April 25, 2011 - Spring Football always gives a kid a chance  to show what he can do coming off a Red Shirt Freshman season, and such is the case for Wide Receivers  Reggie Travis (6-3, 180 pounds)  from Plaquemine High School and Wide Receiver Kevin Wright (6-3 215 pounds) from Christian Life High School. Reggie and Kevin both Red Shirted in 2010 at the University of Memphis.

This spring Reggie Travis and Kevin Wright both had over a 100 yards receiving, and each kid  had catches for touchdowns over 50 yards in the same scrimmage.  It looks like both of these kids from the Baton Rouge area might be starting  this coming fall for Memphis University coming off Red Shirt Freshman season‘s in 2010 where they watched and learned from the sideline.

Kevin Wright led Christian Life to the State Championship game in 1A his junior year as a QB at 6-2, 200 pounds, and now he’s 6-3, 215 pounds and has since moved to Wide Receiver at Memphis.  Reggie has gone from 6-3, 170 to 6-3, 180 pounds since his high school days at Plaquemine High School.

Big time springs for a kid usually lead to a big time fall season.  I’m excited for both these young men and I’m sure they will have great seasons in 2011.
