| Davante Williams |
June 9, 2011 - I had a chance to talk to head coach Tut Musemeche of St. John of Plaquemine High School, and get a recruiting update on his football players for the 2012 recruiting class.
Athlete Davante Williams (6-0, 172 pounds) received offers recently from Grambling and North Texas. Devante plays Running Back and Defensive Back for the St. John football team. Davante will also get bigger while in college. He’s a very athletic, lean, and smooth football player on the field.
Nathan Voisin (6-4, 230 pounds) is getting looks, but I think, and so does Coach, that he will get offers later in the summer or fall. Nathan is a lean 230 pounds for a 6-4 kid, which means he will add another 40 to 50 pounds to his frame in college and become an Offensive Guard as a DI player or an OT for a IAA school in the end. Nathan plays mostly Defensive End and Tight End for his team. Nathan missed a lot of 2010 because of injuries, but will get a chance to show more in 2011 with a full season. La Tech, ULM, ULL, Harvard, Brown, and Stanford have all invited Nathan to attend camps this summer.
Kicker Connor Case (6-1, 170 pounds) has a strong leg, and in the end should get some opportunities to walk on as a Kicker.
I will have more on the St. John team in the upcoming 2011 preview Issue, which is available for pre-order on our online store at www.lafootballmagazine.com/store.
