if he does that. Lamar could still weigh in the 275 to 280 range when he’s done filling out.

Louisiana Notes

In 2009, Tennessee State had a kid named Anthony Levine, a Defensive Back, who was from Abbeville, LA. He finished 5th on the team in tackles with 48, and had two interceptions for 70 return yards. Anthony was a senior in 2009. Anthony went to Abbeville high school.

Offensive Coordinator Mike Jones, Tennessee State, played for the New Orleans Saints from 1986 to 1989 . He was a really good Wide Receiver, and played 9 total years in the NFL.

Lamar Wallace was coached in high school at Capitol High School in Baton Rouge by Chadwick Germany, who played QB at Tennessee State. Germany, in his time, was a very good college QB and the same at Capitol high school. Germany is currently the Head Football coach at Capitol high school.
