July 7, 2011 - Head Coach Terry Martin from Cecilia High School has basically spent his entire coaching career within 5 miles. Terry Martin graduated from Cecilia High School in 1986, served the country in Desert Storm in the United States Marine Corps, and then graduated from USL Ragin Cajuns in 1992 which is now The University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
In 1993-1994, he was Wide Receivers coach at nearby Breaux Bridge High School, and from 1995 to 2003 he was Offensive Coordinator at Breaux Bridge High School. Terry Martin then became the Head Coach at Cecilia High School in 2004 which he has held going into the 2011 season. If you’re not from the area, Breaux Bridge High School, as they say, is just down the street from Cecilia High School.
Terry Martin coached some great athletes at Breaux Bridge High School. Most notably, RB Domanick Davis, who played for LSU, and for the Houston Texans as rookie of the year in the NFL. He also coached DB Shelton Parker - Arkansas, DB Jessie Daniels - LSU, DB Jonathan Zenon - LSU, and also RB Marcus Wiltz, who played for coach in 2009, and is now currently with the McNeese State Cowboys in Lake Charles. Marcus has a great future and is coming off an injury. He’s now 100 percent for the fall as a Red-shirt freshman. 2010 Signee for The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Ragin Cajuns, RB/ATH Montrel Carter also played for Terry Martin at Cecilia High School.
This Cecilia coaching staff is very close. Coach Martin said, “Lee, all the assistants played and graduated from Cecilia except for one. Offensive Line coach and Special Teams Coordinator Bart Vitte played on the 1995 State Championship Cecilia team here.”
After spending some time with Head Coach Terry Martin and the staff, you realize why these kids are so successful year in and year out at Cecilia High School. They’re disciplined and very close to their coaches, and these coaches get along so well as a staff and are so close as a group.
You can just feel it in the community that the Bulldog program is one tight knit bunch. They have a long history of winning and great fans every year, and you see why.

- Miss USA Ali Landry
- OT Anthony Clement (6-7,330) who played for the local USL Ragin Cajuns and in the NFL for the Arizona Cardinals.
- RB Jamaican Dartez from Tulane University and the Canadian Football League (CFL)
- The only current Cecilia Football coach that did not go to or play at Cecilia High School was Brian Ellender. He was coached at Breaux Bridge High School by current Cecilia Head Coach Terry Martin.
